Just booked a trip for 2 adults 16 - 19 Feb.
3 nights Sequoia Lodge standard room in the lodges + 4 days parks £390.
Eurostar/TGV there and Eurostar direct back £180.
So £285 each in total.

Very excited. Wanted to do Florida for the first time this month but we were worried it was slightly outside our budget so opted for this instead. Would rather do proper Disney hotel in DLP than Florida on a shoestring.

I got a good deal last September:

Two adults, staying at the Santa Fe for 4 nights/5days with tickets, travelling by Eurostar with Disney express included for £486, so £243 each -

We stayed at the Sequoia Lodge last time but decided to have an extra night and go for the Santa fe :)

I arrive there on Sunday! (Already looking at booking again lol)

Taking advantage of kids under 12 free.  Myself 3 kids and 1 infant staying in Hotel New York for 4 nights for £486.  Booked last June when I got 4 nights for the price of 2.  Flights from Dublin are about €80 each.

very similar story with me - one adult, 2 kids age 9 and 10, 4 nights/5days at the Santa Fe, total £247 (and we're going on St Patricks Day so we get Disney fireworks thrown in  :D/ ). Our flights are just under £50 return each, transfer £20 each return.

This trip will be very cheap for us at Easter. Tescos took care of the Eurotunnel crossing, so just the fuel and tolls (so about £100).  Our Villa is a 900 euro maintenance each year for 7 nights (2 bedroom villa with lounge, diner, kitchen, laundry room, 2.5 bathrooms). And our AP's are still good and more than paid for themselves last year.

So all told, £200 each for 8 days!

900 Euros for 7 nights works out as 128.57 per night, which is £108 per night. I guess that's actually really good value for the size of accommodation you're getting. And that's not £108 per person per night, is it? That's the total amount.

So is that a timeshare or something? Where is it located?

Yes it is total. It is the Marriott Vacation Club on the DLP Golf Course. Although to be fair it was 14,000 euros to buy a week, but we have the deed for 75 years. Although we keep getting extras and have swapped to Marriott Villas in California and Spain as well, and earnt bonus weeks to where I feel we have recouped the investment, so I do not factor it in.

To be fair, I suppose if you work the business case fully it is £1000 for a week, and the annual passes do cost, so if you split them over the two years (though we used them for 11 days last year, so I consider them paid for), it is £320 for 1/2 half a year (we try to schedule trips so we buy an AP to cover two holidays at least). So best case works out £108 a night, or £27 per person per day, and worst case is £188.57 or £47 per person per day.

The business case just worked out that since I had been to DLP about 40 or so times before we bought in, 100's of Disney trips if you count Disneyland and Walt Disney World. It seemed like a no brainer, especially as the resort pools, spa, and activities including kids club are also fun, and there is so much to see in the region.

If interested, even just for renting, have a look at this:

http://www.marriott.co.uk/hotels/travel ... de-france/ (http://www.marriott.co.uk/hotels/travel/pardp-marriotts-village-dlle-de-france/%22%20onclick=%22window.open(this.href);return%20false;)

And there are loads of pictures in my trip report. We stayed in the Hotel New York in August with friends as we got a £200 travel agent rate for 3 nights, but we were really disappointed and the kids missed the villa.

Disney no longer advertise them, but it is next to the Radison SAS, and some villas you can see the Newport Bay Club from. The service is superior to the Disney hotels. The downside for some is there is not a restaurant, and you have to pay for the bus. This is not an issue for us as I prefer driving, and the APs mean parking is free. We also like dining out in Val D'Europe. Now the Disney restaurants have converted so many to buffets of dubious quality, we feel we have a better choice with having the car.

We did our 2 night/3 day trip to Sequoia Lodge for 3 adults for £348 for hotel/park passes, plus £197 total for Eurostar along with later adding £16 pp for the Disney Express which brought it up to £593 or £193 per person, which I thought was a fantastic deal (on the 40% off period) and if we could get an equivalent price again we would be back like a shot next year, possibly spending a little more to go to NPB or HNY or maybe going for Santa Fe or Cheyenne instead

mmm on looking at your deals I dont think mine is so hot...going on the 3 of April 2011 3 days 2 nights flights transfers and insurance and 3 days 2 nites cheyenne all your meals for free cost 998 euro that is for one adult and one child but now classed as adult disney standard as she is 13.  But at least all meals are covered this time.

I booked 4 days/3 nights at the Disneyland Hotel in april. With tickets, planes from Nice, VEA shuttles, half board Premium and insurance, it costs about €2,000 (about £1,680) for 2 adults.
Cannot wait to be there again, even though it is in more than 2 months!

How much does the Disneyland Hotel typically cost per night in a standard room?
Title: Re: How much did you pay for Your Trip?
Post by: Trendy Bambi on February 05, 2011, 08:24:19 PM
It depends on the day of your check in.
For example, if you are arriving on tomorrow, it would cost €512 (about £430) per night (without tickets). But if you arrive on next saturday, it would be €904 (about £760).
Title: Re: How much did you pay for Your Trip?

£460 per night? Is that per person, or just for one room in total? And does that figure include park admission, or is that just for the room?
Title: Re: How much did you pay for Your Trip?
Post by: Trendy Bambi on February 05, 2011, 08:29:07 PM
As I said, it is without tickets, so there is no park admission.
That is obviously per room and not per person.
Title: Re: How much did you pay for Your Trip?
Post by: CafeFantasia on February 05, 2011, 10:08:04 PM
Wow, £460 per room per night? Is that really how much it costs in the low season? I was sure it used to be less than that.

Wait a minute. I've just done a lot of searching using the Online Booking System on the DLP website, and the cheapest price coming up is £714 for 1 night at the Disneyland Hotel, for 2 adults. That price does include park tickets, but no transportation. It seems totally ridiculous for a 1 night holiday. I mean, the Disneyland Hotel is a lovely hotel, but that price is just a rip-off:

In fact, as Disney offers lots of promotions, the real price is not as expensive.
Nevertheless, prices go up continuously...
About the price you have found : it is quite expensive because there is no discount.
I have searched the same on the french website and there is 30% off. Thus, it costs €564.20 or £475.80.

Hence why although the DLH is my fav in Paris, we prefer to stay in the Villa. The DLH is good, but for that sort of money, Tokyo Disney Sea looks more obtainable.

i think we paid around £1600 for 3 adults in the DLH for 4 nights 5 days, 1 night in the explorers, and flights... oh and we had the expence of new passports for all 3 of us at about £90 each as well....for the 30th of jan - 4th feb 2011 with 40% off but we booked way in advance.... we where booked up in july last year im not certain about that price though...i know it was def over £1500 though

I think I did ok for my stay. 2 adults staying in Cheyenne for 3 nights 4 days. The cost of the hotel, tickets, transport (eurostar) and halfboard meal plan has cost me £640.20 for the first week of March.

4 of us (me, the wife and 2 kids aged 1 and 3) are going on the 21st March for 5 days staying at the Davy Crocket ranch (premium cabin). We paid £500 but booked eurotunnel on top of that (£80 return)

Can't wait

Got a bargain in my opinion... we are off tomorrow (train leaves in 11 hours but who's counting?) and I am very excited :)

3 days/2 nights at Santa Fe for me and my daughter (3) with half board meal plan 240 euro (about £200) plus the Eurostar for £80 :) Well I'm happy with that!

May be our only trip this year as me and the other half are planning on working our arses off and saving for Florida this time next year (OH is a massive NFL fan so wants to be there next feb for the Superbowl)

So jealous of the good deals everyone got here... my own fault for booking HNY for July I suppose. Also doesn't help that I don't have children so I get no extra benefit from the Kids stay and play offers.
Was just over £1400 for 3 of us to stay 3 nights at Hotel New York, with flights and insurance at the start of July, so pretty expensive really (especially for me, as my little sister can't pay for herself).

Just out of curiousity, how many of you travel direct from London/Kent, and price journey to there seperately?
Title: Re: How much did you pay for Your Trip?

For 2 adults and 2 children 11 and 14 years old (14 counts for adult), we paid for 4 nights at Newport Bay Club from Dec. 28th 2010 until Jan. 1st 2011, plus VEA, plus meals:  2.800 euros.
I know that Christmas period is extremely expensive but I can see that prices for UK are completely different, this is a shame.

Hi, I haven't broken it down but I paid just over £1200.00 for 5days/4nights in Sequoia lodge for 2 adults and 1 child(6) with half board plus, eurotunnel return transport and insurance from Feb18th - 22nd.
Looking at other peoples post's, I can't work out if i got a good deal or not! Still, I expect it will be worth every penny just to see my daughters face when she meets Winnie the poo and the Princesses!
Chris.

Lol, so far we have. That said, a villa at Marriott would cope just fine with those numbers and it would only cost £1050 for the same time period as a guest rather than an owner (unless going in Summer where it goes up to £1500)

Ok starting to feel a bit ripped off - however we are having to fly from Edinburgh so not able to take advantage of the train etc.  For the 4 of us 2 adults 2 kids 5 & 7. Staying for 4 days 3 night at Sequioa Lodge hotel with 1 Character dinner - £1912.20 or £478.00 each - hubby had a fit at the price but did tell him it will only get more expensive each year we wait.

not necessarily - now that you've found the world of DLP forums you'll begin to see how you can reduce the costs of a trip   . my first trip was my most expensive, and I only went for 2 nights/3 days. Ever since then I've managed to get more for my money/longer trips etc while keeping under that original budget of 4 years ago.

The prices seem to have gone up so much! I did originally book half term week with 30% off but it was only for 3 nights and was £687!! So i have got an extra day for £80 less and hopefully less crowds!!!  I did think about going the day before his birthday and then he would have gone free but we would have to stay for much longer to go to the MNSSHP on the 7th so will cost a fortune anyway!
We are there the same time as you, you will have to tell us what outfits Kyra will be wearing and we will look out for you x

Well the beginning of last October last year the parks were pretty quiet, so fingers crossed it will be the same this year.

Kyra will be having a array of costumes this time, 8 days means lots of costumes lol.

Last trip - £100 each for 2 nights/3 days at the Santa Fe plus £46 each for Eurostar (we had A LOT of Nectar points). 9th til the 11th Feb. We then took 200 Euro with us and came back with 50 - we're very frugal.
Title: Re: How much did you pay for Your Trip?

We're going 30/04/2011 - 2/05/2011
£396 for Eurostar (that seemed like a rip-off to me but hey we book a bit late), £204 for two nights at Kyriad. We used Tesco clubcard/airmiles for tickets though we'll still need to buy an annual pass to cover me (though that does give me an excuse to go back in october/december to see the other seasons :D).

So total £600 + £117 annual pass = £717. As a comparison, Disney was looking at £800 for hotels +tickets without Eurostar so total would have been around £1200.

We're using the first afternoon we go there to go to Paris as we've never been, so really 1 and 3/4 days in the park though as everyone in our party is over 14 we don't mind doing the parks strategically to get everything we can in.

I was looking to go for 3 nights, 4 days on the exact same dates you're going - and found it incredibly expensive.
So, I decided to price up exactly a week before, and added an extra night, so now I'm going for 4 nights and 5 days and still saved £100 on the price I was originally quoted from the 3rd April. I think you definitely have to play around with dates when you're booking.

In all, I paid £567 for myself, and my 2 year old daughter, for 4 nights, 5 days at the Santa Fe, from 27th March - 31st March.
This is including our flights from Manchester, the VEA shuttle from the airport to the hotel, and full insurance. (and obviously the park tickets are included too, as it is a Disney hotel)

Our total price for DLP for 2 nights/3 days at Sequoia Lodge in June for 3 adults was £515. This was with 30% off, and although I was hoping HNY might come within budget, I was still happy enough with this price.
And our flights from Glasgow-CDG were £80 per person. we are also staying 2 nights in Paris.

Yes, they do! I'm excited to stay somewhere different actually, and I do love the bar area in SL. This is a trip to celebrate our graduation from uni so maybe if I drop that hint with DLP they'll throw some pixie dust our way in the form of a refurbed room ;) can't hurt to try....

Because Disney's prices have got a bit silly for me now, for the times of year I want to visit, we've gone the AP/offsite route this year.

Bought APs in November 2011 (worked out at £104 each with my shareholders discount) and had 4 nights/5days in November at the Dream Castle for £181. Our flights and transfers are never more than £200 total.
We're back at DLP on 10th June, haven't booked our hotel yet and our APs are obviously stil valid, so this trip, again, will be just under £200 total for flights, transfers, insurance, and the hotel I expect will be under £180 for 3 nights.

Who knows, we might even pop over for a couple of high summer days at the end of August too.

Elaine, did you get discount for all the passes you bought? I bought the cheapest posible pass this week (Decouverette) and got discount on both passes despite the fact that I am the shareholder and only thought I would get the discount for myself. My next visit is on 11th April for the 20th birthday so buying the cheapest pass which cost 84 euros is considerably cheaper than a three day pass. I'll probably miss EMH but will probably try your way of going to Salon Mickey about 09.00. and enjoy a cup of hot chocolate!

yes, I always get shareholders discount on each AP, even if I'm buying 2 or 3 at the same time. I'm not bothered about breakfast included in my hotel price, as you say Salon Mickey at 9am for a hot drink and a pastry does me fine in the mornings, and if we don't have breakfast included at our hotel its a great excuse to splash out on breakfast at the Disneyland Hotel on one of our mornings, for a real treat!

For my next trip, I will stay at the Disney's Hotel New York, 4 days and 3 nights in an Empire State Club room with Lake view, from the 18th to the 21st February 2013, I will pay 1660 €.

As long as you are shareholder and a member of the shareholders club then entrance to Salon Mickey is free - but there is a limit on how many times you can use it each year.  The drinks are free, as are the pastries but they now limit them (pastries) to one per person.

yep, this is right. You can use Salon Mickey up to 5 times per month when you are visiting DLP. You can take up to 4 members of your family with you, or up to 3 friends. Its a very small lounge (seats no more than about 16 people) thats why the numbers etc are restricted.

Brill thank you
I'm not a shareholder yet but planning towards it in the next couple of years- just need to make sure that we have funds to do a few trips in 1 year first before splashing out on shares and annual passes as it really seems a lot more cost effective that way  :D Especially during school holidays!!

My trip cost £1049 for two adults - 3nights/4days in a standard room at Hotel New York - September 10th - 13th.

(The hotel itself was reasonable, around 500-600 quid separately, but after adding on direct Eurostar 1st class and Disney Express the price suddenly leapt up)

I wish I'd held out for cheaper Eurostar tickets - I know 1st class is overpriced but it's much quieter and there are fewer screaming children (why do I bother going to Disney, I hear you ask!) and I like to indulge myself - but if I'd waited I reckon I could've got a cheaper deal. I should learn not to be so impatient!

I hope this doesn't make me sound horribly pompous, I'm really not that bad!

I paid £911 for the following:

2 adults 2 children and one infant with return Eurostar, staying at the Hotel Santa Fe, for 3 nights and 4 days, on the 8th-11th of October.

I booked it all direct on the DLRP website 9 months in advance so have saved a small fortune. The same trip if booked now come back at just over £1400.

cheers

it might be worth, in future, pricing up Eurostar separately. Usually (not always, but mostly) Disney charge a lot more for Eurostar than Eurostar does themselves, for the exact same service.

My Halloween holiday for this year is costing around £901-ish? That's the 4 nights/5 days at Cheyenne for 2 adults and one child, 3 tickets to the Halloween party and a Princess dinner for me and my little girl.

We're going in April 4 nights Mon-Fri, staying in the Cheyenne and travelling on the eurostar. We paid £920 for 2 adults and 2 children- that includes hotel, travel, insurance, disney express and park tickets. The eurostar sure bumped the price up! The price you pay for convenience I guess!

3 adults, 1 child staying at HNY from 27-30 March = £850, booked when they had 40% off. Had a result with Eurostart as I booked it 6 months ago and it was £256, looked the other day and it had gone up to £750! I could not believe it. Need to add on insurance so wiil come to around £1150 for 3 nights, 4 days.

We always drive, using Eurotunnel with Tesco vouchers (so free crossing). AP for 5 people with Shareholder discount is approx £450 (and we'll get 3-4 trips out of this).  Our next hotel stay, for 4 nights, is £300 at Adagio; I could have booked same stay for £180 when they had a sale on but at the time I couldn't be certain we were able to go so I missed out - I won't next time though!!

Our cheapest stay to date has been £200 for hotel & tickets, for 3 nights & 3 days.  :D/
