Title: Minnie's Party Train (MMP)
Post by: Anthony on February 09, 2009, 12:25:52 AM
(//http://www.dlrpmagic.com/images/external/forum_partytrain_logo.jpg)

Minnie's Party Train is a redressing and re-choreographing of the 15th Anniversary's popular Disney Characters' Express (//http://www.photosmagiques.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=1638) meet 'n' greet event for Mickey's Magical Party (//http://www.photosmagiques.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=4999). The trainload of characters will continue to enter Main Street and travel up to Central Plaza, where a 20-minute meet 'n' session begins. The parade float and carriages themselves will be redecorated with colourful bows, ribbons and ornate new gold-coloured fittings, naturally with plenty of red polka dots throughout.

Thanks for posting this Anthony! :D

I am glad they are not removing the character express and are revamping it because it's just such a great opportunity to meet characters really! And it's so exciting when you are in one of the shops or walking about and you here "atention, atention" (in french) lol...although it may not do this but we will get used to the new announcement and music! When i am anywhere near it i always run to see who is on the train hehe! :D

So glad they are re-using the character express again. It'll be good to see them re-decorate it. can't wait. but will miss 'tous en train'

It's good to see it stay but I think that it should basically just keep on going around and not stop as it is bedlam when the characters come out and you can't get near with all the pushing and then introduce more M&Gs in the parks.

Does anyone know if the 15th symbols will be replaced with a Minnies Party Train scenery for the characters to go to?

Post by: Magicalmouse125 on March 02, 2009, 10:01:25 PM
I think they will be. Lumiere is no longer the idol for the park. If their not replaced by giant polka dots you can expect giant Mickey's waving 'your invited signs.

Is there going to be change to the characters on board? Are they going to be the fab 5 and friends. Or Minnie's feminie friends? or Pixar or are they just a random selection like the character express

The Horse Drawn Street Car is operating almost every day!  And even the Omnibus is a lot more frequent than it used to be the past years.  And I'm sure the firetruck was out last summer.  :)

That is awesome news, as when we were there for the last week of August and also the first October weekend, it was only operating one day in EMH. When I asked about it in guest relations, they blamed the toon train.

I was hoping for a change until I watched a video on Youtube today and heard the song and started to feel sad that I would never be in the park and hear "choo, choo pa,pa, choo, choo, pa, pa..ooo.." again so now I am happy if it stays hehe! It's so catchy and of course I know the moves!

I do hope for more changes in characters though! [-o<

Looks like the design got simplified a little http://img256.imageshack.us/img256/5098/hd10653w.jpg (http://img256.imageshack.us/img256/5098/hd10653w.jpg)

And by the looks of it, that's the actual train too (visible structural supports etc that you wouldn't add for a Photoshopped visual)

I stand corrected! The float did get simplified... then a load of extra ribbons and designs got added!

I love it! Really does look like a PARTY train now! Lots more Minnie dots rather than just white leftovers too...

Only slight improvement I could suggest is repainting the eye outline

They shouldn't have painted his face, it just doesn't look right at all, like he's been sun bathing with only a few little spots of sun cream on :roll:They should have left it white.

That music has been doing the rounds for some while since the start of the 15th anniversary. It's now available to the press.

Minnie looks like she's talking aboard her train though. That's a nice feature. Probably something quite similar to her Good Morning WDS dialogue. The train engine part does look quite busy. The face and part of the sides does need to be white again. I agree.

Liking the lights above Stitch's sign btw

The train looks ILL!

Painting the face like that looks truly horrible. Not to mention the random streamers that now don't match anything else after the lampposts were de-uglified.

How... Just how did they think it looked good like that?

It is truly horrid, can someone just rip off those ridiculous decorations and paint Casey Junior back how he used to be.  This just looks stupid, wrong and very tasteless, whoever came up with this idea should be sacked for having either no, or too much imagination  .

Before i look at them images i wasn't feeling that well, now though i feel worse

It is awful, there are far too many white dots, the painted face ruins the whole paintwork of the train but the ribbons take cheap and tacky to a brand new level.  It was great to see the ribbons go off the lamp-posts in main street, but it seems they moved all that left-over ribbon onto the train, i'm really finding it hard to find at least one good thing about this  :(

This has now left me with a hard question though, which is worse, this or It's Dance Time over in Discoveryland? :-k :P

Those are removed.  I guess they're moved somewhere backstage where they will either be used as backstage decorations or just destroyed.

I always thought Lumiere looked more like a horse...

The meet 'n' greets now appear to be more of a free-for-all then ever, though.

And I wish Minnie would bloody shut up during this event. You can hear her screeching from Fantasyland Station. Between this and the million "Just look at my dress!" comments in Stars 'n' Cars, it's enough to make me never want to see her again.

Her voice sounds about as annoying as the Halloween version of Tous en Train, that was so annoying, especially hearing it anywhere within a mile of Main Street.

I know you almost struggle to hear Tous en train over it. and it intervenes every where.

Either keep it to the original english voice or don't have it!.

Same with Mickey in Party time.

• HD: Minnie's Party Train (//http://www.dlrpmagic.com/video/entertainment/minnies-party-train/?v=hd)

It probably is a fairly good evolution of the event really. Minnie's too frequent interruptions aside people still really visibly LOVE the music and it feels like it has much more life now there's one particular character to anchor it to. I like that she wears a white bow and white shoes too, to save from too much red.

There's not even much change in the Character's on the Trains either is there? Although I have Seen Mary Poppins, Bert and the penguins on one or two but that's about it. But I guess for people who don't go that often they wouldn't notice that there isn't a big turn over of Characters on the train. :?

It definently wasn't running on the 18th and can't remember seeing it on the 19th august either
They replaced it with the good morning main street
All they did was play "dancing a catchy rhythem" instead of the good morning song they used in the morning and Minnie walked alongside the vehicles when "Minnies Party Train" was scheduled

There wasn't an announcement either

We were at DLRP last week (Mon 24-Fri 28) and were gutted when the train didn't appear as timetabled.  Our younger daughter loved it last year and was really looking forward to seeing it again this year (actually so was I   :)  ).  Then on Thursday 27th it appeared.    :D  =D>  :D/

I saw the train for the first time yesterday in Central Plaza in the middle of a thunderstorm! I was surprised by how little characters there were, I expected it to be much bigger. All there was yesterday was Minnie, Donald, Chip n' Dale, Pinocchio and his Dad (can't remember his name) and maybe a couple others.

Looks and sounds familiar
Tokyo Disneyland "The Disney Party Express" from 2001
I suppose it's what Character Express/Minnie's Party Train/All Stars Express/Next Re-theme/20TH Anniversary Train could have been/could be!

They dressed up the character train (the predecessor of Minnie's party train) up for Halloween too in 2008.
I love the Halloween versions of both, I really enjoyed them last year and the year before that.

That said, I always enjoy seeing the train come by, even though it was freezing last Saturday I still made sure to stop and watch it come by once :)
