I know the current imagery has been taken on 21.10.2007, but does anyone know the date of the former Google Maps/Earth imagery or can give an educated guess? There is no ToT or CC yet.

Its 2006 at the earliest as the Wonderful world of Disney parade is parked up backstage, including the Character Express as the old dumbo float, would be difficult to narrow it down more but I'm sure some people on here will have a better idea.
I would say Summer 2005-ish.
Panoramagique is missing and the columns are present in the village. I would guess 2002/2003.
It would be interesting to see if The soccer school ground is there. Located over the road behind Sequoia Lodge.

I just checked, the soccer school opened April of 2004, which means the map has to be older than that, right?
So the photo must be between March 2002 and April 2004. I would guess Summer 03

Also the fauna indicates that it would be summer as all the trees and flowers are in full bloom.

Sounds about right to me, it had to be before the construction on TOT, TS, Panoramagique, and Buzz had started, so that's probably a good guess :wink:
Yes, it is definitely summer. All the outdoor pools (HNY, NBC, SQL) are crowded, there are six boats on the lake, everything seems to be up and running and even the visitor parking lot is bursting. So the only question that seems to remain is: is it really summer 2003 or could it also be 2002? Is there a way to find out?

I dunno how they have got the exact date of the current images but it you can tell its halloween season 2007 as the pre-parade is parked up backstage.

I was in the Explorer's Hotel in May 2003, it was fully finished though whilst I was there.

Not sure if I'm thinking of the right aerial photo here, but isn't the pink birthday cake stage on Central Plaza? It looks pink-ish, but it's quite small on the first image, it could just be the flower bed actually.

Yes, I saved > 200 GB of imagery of the whole DLRP ring of both the old and the new satellite data. It is very interesting to see how the park and the whole area evolved over the years.
Google Earth 5.0 introduced a pretty cool "Time Travel" feature, which makes it possible to look back at satellite images of the past using a time slider!
So now satellite imagery for the following dates is available for DLRP:
- 25. July 2002 (Thursday)
- 31. May 2004 (Monday)
- 24. Jan 2005 (Monday)
- 21. Oct. 2007 (Sunday)
And to finally conclude the quest for the correct date of the map I posted: according to Google Earth it has been captured on 31. May 2004 !!!
