Title: Details that make you smile...
Post by: Anthony on July 20, 2006, 04:41:17 PM
Disneyland Park is full of details, they're what makes it the best magic kingdom in the world!  So, what are your favourite details?  The most beautiful, the most well-hidden, the funniest... whatever reason - which little piece of magic puts a smile on your face every visit? :) Post a photo if you can.

For me, you can't beat those incredible Discovery Arcade posters, they're so stunning:

^They're great posters.

I think its nice having Walt's Leigion d'honneur medal on display in City Hall.

I always love to see the twinkling lights on the rails on the roof of Space Mountain. For some reason it's just the most magical detail I can think of when I think of Disneyland Paris. I can't describe it. It's such a small detail but it adds so much meaning to the attraction. It stands for the imagination, the fantsay behind this trip to the edge of the universe.

Other small details that alway make me laugh are the tombstones at Boot Hill. And another really neat detail are the beautiful painting on the wall of the Emporium showing the Emporiums at both Anaheim (opened in 1855) and Orlando (opened in 1871).

There are so many details which I love, but the first I thought about are the snoring knights in the castle gallery. They make this area real and magical.

Did you know those knights each have a different colour?  One is blue and the other one is red.

Oh no I never noticed that they have a different coulour. Thanks for telling me. I will look closer to them on my next trip.    But is there a special reason why they have a different colour ?

If you look closely, you can see the difference here:

I love how the land transitions have been so cleverly designed, eg:

-Adventureland to Frontierland(South America to The Old West via Mexico)

-Fantasyland to Adventureland(Link of pirate theme with Peter Pan, and Gepetto's boat on Adventure Isle shores)

I also love how there are links between everything in Frontierland, eg references to other parts of Thunder Mesa in Phantom Manor and Boothill.
