Been waiting a long time to own Fantasia, used to watch it all the time at my Nan's when I was little! I do hope it's released on DVD too...?
 OMG I'm so excited! Look at how bright and vibrant the colours are! I can't wait. I might actually get it imported fgrom America, depending on how long the wait is between them getting it and us getting it.
Dumbo, Toy Story, Toy Story 2, Beauty and the Beast, Up, The Princess and the Frog, Toy Story 3 and Fantasia & Fantasia 2000? What a year for animation on Blu-ray!!
I suppose this means if they're being released as well as Beauty and the Beast that they didn't think Fantasia could stand up as one of the two main re-releases each year, probably wouldn't sell enough.
Note to Disney: This would be a good year to start preparing a Fantasia 2020.
With this new release will Disney change anything - or will it be a perfect transition of the original theatrical release?
I was wondering because "A Night on Bald Mountain" included BARE BREASTED DEVIL GIRLS and I don't think that terribly Disney do you?
I've never seen Fantasia and Fantasia 2000, but I've seen the Sorcerer's Apprentice sequence from Fantasia. So I think I have to get them both. Do you know if it will be released on DVD, too?

 I hope you're being sarcastic. Maybe the fact that it isn't "terribly Disney" is what makes Fantasia so great. There is nakedness and there is death, but it's not like it's gratuitous. There are worse things in the older Disney films than a few naked breasts, such as racism. So yeah, I think it would be a shame to change Fantasia any further than it already has been (they cut out the racist part). Which is fair enough, but that's the one and only part that really shouldn't be in the film.
All I want to know is, is it gonna be 2 separate purchases or can we (unlikely) expect a double BD edition.
I like Fantasia, but I dont really fancy having to buy them separate. Especially with Beauty and the Beast coming soon (the last 'classic' I dont own. Finally the circle of life will be complete)
I had Fantasia on VHS many moons again, so looking forward to being able to own if finally on dvd.
Is it just coming to Bluray or will us non Blu Ray be able to grad a normal dvd copy?
I also had the VHS back in the day, I remember as a child I would watch the Sorcerer's Apprentice, over and over and over again! I'm looking forward to getting the dvd.
when is it bein released ?

There is a double pack:
Is this the "best" edition of both films? I only ask because the separate Fantasia blu-ray says "2 Disc Special Edition" but then this double pack of both films says only 2 discs on Amazon. It's so confusing just buying a film these days...
Also doesn't look like Fantasia 2000 will be re-released separately at all.
What happened to Fantasia World?
On the German Amazon store there are only two seperate DVDs and BluRays of Fantasia and Fantasia 2000 available, so no box including both movies.
Did anyone already buy Fantasia and Fantasia 2000, because on the German cover it says "Walt Disney Fantasia" and "Disney Fantasia 2000".
So did Disney start again to use the "Walt Disney" for movies made while he was alive and "Disney" for movies made after him? I'm just wondering, because the cover of Beauty and the Beast just says "Disney". Dumbo, Snow White and Pinocchio were also produced under Walt, but the German covers just say "Disney".
It was only Dumbo over here that just said "Disney": http://www.amazon.co.uk/Dumbo-Special-C ... 002ZG8CRK/ (http://www.amazon.co.uk/Dumbo-Special-Combi-Pack-Blu-ray/dp/B002ZG8CRK/%22%20onclick=%22window.open(this.href);return%20false;)
Looking here on Amazon.de (//http://www.amazon.de/Schneewittchen-die-Zwerge-Diamond-Blu-ray/dp/B002GMQ80G/ref=pd_cp_d_0), that seems to be the same for Germany as well? Or were the actual printed boxes different?
Anthony you are right. I'm sorry.
But I still want the "Walt Disney" prefix instead of just "Disney" on all DVD covers and movie posters.
:( This is all very confusing. I want both films, and my only way of having both is by buying the double pack. But Anthony is saying that the version of Fantasia that comes in the double pack is not as good as the one that is sold separately? Gah, I don't know what to do. I might just wait for it to appear in stores so I can read what it says on the boxes, then buy it online.
I was getting confused by all this talk so I went and inspected the actual covers today in HMV. In the stand-alone edition you only have 1 blu-ray disc and 1 DVD disc. There is no difference between the stand-alone and the double pack editions. Well, from what I could tell anyway.
I understand where the confusion comes from though and it looks like a tough choice will have to be made when the Toy Story trilogy is released. I don't like how it's worded on the internets sometimes.

I think the double pack contains only blu-ray discs, whereas the single Fantasia is a "Double Play" with DVD. People are complaining on Amazon that Disney aren't releasing the 4-disc blu-ray AND DVD double pack here.
Also, the extras are getting so-so reviews compared to the previous Fantasia Anthology set. The whole "Fantasia World" thing from that original trailer seems to have been completely dropped - those Fantasia 2006 shorts aren't included at all, except Destino.
I'm angry at the lack of extras, but at the same time, I'm just glad that these films are finally out on Blu-Ray. It's better than never getting them on Blu-Ray at all.
Going down to HMV tomorrow to buy this with my birthday money.
N.B. Anyone who collects the disneymoviereward.co.uk points, if you buy this and Beauty and the Beast you get double points for a limited time. So that on blu-ray that's 600 in total !

I don't think this applies to the Fantasia/2000 double pack though? The terms and conditions aren't very clear. In any case, my discs arrived yesterday without a Movie Rewards code inside, so I've had to email in for points again.
For those interested in the packaging: The UK set is two normal blu-ray cases inside a nice shiny cardboard sleeve. The cases have the same cover art as the German versions sold separately (Fantasia 2000's pink/purple cover is lovely). And yes, Fantasia says "Walt Disney". ;)
Thanks Anthony for making this clear. It just annoys me that TWDC seems to be not that interested anymore in Walt. It's just focusing on the brand. I wonder if it is a coincidence that this happened in the last year after Roy E. Disney died.
Nevertheless I will buy the DVD versions of both movies. I have a Blu Ray player, but Fantasia is not worth 25€ for me. The DVD is just 14€.

Well I'm guessing that because each film has it's own separate box, that each will have it's own code and I'll get 750 points in total :-)
got the double points, sweet!! Although I didn't get a code for Fantasia 2000. So that really 150 for each and 300 for Beauty and the Beast. Still, it's not enought for the Luxo Lamp but it's a start.
Off to relax on the sofa for 3 1/2 hours :-)
Since I don't have a Bluray player, I bought the regular dvd version of Fantasia. I have to say it bugs me to no end that all the dvd releases of late are so barren; hardly any extra's, no inlay, and boring grey disc art.
In any case, since there is no inlay, I don't have an overview of the chapters. The 'select a chapter' part of the dvd menu does not help in identifying the chapters; impossible to tell which is which! So, I would like to print an overview of the chapters to put in my dvd box. Problem is, no matter how I search the internet, I can't find any overview.
Can anyone of you help me by directing me to an overview of the chapters?? (Ideally, a scan of an inlay, but hey a simple text list will do...)
