So I've heard that Duffy and Shellie May are about to make a return at some point in 2016. Anyone else heard any character rumours?
Those rumours have been flying around for years and not based on any truth.
Well they may be unconfirmed (as is the nature of rumours) but it's still fun to hear who people think will make an appearance/reappearance.
I for one hope that the Duffy one is true, but I think DLP prefers to stick to more popular characters as they are known by more people.
It was so weird to see how big and popular Duffy and Shellie May are in Tokyo Disneyland and how nobody seems to care about them in Disneyland Paris.
I think it all has to do with marketing really.
When they were introduced in Tokyo, one by one, they spent a lot of time and money on that introduction.
So everyone knows them.
Here in Paris they organised the Storybook Store to be the main Duffy store and had some info signs up with his back story at the meet and greet. So only the more die-hard Disney fans knew who he was/is.
That does not help.
It also doesn't help that on the TDS website they have their own portal site for Duffy with locations, merch and what not. DLP just missed the ball there I'm afraid.
I think that overall it could all have been handled a lot better.
I would be all over Duffy if he was in the park :D
I would definitely queue for a meet and greet with him again if I had the option :)
I know he sometimes makes appearances at character lunches in at the Inventions character brunches, but I don't like him enough to want to pay that kind of money ^^
Shellie-May, well her I'm not bothered with at all (I don't like the colour of her fur and I think she has mean, evil eyes haha).
I've heard from a CM (who's also a close friend) that at her casting they were looking for Jasmine face characters.
I would love Duffy and Shellie May to do a meet and greet. Duffy is on the parade now so I'm going to pretend the rumours are all true and I will meet him next year ;D
He is basically on the parade somce he could first be met in DLP..
I think that the rumour might be true. maybe they are testing how they both together are "accepted". Could be...
