Post here any TV Alerts for Disney! Whether it's a classic film, a documentary, or just a quick slot on a travel show... anything Disney!
Make sure you post the date, time, title, channel and country! :ears:
The schools have closed, but there aren't *that* many films on. These are the only 3 I could find in the next 2 weeks...
UK - Saturday 29th July 2006
Tron
BBC One - 2.05pm to 3.35pm
Sci-fi thriller in which a young computer genius is sucked into a master computer system and transported into another dimension while trying to hack into the system to prove his ideas for video games are being stolen. He and his henchman, the electronic warrior Tron, face many trials and finally have to battle for their lives with the computer itself.
UK - Sunday 20th July 2006
The Shaggy DA
BBC Two - 11.00am to 12.30pm
Some habits prove harder to break than others in this amiable, belated follow-up to Disney's 1959 hit, The Shaggy Dog. Following in the pawprints of Tommy Kirk (who played Wilby Daniels as a boy), lawyer Dean Jones finds himself turning into a pooch at the slightest provocation. Unfortunately, this peculiar canine condition occurs just as he's up for election as district attorney against the unscrupulous Keenan Wynn. Notable for a juicy scene involving some cherry pies and an ingenious breakout from the dog pound, this is one of those rare occasions when the sequel is superior to the original.
UK - Saturday 5th August 2006
Kiki's Delivery Service
Film4 - 4.45pm to 6.55pm
Not strictly Disney, but they did distribute it in the US and it's a nice film...
This endearing fantasy adventure from Japanese master-animator Hayao Miyazaki is given a quality Disney makeover in this English-language version. Kirsten Dunst lends her voice to the part of Kiki, the young witch who has to spend a year practicing her craft in a new town, and she's joined by a quality cast including Phil Hartman and Janeane Garofalo. It doesn't have the blackness of Miyazaki's eco-tales, but this subtle coming-of-age tale still exhibits his unmatched visuals - the detail of the flying scenes is delightful - and strong characters.
i keep looking on the travel channels and they aren't doing anything on dlrp, has anyone seen anything on travel channels
NL - Sunday 13th August 2006
The Rocketeer
Talpa - 18.35 to 20.30
Testpiloot Cliff Secord vindt een rocketpack waarmee hij kan vliegen. Hij wil als Rocketeer de misdaad bestrijden, maar al snel heeft hij gangsters, nazi's en een gemaskerde kerel achter zich aan.
I love that film! :D Shame it wasn't very successful, would have been perfect as the theme of Soarin'...
BE - Sunday 13th August 2006
Mary Poppins
één - 14h
Quote from: "Baloo"I love that film! :D Shame it wasn't very successful, would have been perfect as the theme of Soarin'...
I recorded the film because I couldn't watch it Sunday, so I watched it yesterday... and the film was quite good to be honest. Especially the soundtrack was great, although I already knew that. :D
By the way, like you mentioned, the theme would be perfect for a Soarin' attraction in Production Courtyard/ Hollywood Studios. The movie is set in the 30s, and it has both a Hollywood and aviator theme.
on thompson travel on sky they keep showing halloween @disneyland paris i think its thompson anyway.
Next monday at 7pm on BBC1, "Holiday" which is about Haloween at DLRP :)
Oh cool, thanks! :)
Thanks for posting, will try to record it!. 8)
What an awesome report! They gave a good view on the Halloween events as well as showing a bit of the attractions, Hotel New York, LOTLK, and more. The Laser Blast section was probably my favourite - not only was it *finally* a great tv advert for the ride, but they used that nice music from the opening ceremony and queue area...
Some - actually, most of the footage was even better than DLRP's own. It all looked so colourful and pretty. Maybe the BBC are worth their money afterall. :)
Edit: And I think the best thing, something which I've suddenly noticed this year, is that the media now says *Disneyland Resort Paris*. Finally, after all these years, they've got it!
Yeah, I agree, it advertised DLRP and halloween very well. :)
Dam I missed it!! Any idea if its repeated at all?
Doesn't seem to be repeated at all which is weird. I thought most of their main programmes they repeated with sign language during the night...
I didn't tape it either, and even if I had I can't get it uploaded. :(
:D What an excellent report! I loved the on-board footage of Space Mountain Mission 2 and the Buzz ride, they both looked brilliant! :) And considering how short the report was, they managed to show/review a lot of different things...
 It only would've been better if that Laurence guy was doing it instead...
i thought it was AMAZING! although they could have mentiond a little more on halloween but still it was great!
Love the report. Best one I've seen in AGES! Although filmed in October, it really makes me want to go and the colours really were amazing. Why cant Disney (known for colourful movies) film their parks in the same way? lol
I love how the report uses the official music from the parks too - instead of usual cheesey tunes from movies or the ever-annoying "dreams can come true" song - can't remember the name, but must be something similar. The official shots are cleverly mixed in to the BBC footage as well. Seamless... almost :D
I uploaded the video earlier for those who didn't/couldn't see it. At the moment it's a .flv file embedded in a page to test the response to the format - just so you understand the randomness of the layout there lol.

P.S. What the hell is "Disneyland Los Angeles"? I'm sure they just mean California :P
Thanks for uploading.
About the colours, the camera crew cleverly used a gradient filter and a polarisation filter on their camera's, so the sky comes out better.
Footage from the people inside the attractions is always filmed by Disney camera's (Flor, correct me if I'm wrong).
LOL, yeah those gradient filters are so popular now and kinda easy to use, though very expensive still. Saying that, the basic shades of orange, pink and everything else really have come out well too (made better by the sunshine of course).
I'd imagine DLRP is set up with camera mounts/lights for on-ride footage as simple attatchments to the rides would be better than each TV company working out how to fasten thir own minicameras. This would encourage the programme to show more of the attraction than they would otherwise display... I guess. It also takes the risk out of using the cameras for both DLRP (they can insure themselves knwing it's safe) and the TV company (who probably wouldn't bother getting the shots if the camera is likely to fall off mid-ride lol).
I wonder what the arrangement is with using Disney video shots/music/graphics. I know presskits are available, but how long would the process (of agreeing to film in DLRP to using some of their material) take do you think?
Has anyone else recognised friends/CMs in the video?
hey! Thay are making Pirates of the Caribbean 4!!!!!!!!! :D But there are rumers that they may be killing off Orlando Bloom as Will Turner!!!  They said that the Jack Sparrow And Elizabeth Swann haracters are Nesarry but Will Turner isn't nessary!!! O MY GOD!
HE can die! He is hot hot hot hot....
:-({|=

That's not a tv alert, is it?
I was flicking through Sky the other day and saw a feature on Paris but there was a part of the programme when the presenter was at Disneyland. She said something along the lines of 'If you want a break from the city, why not visit the Disneyland Parks for a day. They're not as good as the American ones but to keep you occupied for a day, they're alright'. She basically tore it to shreds and commented on the lack-lustre parades, too many children and over-priced merchandise! It made me laugh because that certainly won't encourage people to go there!!!
Hey, I'm glad someone managed to record that Holiday report on Halloween 2006 at Disneyland Paris. It's got some great footage in it. The BBC have got their technical skills down.
BUT, why does the presenter say "there are no age restrictions on this ride either, which is a bit of a pity because I was hoping that I might be too old", referring to Laser Blast? What's the point in visiting Disneyland Paris if you have no desire to ride any of the attractions? I wonder what the Imagineers would think of her comment? They've spent years creating this ride, and some presenter from the BBC goes there to do a report on it, yet has absolutely no desire/interest in riding it.
And when she got off, she, well they didn't give any review/rating of the attraction. Just some shots of her two boys arguing with each other.
She is a news reader in northern ireland and she has a dry sence of humour, she said the same about space mountan as well, saying she wished she wasnt the right height, she wasnt putting it down, she was just a little scared and didnt know what to expect, she didnt mean it in a way that she couldnt be bothered...

I think she thought it was a scary ride - that's why she said that.
Ah ok, if she thought Buzz Lightyear Laser Blast was a scary ride, then that makes sense. I guess she hadn't done any research and had no idea what type of ride it was. So I forgive her.
Still, they really shouldn't send cynical adults to do reports in Disneyland. What a waste of money. If you're gonna send someone, send someone who enjoys theme parks, enjoys simple pleasures and is a child at heart.

Lucky it's Christmas really, the TV schedule is awful...
WOW thats a lot of Disney, but who can have enough?
:( I'll be gutted if I'm working on the day that Who Framed Roger Rabbit is on.
That's great! I'll definitely be watching some of those. I can see my Sky+ Planner being full of recorded Disney films
Did u notice however that that list is almost devoid of classics?? It's the same as in the 80s when they control released the classics on VHS so they could still make money from the cinema showings! Now they hardly ever show them on non-disney channel channels so they can make money from the DVD sales! Actually they have Home On The Range and Bedknobs. But hardly big money makers either of them!
We get quite a lot of Disney films (and cartoons) on Belgian tv on several different channels (we also have Disney Channel through digital tv but I don't have that) but sadly 90% of it is dubbed :(
The only network that airs more original than dubbed Disney movies is Canvas and they only air Disney movies once in a blue moon sadly :(
