The Enchanted Fireworks are returning for its second year from 4 July until 30 August 2009.
Disney Central Plaza member "Pyro" confirms are again in charge of the fireworks. (//http)
At what time you can enjoy those fireworks?
George
Somewhere after 11pm. :)
Here is hoping for something different next year.
I love The Enchanted Fireworks, I wouldn't change it for any other Disney fireworks display.
Its still only 1 year old, I can see a few more years before its replaced. Maybe for the 20th?
There's no need for a new display every year.

There is a discussion on DLP.info that the fireworks may finish before the 30 August based on the fact the closing times have been changed from 11pm to 10pm in the last week of the summer season. Although 10pm is late enough for it to be dark.
Any news about that Kristof?
Yes, I read their theory. Fireworks and Fantillusion will still happen, park will just close an hour early. :)

I agree Willow I don't think it will be changed and I think it's a good show although my favourite will always be 'Wishes'! :D

Thanks Kristof =D> , I was worried, although I am a bit annoyed at management about this. Having spent all this money I'm now getting an hour less in the park for each of the three evenings that I'll be there  . Still, more time to spend in Starbucks :|
I've just watched the 2008 and 2009 versions of the show back-to-back.
2008 > 2009.
I understand there was the noise issue with last years version but.... I'm sure in a number of places that they have removed fireworks that aren't even noisy.
2009 is a worse show compared with 2008, its just not as good.
Very disappointing.
Here's a link to the Photos Magiques video of the 2009 version, filmed past Sunday!
Be sure to watch it in HD! :)

Thanks for the video! Watched it this morning on my iphone.
They're still good fireworks, still beautiful and well-chosen music, but there's definitely no doubting the original 2008 version was so much better. Even aside from the toned-down fireworks, the show this year seems a little messy in places and not as well-synchronised or symmetrical as before.
At the point where those huge "fanfare" bursts fill the sky (above), I'm confused why they removed the second shells which used to explode upwards within the fanfares. It's hard to explain, but if you saw the 2008 version you should know what I mean. There'd be the big fanfare, and then separate single white rockets firing outwards within them. It doesn't quite have the same effect now.
I can't see that they were particularly noisy..?
Lol now that's what I call a quiet firework show. But I have to agree, the 2008 was far better than this one. Much more shells up in the air.
have to agree, the 2008 fireworks were really really amazing, this year they are nice, but there is something lacking, something just not right, like the magic sparkle is gone, or the icing on the cake was removed.. there is not only the big shells gone, but i think they are using a lot lot less of the smaller fireworks.. maybe for every seven shows they will get an extra one show with the savings, but to me they are shotting themselves in the foot yet again, the summer season is when a lot of visitors come to see the magic, and if they are disapointed or see something lacking, they will notice..people seem to pick up on the negatives very quickly, then the downward spirial strarts yet again, the park become less appealing, less visitors, less money, less attractions, less new magic, less opening hours, less upkeep, early 2000 all over again...then more restructuring of dept. they have the top tourist attraction in all of europe, 17 million visitors (all based on disney quality ) i know the credit crunch, but this is the time to spend, so when good times return , the people return.. Sorry for the rant!!! phillip gas i thought because he was an original cast member would remember the magic and bring it all back but not this year!!
Well it's a far cry from 'Sparklers' I guess and yes it's not as delightful as 2008 but in my humble opinion it's still pretty impressive. It looks to me to be fairly tight with the music, with some minor exceptions I think, but yes on the whole it will still be an impressive end to a hard day and night in the park(s) =D>
As regards cutting back on costs etc, yes to the hardened park fans such as the members of this board the changes are noticable.....but to the average 'Joe' I really don't think it will make any difference whatsoever..........to most a firework display is a fireworks display, perhaps the lack of any American park 'Bangs' will be a dissapointment to some...but I think it will keep most happy

My gosh, is DLP doing anything worth while anymore? Oh dear, I was going to see if we could go for a little trip to see them this year. I thought they were better last year than they have been for over a decade, but now, almost pointless.
Is this a budget or litigation issue?
Quote from: "ulak"My version of Enchanted Fireworks in HD is here ...
Thanks, although I'm going to state the obvious and point out for any newcomers that this is last year's version.
Quote from: "davewasbaloo"Is this a budget or litigation issue?
Litigation... so we're told. Chessy doesn't much like the big bangs. I can only assume the noise of the very loud rockets at the end doesn't carry as far as the bang from a proper shell, perhaps because they're low-level and launched further from the town?
Anyone know... does DLP use the same air-launch technology they use particularly in California?
I thought they resolved that last year. I mean, they wouldn't have all those tax payers if it were not for Disney. Although there were some small hamlets and farms, the villages around DLP came to exist because of DLP.
This is SOOOOOOOO frustrating!
They look like they are using air launchers, you can kinda hear the fireworks launching but it doesn't sound like a normal firework launch.
Loads of Theme Parks have issues with the locals: Alton Towers (no more fireworks), Drayton Manor (Shockwave will probably have to get removed as its too noisy) and Legoland (Jungle Coasters stupid changes because of the screams).
Its not a surprise that DLRP also has the same issues.
Quote from: "Willow"Loads of Theme Parks have issues with the locals: Alton Towers (no more fireworks), Drayton Manor (Shockwave will probably have to get removed as its too noisy) and Legoland (Jungle Coasters stupid changes because of the screams).
I thought the legoland change was down to a nasty acident with items falling from guest pocket onto the people bellow. The changes have killed that ride as far as I am concerned.
If it was just the noise you would think they could give extra magic in other ways like the Flying Dumbo at DL or some other magical effect. I suspect this is a budget driven change and the noise issue is a convient divertion. The guest reaction will vary and I not sure an overheard comment is not a indication of wider satisfaction. I will be there for the last show of the summer so I am not watching the video so I make up my own mind. I did not see last years either. To be honest I was not keen on WDW's Wishes and found the DLP version more interesting with the laser effects again adding magic in other, and dare I say it more enviromentally friendly ways. I hate to think what the effect of Epcots show is even if it is the best firework show I've seen with the best Disney score in my humble opinion.
I would think dear Mr Gas has quiet a financial balancing act on his hands and to some degree I'm happy to see a few less shells and a few more effects working in the park.
One interesting question to those in the know. Does this year show require the same level of park closure as last year? Am I right that Pirates had to be closed as park of the prep last year? Is the same true this year?
Quote from: "davewasbaloo"I thought they resolved that last year. I mean, they wouldn't have all those tax payers if it were not for Disney. Although there were some small hamlets and farms, the villages around DLP came to exist because of DLP.

The whole summer season is frustrating this year. Some attractions opening at 3 pm, some closing at 6 pm, no quality Disneyland Park shows, Fantillusion with only 2 stops (we were standing at Gibson Girl, none of the parade stops were visual there) and a disappointing [strike:3hx0doa1]grand[/strike:3hx0doa1] finale of the day.... [-(
I am currently in Serris/val d'europe, i can see the parks, mainly the castle clearly and monday night 11pm... 0 noise! so surely it cant be much louder over is chessy?
Quote from: "Kristof"Fantillusion with only 2 stops
That is still the biggest disappointment, because there's just no reason for it. Is it that much harder or more expensive to run three stops? Surely not, it ran like that for 2 or 3 years no problem.
Since it was built entirely with the fancy transformations and show stops in mind, it comes across a bit dull as a continuous parade. And if you'd rather ride attractions than watch the parade -- oop, sorry, most of those close early now.
We're a long, long way from when you could see fireworks on weekends in June, and electrical parades right through from January to March, aren't we? :(
Update: The Enchanted Fireworks will be performed at 10.45pm from 24 - 30 August 2009.
Oh and to add, the encore finale has been updated with continuous "shhhhhhhhhhhh" fireworks, if that makes sense, in an effort to create more "noise".
Hi Just a quick question watched a few videos and was wondering at the very start as the sky lights go up the castle is it just me or does it look like tinkerbell's gliter is working in this video //http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eqTALVaeUXk

Yes Tink is definitely doing her pixie dust stuff at the beginning.
Has that been there forever ?

yes me to! i totally love the enchanted fireworks i saw them last year for my 18th birthday and i was amazed but nothing can top the wishes fireworks i don't if they were the same as the ones in florida but it's the music that amazed me at first
What about this year's show?
Its Enchanted again :) x Yes I know that among some the fireworks are not so great compared to Wishes, but I havent seen them yet so looking forward to seeing them :)
I think Enchanted is a good show for DLP. The only thing is that it needs something more explosive, spectacular. Maybe, I would add some fire, some new loud fireworks (don't worry, if Chessy does not sleep, guests will pay the bill).
I don't know, but I like Enchanted more than Wishes. That show was created for the Magic Kingdom, and I think It required things that DLP couldn't offer.
The big problem is that DLP doesn't have a lagoon inside a park. Otherwise, they save 20.000€ per show.
From DCP's Facebook... Testing of the Enchanted Fireworks ready for Saturday (I believe) :D
(//http://img5.imageshack.us/img5/3476/36713101502187683356152.jpg)
Ohhh... That red spark seems to be those loud fireworks. Could anyone go to the park next saturday and film the show? Please!
Found a nice visual on DCP's Facebook page... but I'm slightly confused because:
A) The Earffel Tower is in Discoveryland
B) The fireworks have nothing to do with the Studios since it's already closed at that time :?
Still a nice visual...
EDIT: They've flipped the castle aswell! I thought those days were over...

Anyone going soon to film it for us? ;)
I still don't understand why DLP use these mad fireworks visuals. Isn't it false advertising, or doesn't that apply? Won't they just leave people disappointed? They're just repeating again that Disneyland is all about the "big fireworks at the end of the day", which is something DLP can't often provide.
Fantastic quality designs though.
Exactly, it is totally false advertising. It seems to be the "fireworks around the park" from the Magic Kingdom.
Here it is! :D

OOOH! AHHHHH! Beautiful :D
I've not seen them for myself, but there seems to be more noise this year than last-or am I imagining it?
They do seem louder, especially at the finale! The whole production this year looks a little more polished that last years, I'd still love to see them develop a quieter bang 'finale' firework just if they use 3 of them to frame the castle, it'd make it stand up as being more of a worldwide standard fireworks show.
Last year was the first time I saw the fireworks and I thought they were amazing. I love the music from Enchanted - utterly beautiful. So if they're even better this year - great!

Judging by the decorations on the castle, its seems this video shows the Enchanted Fireworks from 2009. This year there aren't any projections on the castle.
I think you wrong, there is projections on the castle this year, look at video on page 2. clearly projections

Sorry, I didn't watch the video before but now I did. You're right. I thought I read somewhere that there wouldn't be any projections this year. My fault.
I suppose the orange fever is in my system at the moment. :P
That is last years castle though!
I'm a little confused by the castle! It has Tink at the top, but none of the other decorations on it, has Tink been readded for the fireworks? Or is it just a video which is cleverly disguising the rest of the decorations - sure the hideous Mickey Head would be visible?
The other decorations are on it, if you mean the gold mickey heads on the turrets, if you're talking about the last video? That was from last year. This years castle has no mickey decoration, but it still has tink at the top i think.

No worries, and good luck today in the final.... i think holland can do it..
I still wonder where is the truth between the big fireworks and the noise permit and Disney being Cheap. I live in the center of Copenhagen with Tivoli amusement park 5 minutes by walk. Tivoli is right in the city center. During summer season june to september they have a nightly fireworks display around 11pm, some period every night, some period every weekend. The display is about 8 minutes and includes large bomb shells similar to WDW. Before i actually saw the display and few weeks before only heard the bomb explosions in my aparment i though that is how it probably sounds to the people living next to DLP, thinking they are using just the small bombs like when enchanted fireworks started, because it was ok and with closed windows i could watch tv or sleep hearing the bombs slightly in the background. To my surprise the bombs noise was from the large bomb shells, i never imagined they would use them nightly in the city center. I cant understand all the fuss the people around DLP are making if i could thought of the noise of large bomb shells as the small ones how can they complain about the actuall small ones. And Tivoli is in city center, not like DLP in a middle of nowhere! Plus most of the people moved to live around DLP after it opened. I know it is a different country but who knows Denmark, knows how Danes are keen and strict on everything environmental and good living conditions and everything up with the standards. Thats about the noise part. From the buget part Tivoli attracts around 4 million people and Disney Paris around 14 million, dont talk to me about buget please. Did i mention Tivoli does fireworks also in the winter?

I think Filip you also have to bare in mind the country and area of the theme park. Disney is VERY lucky they are not situated in England for example. The park I used to work in over here could only have fireworks for 3 nights and the display had very big restrictions on it due to being in a 'residential' area. Many guests asked time and time again to have the fireworks extended but the true of the matter was they were bound by what the local council told them were permitted.
I used to live round the corner from the Atonium in Brussels where they held a lot of events. Those shell fireworks made our windows shake so much I was scared the glass was going to shatter and that was a one off that started at midnight, not a firework display that was every night for the summer so I can totally understand why Disney are restricted on their firework time.

I just read your blog entry about this, facinating and a good read!
Apologies for bringing up a more forgotten topic, but I've just seen a video of Tokyo Disneyland's "Disney Magic In The Sky" fireworks, and I can honestly say that compared to that show, Enchanted Fireworks looks like Wishes. I'm slightly astonished that this show is running, the fireworks don't sit behind the Castle, but to the side, and they seem to be 1 or 2 at a time, in a repeating pattern. For a show with 'Magic' in the title, I think these are up there as Disney's least magical fireworks!
[youtube:2rnaqetd]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CZW_Scyudm0&feature=feedrec_grec_index[/youtube:2rnaqetd]
I was always a fan of Enchanted Fireworks, I thought they were very classy, but these show just makes me feel that much better about ours!
"And now... Disney Magic in the Sky. And now, the grand finale of... Disney Magic in the Sky. That was... Disney Magic in the Sky." Wow, imagine if DLP did that in every language!
Those fireworks are "shared" with DisneySea, aren't they? That's perhaps why they're launched from a funny angle.
Yeah thats exactly the reason why the fireworks are to te side and not behind the castle. They share the same fireworks both tokyo disneyland and tokyo disneysea park.
