Title: Disney/Pixar's UP characters?
Post by: geomelin on April 22, 2009, 01:05:27 PM
Does anyone one whether we can see the characters of the new movie wandering around in the park during summer holidays?

As Europe aren't getting the feature until the Autumn (Germany Sept 24th, UK Oct 16th) I seriously doubt it...

But then you never know

They might be seen in the future though, probably not this summer.

I heard the other day that the American Parks will be getting the characters. They may not appear at all in Paris though. Much like the Bolt characters. (except at the film premiere)

The movie has not even been released in the USA yet but these characters might be going to DLRP in November.

TowMater, can you please not post random things like that as if they're true, when we've heard nothing of the sort?

I can't even imagine how they'd make the characters from UP... they wouldn't be very cuddly.

They could make Dug the Dog Real :D

Now I have to disagree with you there Ant... Dug, Kevin and Russell are the easilest to be manipulated, and are probably the more cuddly that Woody and Buzz, whom costumers got quite a bit wrong, and for a fact is a comment made by Many a Pixar Fan!

OK So Russell looks a bit like a Humpty Dumpty... But then Docter should have stopped the character from Funneling all that Chocolate into his Mouth (Not sure what I'm talking about Watch UPisode 3: Snape Trap).

But yeah...

Will they turn up? I'd take a bet and say no...

Would I like them to? As a Pixar Fan  Yes...

Would I mind if they weren't there? No I don't think the Characters are needed... And with all the Savannah Settings The Studios isn't the ideal location... You Need Green, Trees and we all know and complain about the fact the Studios is a Grey Top!

Wow, the characters look awesome, as does the float too. We can only hope that they'll eventually venture their way across to France, but I'm not getting my hopes up; remember what happened with Bolt, and Even the Meet the Robinsons characters weren't around for long. Or Prince Caspian come to think of it, or Wall-E...

Well how about that Carl can be made into a Cuddly Character...

Its worked nicely in CA... maybe it would be nice for a small visit... But with a Story filled with Adventure and the South American Jungle... I still think... the Studios is not the best place for them... Unless they build Carls house into the Studios...

Pixar have gone all out on this movie... $150m and a Waterfall in the Central Atrium of the Emeryville lot!

Although... I dare say Russell is a bit too tall on that float... and not round enough... But Dug is awesome... even down to the mannerisms!

I really like the characters, they've done a good job - particularly Carl!

Whoa! They completely pulled it off! Why can't they go back and make new versions of Woody, Buzz and Jessie that look as true to the film as this?

The style of the float, the colourful balloons, the book... wouldn't it fit nicely in Once Upon a Dream Parade?

Definitely seems more of an Adventureland/Discoveryland story to me. :)

They seem to be making very good looking characters lately. Particularly the new Mr Smee, who I think looks fantastic.

They look really great, I expected the big bag full of chimes on Russel's back but that would be too heavy.

Thank you Disney Costuming Department for these characters.

We used to, can anyone remember when we had the small Toy Story, Hercules and Aladdin parades the years that each were released. And of course there was the huge Hunchback of Notre Damn/5th Anniversary celebration, including the Hunchback Parade. :)

It's a shame that they don't do these things at DLP any more :(

The Walt Disney Company prefers to advertise movies via the usual billboards in Paris....

You know, the same way movies are promoted everywhere else.
None of the creativity of a unique mini-parade.
