Title: Your Biggest and Best Disney Bargains!
Post by: Masamune on September 17, 2009, 10:42:58 PM
:D This thread is for people to show off the Disney related bargains they've managed to track down. It can be something you've found at a car boot, or online, or even in a shop! If you got an awesome Disney item for much less than it should normally cost then it's a bargain! :P

:) I'm going to start us off with a fantastic purchase I made today. First of all, here's what I got.

:P Nana and Peg Disney Traditions. I've been wanting the Nana one for ages, but they never ever got it in stock at my local H. Samuels. I've always liked the Peg one, but I remember her being quite expensive the one time I saw her in H. Samuels. Anyways, guess how much I payed for them?

...

.......

............. £5 each!

 You heard me people! £5 each! Brand new! From my fave shop in the world; TK Maxx! I loooove TK Maxx! I've bought so many Disney clothes from TK Maxx, including three Cheshire Cat tops and two Cheshire Cat jackets. :D TK Maxx is the best shop in the world, and this proves it!

Hey there,
I'm not actually a collector but just wanted to say these are lovely, and well done for your bargain! I love TK Maxx too, I have had about 6 or 7 Disney T shirts from there and a fantastic Mickey hoodie! I wonder if my local TK Maxx will have any of these lovely figures...

@ lol - :) I'm not really a collector either, as I only have one other Disney Tradition. I think they're beautiful though, and any one of them would be worth buying for that price!

@ Aveen - :D They were actually £4.99, so then with the VAT taken off they worked out even less than that. :P I just thought it would be best to round it up to £5. You should check out your local TK Maxx just incase!

TK Maxx don't sell Disney Traditions up here in the North East of England, they never have done..

:o It's worth having a look in the homewares section, just incase! I visited a different TK Maxx today and checked out the Homewares section. Although they didn't have any Disney Traditions, they did have a bunch of other stuff by Jim Shore. :) So maybe TK Maxx has recently acquired a bunch of Jim Shore stuff.

I'm wondering if it might only be in the super big stores..  :?:

Up here we have stores in>>

Byker
Darlington
Durham
Middlesborough
Newcastle
Newcastle (Kingston Park)
Stockton
Sunderland
Team Valley

But none of them are classed as super big stores shown by an asterisk on their website..  :|

Hmm. The two stores I visited both have 2 floors, so maybe those ones are classed as superstores? Still, I think if any of those TK Maxx's are close to you (like, not too far to travel) then it's worth a check. Too bad there's only two that are close to me!

I checked on the website, and yes, my local store where I bought Nana and Peg is a superstore. Although the other store I visited isn't a superstore, they did have lots of Jim Shore stuff. Just no Disney Traditions. :o Maybe I just got really lucky.

Yeah, TK Maxx is such a popular shop. :? I feel so bad for the people that work there. They have to do so much picking up after people. I've seen so many customers in there accidently drop clothes off hangers, but then not bother to pick them up. And in the shoe department I've seen people try on shoes and then just leave them right in the middle of the floor after they've finished!

 I have to say though, I've never seen anyone breast-feeding in TK Maxx.

TK Maxx can be a pretty enlightening experience if you go there at the wrong time of the day   But as I work in a city centre I've learned that the best time to go really is first thing in the morning about 9.30ish so when I'm work later I sometimes pop along on my way past.  I often get the good bargains that way as they're just putting the stock out.  I have to say though its been a good while since I last venture to the home section.  I remember seeing a framed Peter Pan poster there ages ago, around A3 size but it wasn't cheap!  Maybe I'll go and check it out tomorrow and report back with any findings.

10p !!!!!! If this was a competition, we would have already found our clean winner. 10p ?!? Brilliant.

I got a photo album from Disney Village for less than €9 (30% off promo) . Checked out album pricese in Boots today- £15 minimum. See, DLP isn't always uber-expensive.

@ Simba - :D This is proof that TK Maxx is NOT rubbish. I'm always getting great Disney stuff from there. :P This just happen to be my best Disney purchase from TK Maxx.

@ Magic - Awesome! I wish my local Disney Store had a sale that good.

o.o A second? How do you mean? All mine look exactly as they should look. Some of the ones I've seen have looked a bit faded, but they were ones that weren't in boxes. :) I've found that all DTs vary slightly. It's just the nature of their style and probably how they're made as well.

 All I know if that for £4.99 you can't go wrong.

I am near a big TKmaxx (3 storey) shop in belfast tomorrow.. If I remember I will pop in! :D I did see a Traditions ornament in it before but it wasn't Disney. I have Lucky, lady, dumbo, bambi, donald duck with the christmas lights and the large christmas bell with tinkerbell on it! lol I would love the gus and jaq box - I wouldn't care about the colours being faded because they are still DT's and still at a brilliant price! I couldn't imagine them being "seconds"...however if ya think about it if they were they would be even more unique hehe

Jim shore is very talented! Although I don't think he will personally thank me for paying £15-20 for something I could buy for £5  . Tkmaxx often has great bargins on items that you would pay double for elsewere but I don't think it means they are seconds. I bought a Disney trivia board game in it for like less than £10 last year and when I walked across to a toy store seen the exact same thing for £30! That was definately a bargin! :D/

I know they all vary a little, but these ones (we got them out of the boxes to see them properly) had dents in all the wrong places. oh well we will try again soon

Matalan have a half price sale on at the moment, they have some nice disney bits, tinker bell t-shirts (one pink, one grey, different designs) £4 each and a dark grey mickey mouse one £4
also they have some very nice pj sets with piglet on tops were £2.50 and bottoms £3 (if anyone has seen the tops can you let me know as mine has sold out :( and I got 2 pairs of the bottoms :( ) also they have matching slipper socks for just £1.50    hehe bought them for DLP

This has to be my best disney bargin ever....

I got her off ebay last week. It's Belle, she's porcelain and part of the Brass key doll collection. part of the wooden stand is a little damaged but you cant see it when displaying her. I came across her seconds before the auction ended! I paid £1.04 for the doll with £3.50 postage!! :o  :o  :o

When she came I looked at the postage cost and the seller actually paid £4.45 so he/she made hardly anything on her but its my best bargin ever and I love her! I have a few of the other brass key dolls but this one has to be my favourite! :D  :D  :D

What a great bargain with the Belle doll, Aveen. You must be so pleased.
I was doing a bit of early Christmas shopping in one of the Glasgow Disney stores yesterday, and they were selling a lovely snowglobe with Grumpy and Bashful for £5 when you spent £10 (retail price £15). So of course I couldn't resist!
Anyone else picked this up in their local Disney store?

I guess they are seriously overstocked on this snowglobe or something lol. Still, its a nice Christmas decoration to have. I was tempted by a set of tree baubles in the Disney store, I may go back and get them closer to Christmas. There were twelve, themed around the twelve days of Christmas with different Disney characters on each one.
