A FantaStitch Halloween

Bye bye Pumpkin Men...
... welcome Stitch!
Disneyland Park will replace the Pumpkin Men this year with Stitch and his adventures!

... during the Halloween season ;-)
ARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGH! Why is it when DLRP get a great concept that they take it away? I hated the 2D Halloween Stitch cut-out in Frontierland, so I think the whole theme will suck!!
Does anyone know what sort of things he will be doing, maybe he will terrorise the park like he did when he covered the WDW castle in toilet paper for the opening of Stitch's great escape!

If they did that, then it could be a good chance for them to rehab the castle too, couldn't it?
I'm not sure about the idea of a Stitch invasion at Halloween. For a start, it's not very "halloweenish", but also wouldn't it get a bit boring seeing Stitch everywhere? The great thing about the Pumpkinmen is that there's lots of different incarnations of them, meaning that even though they're a bit ugly, they don't get boring.
And I'd also be worried about how big the festival would be if they started from scratch with a new theme - I wouldn't like to see it downsized like Easter will be this year.
Stitch is popular though, so if they made some good publicity stuff for the season then it would probably help attendance.
In fact Stitch will hunt the pumpkin men out of Main Street,
the pumpkin men and others pinkladies will still be in Frontierland, but not the main focus of the marketing. This year's season would lead to the theme of 2007 Halloween which 'll have to be in connexion with the 15th Anniversary Celebration.
:( The Pumpkin Men were one of the things that I was really looking forward to in October...don't get me wrong, I love Stitch to bits, but I just don't see how he's gonna be better than random pumpkin people running around all over the place... :? *Sigh* My first Halloween at Disney and already it's not gonna be as good as I had hoped...
You don't know that yet! Halloween has one of the biggest budgets in the resort, so I'm sure they'll make it big.
I love Stitch--but what has he to do more with Halloween (my birthay, by the way *g*) than the pumpkin men have?!? :?
I loved it that the pumpkin men played trick or treat with me... mmh, free sour halloween candies ;)
Quote from: "raptor1982"You don't know that yet! Halloween has one of the biggest budgets in the resort, so I'm sure they'll make it big.
:( It is a shame though... *Hopes more than ever now that she'll get to meet Gaston*
Probably he will be out, coz he's in the Villains Parade :d
Quote from: "flor"Probably he will be out, coz he's in the Villains Parade :d
 I wanna hug him...
Push your way through the crowd and under the rope and hope for the best! He's high up on the cake and cutlery of the Beauty & the Beast float, but if you jump high enough and grab on you might just make it before the guest flow teams have chance to radio for support.
Not that I condone attacking Disney characters and parades. :P
Or you could wait until the Christmas Season where he is out for meet and greetings 5 times a day in Belle's Christmas Village. :)
I definately prefer Ant's way of thinking so adventurously fun  , but I have to say stitch coming is gonna be erm interesting seen what it's like in Tokyo lately with Stitch invasion lets have a look :(

Personally I'm not liking this look and I just hope they don't bring it to Paris like this.
Aloha?? On Halloween?? Sounds like Easter season
I love Stitch and the designs are really sweet, but they definitely don't fit to the Halloween season. The pumpkin men are much better for this. Is it already official that the pumpkin men will leave DLRP? :(
Yes, but they won't be completely gone yet this year! They'll still be present at Frontierland, but Stitch is taking over slowly.
QuoteIf they did that, then it could be a good chance for them to rehab the castle too, couldn't it?
They are using the Stitch event at Tokyo to cover up the castle rehab:
Isn't that the most ugliest thing you've ever seen in a Disney Themepark???
i realy dont like this idea. Its gonna look tackey and im not pleased
I would rather have a nice big green censtruction fence instead of that  . Still if that's what they will even think about doing in Paris maybe they should keep the pumpkinmen and cover the castle but in pumpkin orange as they painted it  .
The decorations for this weird Stitch event are hideous. The parade floats are even worse! It just seems like a complete waste of money and parade floats to create something that bad!
But anyway, it is very interesting to see how TDL are handling their castle refurb, since it's possible DLRP will be watching and taking notes as well. We still don't know dates for our castle refurb, but if it takes place during Halloween, then it'd be more than a slight coincidence with these rumours of a Stitch invasion - WDW's castle was ruined by Stitch when his attraction opened, and it'd be a good way for DLRP to make an event out of a complaint. They could even have Stitch doing meet n greets in front of the castle walkway (which will be closed).
The execution of the TDL is horrible, but the idea is quite good.
The whole "Stitch wrecks the park!" thing still doesn't seem very Halloweenish though...
hi all
we booked to go to dlrp in october. we weren't going to do halloween until next year but were so dissappointed about the pumpkin men going we are visiting this year so we can at least see them in frontierland if nowhere else.
anyway, we're looking forward to it as its a bonus holiday!!
DLP did a good job with the castle rehab a few yars ago. They did an Emporium-style banner to cover it up. A blend of that and a seasonable design would be kinda cool.
Thinking about it, the castle is really needed for the summer fireworks and the Christmas E.F.C so Halloween would be a good time do do it!
The rumours were absolutely true! Here's a new press release, just out:

:( Still not happy about this... :? I don't even want to tell my cousin who's going with us about this...she HATES Stitch! :? I'm sorry, but I just don't see how it's going to work... this will be my first DLRP Halloween trip and already I know it's not going to be as good as we had first hoped when we planned the trip...
I got informed that the "Télé-Freak" between Thunder Mesa and Big Thunder Mountain will not return this year.
omg there cutting out soooo much! i only hope everything will retern next year
Halloween is changing, the "Télé-Freak" is no longer part of the story, so it will never return. By the way, it took 2 helicopters to install that thing.
Oh no!
Not Stitch! Possibly the most annoying disney character that was ever conjured up is going to be scattered around the theme park this halloween. i aggree with what people are saying, there's no way that could work! I'm glad the pumpkin men will still be there and the pink witches but seeing the most annoying character (in my eyes anyway) everywhere is NOT GOOD!
You can't take away the timeless traditions of a disney halloween. The pumpkin men, the pink witches, the disney villains, the decorations (that are orange and black - not Blue) I think DLRP would be making a mistake with a stitch invasion - a big mistake.
Oh well. let's not forget this is disney, and with their magic truly anything is possible. Let's just say, I trust the mouse.
Peter Pan :peter:
Hey all, as I can read, the most of you are not happy with Stitch coming to celebrate Halloween in October.
I have read the concept, and I only can say. It will be good, the focus won't only be Stitch. The Pumpkin Men and the Pink Witches will be in the park.
Just wait to say it's bad, till I have the confirmation to put some more details online.
thx for that flor
Stitch should definitely provide more amusement for the younger visitors, although adding him in whilst keeping the Disney Villains, the Pumpkinmen and Pink Witches and the classic Disney characters, will produce a rather dodgy mix of very different ideas that might not balance out too well. We'll see. I'm still not sure what the "stitch invasion" will actually involve, so it's hard to say whether his involvement will make the season better or worse.
Just one question - is the name "A FantaStitch Halloween" confirmed by DLRP, or just a Raptor/flor creation? 8)
It's the DLRP Concept name. Till further notice, that's the official name. ;-)
Sounds like Stitch will be featuring quite heavily then...
At least it's not as bad as "Simba's FiROARworks", even if its the same kind of idea. It's actually quite a nice name really, and I suppose works in the same way as "A Fairytale Christmas".
At Christmas they have "A Hollywood Christmas" and "A Fairytale Christmas", so once WDS hopefully gets in on the Halloween fun, could we see "A FantaStitch Halloween" and something else?
The Halloween logo that was introduced last year isn't supposed to be allowed again this year, instead the old "Mickey pumpkin" logo has to used.
Quote from: "raptor1982"The Halloween logo that was introduced last year isn't supposed to be allowed again this year, instead the old "Mickey pumpkin" logo has to used.
Uhm... what did last year's logo look like? :-s
Last years logo:
It wasn't a very good logo. Not only was it a bit uninspired, but it was hard to use well...
The only Mickey pumpkin one is worse though, it's like a product of the very very first Adobe Illustrator...
i much prefered the mickey halloween one. Maybe for the stich theme insted of mickey it could be stich
Oh I like the idea of Halloween with Stitch very much. To bad I cannot book a third trip this year. I hope Stitch will be there next year on Halloween too, so I have the chance to see him ! Really I think he fits to Halloween and till now most of the concepts of DLP for their seasons turned out to work good. And the Pumpkin Men and Pink Witches are not totally gone, that's great too. So it will be a good mix up. That the Télé - freak is gone is fine. Sorry but I really don't liked it. In my opinion it looked ugly. But that's just my opinion.
The logo looks so simple going back to this:
It works but I dunno I prefer the newer logo, more modern and it's already been used on marketing in some brochures in the UK anyway so I think it should just stay as last years not to confuse people. Plus I like them both I dunno last years just had something which the opld one doesn't have.
yea maybe just the pumpkin head with the new logo saying halloween underneath just to mordernise it
(//http://img285.imageshack.us/img285/7530/hd075539zk.jpg)
Finally someone's posted it good lol, really I like it and the whole fact that stitch is smaller then pumpkinman and captain hook really does bring great hope also I really do like this concept art :D .
Cooool! DLRP are getting so good at these key visuals now! :D It seems like a very odd mish-mash of characters, but I suppose that would have been the same problem whatever design they chose.
This year's Halloween should be good in that it'll have themes appealing to more people - there's Stitch, the classic Disney Villains and then the world of the Pumpkinmen. It makes it much more varied, if a little bit random.
Edit: Here's a bigger version, if anyone wants a closer look. (//http://www.dlrpmagic.com/outsidepics/halloween2006.jpg)
 Still not happy about it, although the idea is kinda growing on me... :? I still say Cheshire Cat would be a better choice than Stitch, regardless of whether or not Stitch os uber-popular...if they really needed a fuzzy critter running around, Cheshire would've been best...
They sent out a new email newsletter today which links to this preview page: http://www.disneylandparis.com/uk/promo ... en0706.htm (http://www.disneylandparis.com/uk/promotion/halloween0706.htm)
There's a surprising amount of info about the events on there, but because the text is in JPGs I can't copy it onto here. Great to see they're advertising it so soon this year anyway, usually they leave it till the last minute. :)
Not so different from last year, but that's ok.
Two remarks:
- It seems they'll use Jack Sparrow to attract visitors for some time to come now, not only this summer. It would be nice for him to have his own show, like in Florida and California.
- -FantaSticht Stage: will they transform Fantasy Stage, or do they mean the stage from last year, next to Cowboy Cookout Barbecue?
I'll visit Halloweenland for three days, but not on 31 October.
Quotedo they mean the stage from last year, next to Cowboy Cookout Barbecue?
Yes!
Oh sounds like fun as ever, must visit and must book up soon and must be there on 31st October, wow that's a lot of must I really have been missing Pumpkinmen :D . Nice to see them advertising it so early maybe a step in the right direction for profit, wrong direction for guest flow  .
Last Tuesday, photos were being taken for promotional perpouses for the Halloween event.

I hope they create a stitch costume without the hawaiian necklace (I think it's called a Lei) for the Halloween season. He just looks stupid wearing that in Halloween things, it makes him totally un-scary and un-mischievous...

your right, I never thought about that before! What about an orange one or maybe that would make him look tacky.
For him to look mischievous he would need to look a mess!
Quote from: "Fantillusion"your right, I never thought about that before! What about an orange one or maybe that would make him look tacky.

Yeah! An orange and black one would look great. Or they could give him devil horns, or a dracula cape and fangs...
Great, I always thought that stitch was a little devil anyway! Will stitch be in the villain parade? I thought that they could have a small only villain float fantillusion on october 31st and before to have as a small extra. It would be funny to see stitch wrapped in lights with the box on hs head to make it seem like stitch mucked up the xmas decorations to try and make a halloween costume. (a villain float only fantillusion would probably be to short though).
Thanks
Fanti
Stitch will take part in the Villains Parade together with some other Disney Characters who will celebrate a FantaStitch Halloween. And there will be a little Fantillusion chapter on the Halloween night ;-).
Sorry about my obsesiveness of Fantillusion, I am Fantillusion in the brain! If I got my way Fanti would be running every night!
DLRP just sent out a Halloween offer email: http://info.magicleisure.net/I?a=A9X7Cq ... H6I2cgHj1g (http://info.magicleisure.net/I?a=A9X7Cqk5VBi08SrGH6I2cgHj1g) and here: http://www.disneylandparis.com/uk/email ... UK0906.htm (http://www.disneylandparis.com/uk/emailing/offer1-UK0906.htm)
Is that a proper new Halloween logo, or is it just something they cobbled together for this email? I quite like it...
The new Halloween mini site has been launched now and it looks actually good considering it is simply a season and not a new attraction etc.

I thing that Halloween page is really great and I must say I love the game with Stich re-decorating the Disneyland Park but... I don`t know if I`m really gonna love this in reality... I mean the pictures from Tokyo on the 1st page of this topic are horrible... I hope that in DLRP they won`t do so many BAD things and ruin all the things that PumpkinMen did - I'm glad that some PumpkinMen will survive at least in Frontierland
The page of course have some disadvantages for example if you are from a different country than mentioned (like me) you can choose "autres" but only it is only in french... of course you can choose UK instead but than the Special Offer might not apply... like in my case again...
Oh BTW on the MagicHalloween page there is a video from last years Halloween and it`s pretty cool but... it shows Pumkinmen who won`t be the main issue in this years Halloween, right?
An an employee at the Park in Tokyo and Paris id say the photos of the stitch invasion on the first page didnt do it much justice, it was a really fun time in the park then and guests loved it so im looking forward to seeing it wen i get bk

Yeah, it looks nice! Though the Lilo & Stitch background music is a bit strange. Have you watched the short 2005 video? The 3D DLRP logo at the end is a bit weird...

The video is cool :) But you`re right that the logo at the end doesn'`t fit with the rest... I would rather see there the logo which is at the end of the video on disneylandparis.com site :)
A little news on Halloween (just got back so not sure if it has been posted already...)
Yesterday the paint mining contraption started to re-appear in Frontierland.
And this morning the Big Pumpkin on Central Plaza was completed.
Oh cool, so it is going up even though BTM is being repainted, cool :D , thanks for the pic  .
Wow... thanks for the photo... :-)
For some time I was even wondering if this year they are going to place this mining thing ;-)

15th-17th October - HNY
I thought the orange paint mine contraption wasn't returning this year. So glad that it is, although who would have thought a huge pilon in a Disney park would look so good!
Blimey, they're about two weeks early! I thought the téléfreak wasn't returning this year too... maybe the rumours that Holz didn't like it weren't true?
Does anyone know if the Phantom Cruise Lines will be back this year? Last year's Halloweenland must have seemed strange without it.
I thought it was quite early too. when does the season actually start?
7th October to 5th November 2006, about 1 week later than normal.
QuoteBlimey, they're about two weeks early! I thought the téléfreak wasn't returning this year too... maybe the rumours that Holz didn't like it weren't true?
I got told that only certain parts of the téléfreak would return, without the actual cable. But things tend to change quit fast overthere.
Quote from: "PATMAGIC"http://www.magichalloween.com/
I just noticed they say Dingo instead of Goofy on the "Music Shows" page... :? They're usually ok with their English versions of things, I hope this is a one-off.
Quote from: "raptor1982"I got told that only certain parts of the téléfreak would return, without the actual cable. But things tend to change quit fast overthere.
Without the cable makes sense. I guess the BTM section won't appear either, it'll just be the tower and the giant paint pot. If you watch that video on the Halloween website, these are the only sections they show, it's quite quickly edited so you don't see any more than that...
The 3D logo that you refer to is also on the opening of the new DVD from DLRP Une Adventure Magique. Looks like its part of the new marketing
The latest entertainment showtimes (//http://www.disneylandparis.com/uk/disneyland_park/parades_and_shows/parade_schedule.htm) for October are listing the Disney Villain Parade, La Piñata and something simply called "La Cavalcade". Is that the "CharacteriStitch Halloween Party", do you think?
I thought it would be more like the Carnival Fever Party during Kids Carnival (character meet n greets, face painting, street performers) rather than a "cavalcade"... :?
Quote"La Cavalcade". Is that the "CharacteriStitch Halloween Party", do you think?
Yes it is.
Hey guys, i'm new to this forum. I thought i would join as i'm taking my second trip this year to DLP for the halloween event, and i was just wondering, what do you all mean when you talk about the téléfreak? I seem to remeber watching a video from last halloween i think and i remeber there being a large stone grim reaper or something in the lake by BTM? Is that what you are all on about? If so, is that going to be returning this year?
Thanks
-Nath
This is the Téléfreak: :)
So it's just a line with pumpkin men or models hanging off it?
Also, is the stone grim reaper going to return this year?

._. I'm so looking forward to October now... *Has finally come round to the idea of a Stitch-invested Halloween* o.o;
I got told by a friend yesterday that they're changing the music slighty for the parade. He was talking about a mix between Boo to you (WDW) and It's Halloween-lo-ween. And he also claims that there will be additional smaller floats. Can anyone confirm this?
l love the idea of new floats but l wish they wouldn't change the music. l love the halloween lo ween tune
Boo To You will be used for the Pink Witch preshow, so I have been told. As for It's Halloween-lo-ween, apparently new sound effects have been added and someone said it ends differently. Maybe they've looped it or something? I haven't a clue.
There's been strong rumours of Stitch appearing in/on a box float which is likely to open with surprises falling out. This would continue the Stitch theme into the parade (like the Pumpkinmen and Witches) and possibly help tell the story of his invasion a bit more.
Here's a guide to 2006's parade based on that news:
http://www.dlrp.thedisneyfamily.com/ent ... arade.html (http://www.dlrp.thedisneyfamily.com/entertainment/villainsparade.html)
They've finally covered the front of Disneyland Hotel in scaffolding to repaint it:
Reason I post this here is - do you think there's a chance they could cover it in some kind of Halloween/Stitch decorations, like the Emporium covering and Cars billboard? :?
It does seem very convenient that they suddenly started work on this at the start of Halloween, after holding off for a few weeks.
aghrrr no l don't like this... that's MY hotel they're covering up couldnt they wait another week?? suppose you're booked into one of the covered rooms
Any news or pictures of the Halloween Season 2006 yet?
I've heard they use the normal parade exit gates in Town Square to launch and finish the small "La Cavalcade". It uses a large cast of Pumpkin Men and Pink Witches invading Main Street, before Stitch's laughter is heard and the doors open to reveal Stitch aboard a new small float, and mayhem is guaranteed.
They also use Mickey and Minnies horse and cart here, with Donald and Grunzella (sp?) aboard. This is no-longer used in the villians parade, nor are the manually pushed floats which are all now featured in "La Cavalcade"
I haven't heard anything yet, but thanks for the info you posted! I'll be very impressed if Stitch does have his own float like that. :)
Kristof is back sometime on Sunday, but I guess the french forums will have stuff later tonight and tomorrow...
It is pretty frustrating not knowing what I'll be participating in by next Monday, I've tried ringing some of my friends/collegues in Paris but they were either off today, don't know or only know what I know all ready.
Very Annoying  :x :)
I'm not sure if it is a real new float that Stitch has, that's what I was told - however I can't imagine they'd build a brand new float for a small bit of Streetmosphere. I'd guess at it being either a modified golf buggy (ala Mickey's car) or perhaps the Toy Solders mini-float from the Christmas Parade has been changed for the season?
Time will tell, i'm just so impatient when it comes to infomation/pictures from the DLRP seasons - but its always pretty slow like this every Christmas and Halloween. :D
Quote from: "Poppy The Monkey"It is pretty frustrating not knowing what I'll be participating in by next Monday, I've tried ringing some of my friends/collegues in Paris but they were either off today, don't know or only know what I know all ready.
Lol, I forgot you'd be performing in it! They don't do a good job of preparing their performers do they?
I suppose they could modify some of the Kids Carnival stuff for Halloween, since it won't be used next year unless the Once Upon a Dream Parade uses it. Something about the size of Ariel's carnival carriage would be good enough for Stitch.
Finally a bit more information.
On the stage near the Cowboy Cookout there are 3 different shows
1 - Goofy stars with the Pumpkinmen and hip-hop dancers.
2 - Stitch plays some steel drums with the pumpkin men.
3 - Stitch and Donald accompany a group by musicians who play famous Disney villians themes (Be prepared, poor unfortunate souls ... etc. )
For the cavalcade, it uses the old pedal floats from the first halloween parade and some from the Villians parade.
Stitch's float is in fact the red Pumpkinmen painting machine from last year.
Just before the main parade The Pink Witches appear in Town Square and follow the parade route backwards, as they hunt for the Pumpkinmen and Disney Villians, featuring the music from "Boo too you" in WDW. This acts as a pre-parade.
In the villians parade there are apparently no more large pumpkin bubbles, or mini-pedal floats. The parade opens with an army of about 10 Pumpkinmen and the small manually-pushed floats. This is followed by the Carollers/Snow White/Christmas float which this year carry's Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Donald, Chip and Dale. Stitch appears at the back of the float wearing a Pumpkinman mask
After this there are a group of good characters which today included Scrooge, Alice, Dee and Dum, Basil the fox, Bibi Rabbit, Prince Jean, Peter Pan, Baloo, King Louie and more.
After this the parade is apparently identical to last year.
I still want pictures though! :D
Wow, sounds like quite a big spectacle! I've always liked how big the Villains parade felt in previous years, with all the extra dance sections, and it sounds even better from your nice detective work... :)
Does the Cavalcade have a proper name? I haven't heard "CharacteriStitch Halloween Party" used for quite a while now.
You could tell I rushed to write that piece above, my spelling was atrocious and it didn't even make much sense. :?
It should be almost perfect now after a quick edit. 8)
It is listed on the official site as just "La Cavalcade" - I actually prefer that unimaginative title to "CharacteriStitch Halloween Party" - which is way too much of a tounge-twister for me.
Not sure what the offical title is though.
:D Eee, it all sounds great! :P Will anyone be posting pictures anytime soon? I wanna see how hot the guy playing Gaston is this year...

Hey guys, great photogrpahs there, dying to go now.
I'm actually taking a 4 day trip there starting form this monday the 16th till the thursday the 19th, was just wondering, although halloween is a big thing for disney, i was just wondering could you tell me if it's going to be extreamly busy? As i'm going in the weekdays, i'm hoping a lot of people would be in school etc still.
can anyone give me any information?
Thank you :)
I heard that all Disney hotels are complete full the coming weeks.
Oh great...
I know you can get fast track in disney as i went for the first time in march, but i was just wondering, is there any "special" ticket you can buy like you can get in the uk themeparks that enables you to queue jump or anything simular?
Quote from: "Nath"I know you can get fast track in disney as i went for the first time in march, but i was just wondering, is there any "special" ticket you can buy like you can get in the uk themeparks that enables you to queue jump or anything simular?
No there isn't - and I hope there never will be. Besides, they're probably not even needed in DLRP. I wouldn't be too concerned about queue times, they're very rarely that high in DLRP, since by the time they built the resort in 92 the Imagineers knew how to keep guests moving, it's all well designed in that respect. The only attractions with constantly long queues are BTM and Peter Pan's Flight.
Just grab a few fastpasses, pick your queues wisely and you'll be fine.
Ok thanks very much guys :)
I see what you mean, the only problem i had in march was with BTM and peter pan, i don't understand with btm as it was on 4 train operation.
They have room!!!
I just booked up for DLRP halloween at about 17:30 GMT, 11 Oct. - The girl on the phone said all they have left is from the 25th Oct onwards at Cheyenne, NPBC, HNY. They have room at a couple of the "off site" hotels like Pierre & Vacances etc. Just paid £166 for 2 nights in Cheyenne (inc discount for dream pass) for 25th/26th Oct.
P.S. Also got told that an arab family has booked a whole floor of the Disney hotel for Christmas, cost = £250,000 (approx 350,000 euro) OMFG!!!!

Kerching! That's 1/20th of the Stitch Encounter paid for!
Fantastic for disney!!!! Did they get a dreams discount l wonder :-k
:) We're in the Cheyenne from the 30th to the 1st... :D I'm really looking forward to it, as I always loved the look of that hotel whenever we passed it on our way to the parks from the Santa Fe...
 And OMG, that's crazy... then again though, if I won the lottery tonight, I'd be booking up a whole floor in the Disneyland Hotel too!
Just watched a video of la Cavalcade and my god what is this, the year Disney parks go insane with Hallowishes  . So that's WDW fireworks 2005 and now and then HKDL took on a small section of the Haunted Mansion speil part in their apparently tuiny not just mini halloween parade. Now DLRP take on the whole music and edit it slightly and very well by the sounds of it to matching the cavalcade, also noted something like Tokyo Disneyland's Pumpkin Kingdom Parade music from 2005 at TDL :) , really strangely for such a small thing I'm impressed. Oh yeah isn't using Lilo and Stitch catch a Wave Party music a bit of a cheat :P .
Quote from: "PATMAGIC"also noted something like Tokyo Disneyland's Pumpkin Kingdom Parade music from 2005 at TDL :).
Raptor told me there was some Tokyo music in there.. I should have known to ask you to identify it. 8)
Which Catch the Wave Party music do they use?
I think the Cavalcade looks nice, but one thing bugs me - what costume is stitch meant to be wearing?
LOL yeah I seem to be able to figure anything out  , the catch wave party music is haiwaiin roller coaster ride, which just reminds me way too much of kids turning around in circles and oing the hula from the summer  . I believe Stitch is mean't to be wearing some type of Pumpkinman follower outfit, as in he wants to paint or something.
The Hawaiian Rollercoaster Ride song is actually a slight different version, as it was used in the Find Stitch Parade at Tokyo Disneyland. 8)
I'm not sure when this is from (it was published last week but might be from last year), but Metro had a nice article last week about one of their journalists attempting to take part in the Disney Villain Parade:
Quote from: "Metro"Don't take the Mickey...
'Can you dance?' asks Madeline Aveson-Gruber, head of casting at Disneyland Paris.
'Well, I can affect some pseudo-salsa moves when drunk,' I reply.
'Sorry, but that's not good enough. To be a pirate, you need to have dance training. You'll be a scarecrow instead.'
Great. Within seconds of having my pirate fantasy shattered, Madeline seems to be insinuating that I have no brain. And there was me thinking Disneyland was where dreams came true... One of the reasons I'm here is that I'm about to become the first journalist to take part in Disney's daily parade.
And to be fair to Madeline, I'm beginning to agree about the lack of grey matter; the other reason I'm here is I can't keep my mouth shut. A few months ago, I mentioned to a Disney employee that I thought the parade was the park's weakest attraction.
It may seem an innocuous remark but not to Disney staff. The street performance has been the 4pm focal point at the parks for more than 30 years and so, before I knew it, a challenge was issued. The famously secretive company would offer me backstage access if I agreed to mount one of the floats.
So a few hours after talking to Madeline, the entertainment team's Marie-Claire Baye-Pouey is taking me backstage to get ready for 2006's inaugural Hallowe'en parade. We enter the building and head into a busy corridor where other cast members in various stages of undress rush up and down; a glimpse into a laundry room reveals a horrifying behind-the-scenes sight: a Tigger outfit drip-drying from a washing line.
In the make-up room, show director Emmanuel Lenormand explains my role while a woman smears paint on my face: 'There are five floats, seven sets of dancers and you're with the VIP characters on the first float. All you have to do is clap, wave and look happy.'
If I only had a brain
From a rehearsal room next door, I overhear a choreographer berate cast members as the parade's theme tune, Hallowe'en-Lo-Ween, echoes through the wall.
We now move outside to the starting point, hidden from the crowds by huge iron doors. There's a steely determination among the cast members; all that can be heard is stage manager Richard Pusse co-ordinating with his seven assistants via walkie-talkie.
The main characters - Mickey, Minnie, Goofy and Chip 'n Dale - arrive and we're introduced, though none actually speaks. In an attempt to ingratiate myself, I pull a trick on Goofy, offering my hand before pulling away at the last second. He shakes his head wearily. Richard gives the order to board floats; the gates swing open and we roll slowly forward.
The Hallowe'en-Lo-Ween song blasts out and I frantically wave and dance around but most of the children look unimpressed. As we trundle along, I feel myself getting light-headed. The sun is beating down - and under my three layers of scarecrow outfit, I'm sure I'm melting before the children's eyes.
Goofy offers encouragement by giving me a high five and I feel like an idiot for my earlier trick. Surely we're nearly at the end of the route I think, only to turn and see we've gone no more than 30m.
The children's faces continue to press against the barriers and I realise how hard it is to keep everyone happy. Some have joyous looks and some wave back, while others gaze blankly past me, hoping to catch the attention of a real Disney character. Finally, we round a corner and another set of vast gates open. I think it's all over and begin to relax, only to see the other characters are continuing to dance until the last of the crowd is out of sight.
The float comes to a halt and some of the cast remove their heads - a forgivable break from character given the stifling heat.
Goofy - minus head - comes up and congratulates me. Drained with nervous exhaustion, I take my scarecrow hat off to him. A small gesture, but one that should be extended to anyone who does this on a daily basis.

I've actually seen that guy sitting on the float last week... He wasn't doing much than just sitting there...
Edit:
:P The guy has guts though, it has to be said... :o I'd be too scared to take part in a parade... :) I remember the days when Parade characters would actually give me the time of day because I was only a little girl... as much as I wanted the characters on the floats to wave specifically at me, I was scared of the ones on the ground coming up and hugging me or trying to dance with me...
Heya guys, i'm pretty new to this forum, so not 100% sure how it opperates compared to another i am part of.
Was just wondering, does anyone have the boo to you and/or the cavacalade music hosted on the net somewhere? If so, please could someone link me to it to download. If not, is it possible if somebody could send me the songs via msn or email etc? Got back from my 4 day trip to DLP and I have to admit i'm obssesed with the parade songs.
Thank you.
i have been also trying to look for that!
Masamune, this is the guy who is doing Gaston this year:
He is one of the 6 cast who can be picked to play Gaston this year.
l saw another one... :D
:P You caught him making a scary face there, but he's still hot...
o_o; Has anyone ever got in trouble for stalking a specific character? Because seriously, that is my one and only plan for this trip...find Gaston, hug him, get his autograph, have picture taken! :D
Masamune, l saw the cutest Gaston ever last time...got him nice in close up on videocamera, if you like l'll post a screencap...
Be warned though he's too hot for words
 You must show me!
Is "It's Halloween-Lo-Ween" available again this year? It's been sold out for months, but I just noticed one on ebay:
It's about the only cd single I don't have, so any info would be welcome. :)
The CD is avaible in the stores now!
It wasn't sold out for month, but they only put it in the stores around Halloween!
The Christmas CD was also not available during the year 'til now.
Thanks ChipChap! :D
I saw the Christmas CD in April actually - I they're only restocked at Halloween/Christmas, and then they're left on the shelves till they sell out. Halloween-Lo-Ween must be very popular...
Here's Gaston... enjoy!
 *Dies* He's so cuuuuuuuuute!
X_____X;;; Does anyone know where I'm mostly likely to find Gaston (apart from in the Parade)? O_O; Seriously, I need to hug him...
l thought he roamed on Central Plaza with the other villains no?? That's where l found him last year at least.
But l agree he's CUTE!!!

Is there set times for Villains to appear?
They're scheduled to appear outside Phantom Manor: //http://www.disneylandparis.com/uk/disneyland_park/parades_and_shows/meet_and_greet_schedule.htm
Not sure if that includes gaston though...
:o Thanks for that Baloo! *Will write the times down*
._. I'm getting stressed now with the excitement of it all... :( why can't Monday hurry up and be here?!
OMG, just got back from DLRP, we had an incredible time.
the cavalcade is brilliant, we couldn't believe how fab it was for a 'mini parade'. the villains parade is great too.
the thing we loved most were the pumpkinmen.....wow they are fab we had phot's taken all over the park!!!!
definitely the best theming of the park from the other times we've been there, we even prefer it to christmas.
way to go DLRP!!!!! :stitch_bounce:
Thanks for the review kate! I really can't wait for tuesday now. :D

What days are you in the resort Ant? I'll be looking out for you. Should be back at work by late next week.
31st to the 6th/7th. :D Should be interesting, seeing all of halloween and then the first performances of the Christmas Parade! You must find it a bit weird performing that so early?
Having said that, I noticed all the shops here have christmas stuff up since last week...

I bought both the Halloween-Lo-Ween and Chant C'est Noel this week (25-Oct-2006).
BTW it's the same cd single as last year which is a good thing :D
Please please please can someone send me the cavacalade song and boo to you, i know a lot of people have it and i know some people are hesitant on sending it due to copywrit rules, but please.
:P I'll be there from the 30th to the 1st!
:D If anyone wants to come say hello, feel free to do so! I think I'm quite easy to spot... :o I have long blonde hair, and I'll be wearing a burgundy jacket with a small picture of Cheshire on the front...and if the weather is really cold, I'll be wearing my bright purple Cheshire Cat hat, gloves and scarf set! ;)
weaher was great there while we were there - 24th - 27th we even wore just tshirt and trousers one day really sunny!
Christmas in October is just stupid, but in every shop it seems to be it along with all lamps up, including central plaza lamp shades and projectors all over main street and aventureland for next week.

agreed! :D
I can see why they do it though as some people come for one event or the other e.g I am there for Halloween rather than Xmas this year but I'll still purchase loads of Xmas stuff if they have it on sale.
lt's because they wanted people who were unable to come for xmas to be able to see some of the christmas decorations as well.
That's what they told me in the Emporium anyway when l asked about their decorations :D

Yeah, Thursday 26th was fantastic - really warm and sunny - best day of our trip. We really lashed out on the food tho - lunch at the auberge du cendrillion and dinner at the yacht club in the NBCH.

Ah nice reply, yesterday the tour guide I had in the Studios was like erm I suppose it's near Christmas, still I prefer it better before  , sorry to go off topic  .
Hmm, i gues it kinda makes sense, though it must feel a bit weird in the parks. However xmas will soon be upon us don't you worry!
Great end to halloween tonight, LOAADS of fog, very spooky everywhere. Couldn't see ToT from in front of the fences when it went dark, no HNY or NBC from Rockefeller Plaza and no WDS from the main plaza. :D
A blue bird informed me that a whole bunch of construction fences are awaiting backstage Main Street to put up during the night.
Yeah, i'm expecting construction fences heaven tomorrow...
Saw the final Cavalcade and Villain parade, nothing interesting happened, they just gave the kids THOUSANDS of sweets, lol
