On the 1st of June 2010 Lightship Productions will release 2 new DVD products and 1 new Blu-ray disc, taking you behind the scenes at Walt Disney World. I believe these are the infamous Travel Channel specials.
The good news is that all of the DVDs are "All Regions", meaning they'll play in the UK and Europe. Usually these kinds of products are Region 1 only.
Check out the 3 products on Amazon.com:

I wonder what the difference is between the 3 versions? It looks like the more expensive DVD is a boxset - but all 3 versions have different running times. I would want the blu ray but the running time is shorter that the dvd boxset when blu ray is capable of a lot of hours on less discs. If anyone gets these, I'd like to know more
Awesome! I might have to purchase I think :)
Cool but they are NTSC - will that play in europe? If so then I have to get it :)
I really hope that this is a brand new production of the Travel Channel movies and not just a new cover for the DVD with the old movies from 2007 like in the previous years.

Yeah, NTSC shouldn't be a problem. It used to be a big problem with VHS tapes, but NTSC DVDs seem to play fine on modern equipment.

In 2007 we have been to the US for half a year and there we got a Disney Vacation Planning DVD for WDW and DL and it is also NTSC, but the DVD works very well on our DVD player. So I think we will be fine with it.
Yeah - when I think of it I actually has a couple of NTSC DVD's myself, so I had the answer :P
does anyone have these dvd's and can now provide more info on them?
I have the 6 disc box set and have watched all of them except the one about Disney Cruise Line.
I believe the production company is named Lightship and I for one hasn't seen these documentaries before. It contains great phootage of the american parks and tells lots of great stories. They are pretty updated with news about Cars Land, World of Color and such.
I will say they do not contain that many new and groundbreaking information, but they get you in the mood and has lots of comments from Cast members, imagineers, experts and of course people from the Disney company.
I have now ordered the 6 disc box. I can't wait till it gets here :D/
I got the DVD box today. All six DVDs work fine on my Philips DVD player and on my LG LCD.
The movies are the ones shown on the American Travel Channel, but they are of good quality and the 25$ (~18€) are worth it.
The box includes:
Disc 1: WDW - Behind the Scenes
Disc 2: DL - Behind the Scenes
Disc 3: Ultimate WDW
Disc 4: Animal Kingdom
Disc 5: Disney Cruise Line
Disc 6: Undiscovered Disney Parks
I got my DVD's about a week ago. I have watched all 6 DVD's once and 2 of them 2 and 3 times
The DVD's works fine in my zone 2 DVD player.
Anyone in the UK managed to buy this product? If you look on Amazon.co.uk you'll see that Amazon themselves don't actually sell it. And the DVDs are region 1, not "All Regions":

I ordered from the USA, but the DVD's came from New Zealand. On the back of the DVD's it doesn't say anything about regions.
Trouble is, if they are shipped to the UK from outside the EU, you could get stung for tax. Rip of Britain strikes again!
Does anybody knows anything about this dvd box set?

I am thinking on buying it, together with the new Walt Disney Imagineering book...

I'm not sure, but I think it is the same box set as the one discussed above. It's just the German synchronisation. I have an older version of this box set in German, but I would recommend the English version, because in the old version you can still hear the English voice under the German. That's really annoying. I hope they didn't make the same mistake again. That's the reason why I ordered the English box.
You have to get the new Imagineering book. It's definately worth the money.
I don't speak German, so I don't really mind the overdubed German over the English...
Well maybe I will order the box set and see... Its only 5 euros...
I hate that those dvd's never reach the netherlands. I don't have a CC

Don't you have an Amazon online shop in the Netherlands? Otherwise you can order the DVDs from the US Amazon.com, like I did and it worked fine.

No amazon shop here. And for the us amazon shop I need a credircard.
I got mine at last - had them shipped from amazon.com to my hotel whilst in Floriday. I got the 6 disc set, which is a bit ridiculous as the 5 hour content would easily fit on 2 discs!. They are kind of like watching an extended vacation planning DVD but some of the content is repeated on different discs but I am glad I have them and enjoyed watching them
Can anybody tell me what's on the blu ray box? is it like the six dvd box?
Is the blu ray region 2, I live in the netherlands
Wow, I want that! I think I might get it.. :D
The DIsneyland Parks DVD should be landing in my postbox in exact two days! That's 2! :D Can't wait! Im as happy as.. well, a kid in Disneyland! ;D
