Do you have any traditions that you simply have to do when you're at Disneyland?
Mine is, on our first day as soon as we step off the Eurostar (and after my cigarette) we head straight to Annettes for lunch. We started doing this a few years ago and it's just built into our plans now. We find it great as it's close to where we get off plus it's really quiet at lunchtime.
We also have to have an ice cream from the gibson girl, no matter what the weather, but I think most people would agree with that!

Amen on the cigarette !!!
We always make sure to go to Cafe Mickeys for breakfast once during the holiday, and I personally always have to buy a photo album, and something made of glass( :? )
We always spend the first day only in the Disneland Park and leave the studios for later. When we arrive at the park we head straight to the Disneyland Railroad Station on Main Street and stay on there for one full round - perfect way to take some deep breaths and realize we really are in the middle of the magic.
We always head to Buzz Lightyear first - specially now with the EMH, first thing in the morning we head straight there and go on it 3 or 4 times. Then we move somewhere else...
Go to DL for the first day and then WDS the next. Also have to buy at least one teddy :)
On the night we get there we always go to DV then the first day we always go to the DLP, then its to WDS for part of the second day, then back to the DLP
Ooo and we always have to get an ice cream :D
I have many traditions which are almost certain at every trip:
1. We usually begin in WDS at arrival day (didn't do this on my latest trip because of some of the Halloween shows in DLP)
2. As the first thing in DLP we use to ride the Railroad from Main Street to Main Street. (didn't do this either on my latest trip)
3. In the first night we always eat at Colonel Hathi's (didn't do this either - it was closed :()
4. I have to buy a Walt Disney Classics Collection figurine in the Disney Gallery (this is a pretty new tradition)
5. On leaving day we ALWAYS - and that means always - eat at Toad Hall. The Fish'n'chips is waaay better than the food in the other fast food restaurants throughout the parks.
6. Tradition which I started during my latest trip: Haägen-Dasz Ice Cream and dinner at Café Mickey's.
Also a tradition is to not stay at the only Resort Hotel I haven't stayed at, Hotel New York as I would see that as closening the circle
after coming off the Eurostar and dumping our bags, we always head for Its a Small World to start our holiday off!!!
Our DLRP holidays usually start like this:
1. Get off the Eurostar.
2. Check in at hotel.
3. Head to WDS.
4. Ride Tower Of Terror x 2.
5. Ride Rock 'n' Roller Coaster x 6512838 (This one used to be no. 4 before ToT came along)
After that we improvise!
I have a tradition of touching the castle outer walls, just for the texture everytime I go. Also putting my hand in the water whilst on 'It's a Small World".. :-"

I have something like that ....but I don't do it as a tradition I'm just abit weird for touching things, and I have to run my fingers along what ever wooden structures I see.
I also need to have a good last look at the Castle before we leave, and say goodbye
My mum ALWAYS buys a Christmas decoration! It doesn't matter what time of the year it is, she buys a Christmas decoration!
And I always get a Minnie Mouse plushie!
Our tradition is to have a coffee and a dessert at the Cable Car Bakeshop on the first morning after we have been on Space Mountain.
at least one time we eat at the restaurant "Bella Notte".
I like how it looks and i'm a big fan of Pizza
Saying Byeee, to DLRP when were leaving :(

Amen brother! Only not including the Space mountain ride, but the first day @ the parc ;-)
Quote from: "jeakat24"Do you have any traditions that you simply have to do when you're at Disneyland?
Absolutely :) On the first day of any visit I never go on any rides or allow myself to get caught up in any queues :)
I just wonder around the Disneyland Park and soak up the atmosphere, and when I've soaked it all up I settle down somewhere for a lovely 'First Night' meal. Then I'm ready for the fun to come =D>
Epcot_Boy :ears:
1. on arrival first stop fantasy land
2. Have the kids photo taken in the taxi inside New York Hotel
3. Buy Christmas decoration
4. Last day breakfast at Cafe Mickey
5. Hot Choc and warm up whilst kids watch cartoons and play with animals in the
Lion King Theatre
6. 1 1/2 days at DLP then 3rd Day Studios after that what ever we fancy
When I go we always have breakfast in the bakery on mainstreet. I usually have a Brownie and coffee, my friend usually has a donut and coffee.
1. Land in CDG and spend about half the during texting friends in complete french ( :P ) and listening to my ipod, spend the rest looking out of the window armed with my camera looking for the first glimpse of DLRP.
2. Check into hotel, find the room and drop the bags in there.
3. Head to DLP (didn't last year because of ToT, may be in serious doubt from now on because of ToT.
Another one is we have to eat at Cowboy Cookout at least once, nicest restaurant in DLRP and Annette's Dine, best fast food place ever! :D
:) Our main tradition is to always get someone to take a picture of us at the top of the Queen of Hearts castle, with Sleeping Beauty's castle in the background.
The first i do is check in, go to breakfast and go to Disneyland Park
and make a Ride with the Railroad!!!
Some of the ideas are great, i might have to steal some of your traditions guys :P
As for me, i love Buffalo's wild west show, We always go there in the middle of our
trip ,for example if we stayed for 6 nights we go on the third night :D
my traditions....
1. First night we are there we ALWAYS eat at the Rainforest cafe, ALWAYS order the Rasta Pasta and 2 Typhoon Malibu's!!
2. Buy a photo album with the year on!
3. Buy a Christmas Decoration!!!!!
4. Take the same photos! lol.
5. Buy a pin badge for every ride/show/hotel we stay at/go on.
6. go on POTC only once? a wierd one but we only do it once per holiday :S
7. Buy an expensive gift for each other :D
8. Take that last photo of the castle, before I leave the park :( and keep glancing back until I cant see it any longer, while crying a little :( )
9. Cry at every parade and show
We always:
* Have dinner at 'Café Mickey' (or breakfast but I prefer dinner)
* Take a picture of the castle (again)
* Try to speak French (I said 'try'...)
* Buy fridge magnets (me) and a plushie (my daughter)
* Watch the parade every day during our stay (can't get enough of it)
* Go character hunting for photos & autographs
* Since or last 2 trips my little girl trades her pins :-)
* Me and my mum try not to smoke (I said 'try'...)
We have a coupleof must's
1) Always have a photo taken holding up the flying saucer at the Santa Fe, its getting harder now to find a different pose.
2) 2nd night we always wander round the shops in all the hotels and then take McD's back to our roome.
3) We take it in turns year on year to pick the first ride, this year we are taking first timers with us so they get to choose.
The very first thing we always do:
arriving by car and directly go to Salon Mickey.
Its magical to hear the smooth Music, talk to some CMs and enjoy the beginning of our Disney-Stay
The second thing:
Eating a brownie!
I love them!
Gosh this is scary, as I read through your posts, I thought we were the only ones that followed a ritual upon arrival.
We drop off cases at hotel, straight to the park, through the tickets gate under the station and stand .......
and weep. all of us, even nan and grandad shed a tear.
Up through main street, taking everything in, including the atmosphere, we always say 'wow it doesn't seem a year since we last stood here'.
Touch the castle and straight on to Small World.
Have to have a hot dog at Caseys at some point.
Eat at Annettes
Have a silly picture on Pirates (this year we are taking masks)
Have to have a pin each
10 year old has to have a cuddly toy.
I always have a nightshirt.
Christmas Decorations
Calendar
Have to say goodbye, see you next year when we leave, again fighting back the tears.
This year I am determined to have a meal at Walts, everytime we look at the menu and never go in. :D
Glad to see that we are not the only 'weird' ones.
First get a space mountain fast pass, go on its a small world.
Walk through as much of Adventureland as possible between multiple rides on pirates.
Buy keyrings.
Buy bowls and mugs for family.
Eat in quiet corner of restaurant en coulisse.
Smuggle snacks into the parks!
I know I've already replied in this thread, but everytime I see it in my posts I always want to add this..I can't help it, so here goes
Yes Disney ones...

hehe, we're all wierd here lol
and you should eat at Walts, Its beautiful!
My traditions would be that once we get to DLP
-we first of all get checked in at our hotel
-then food is normally in disney studios 1, just something quick
-then straight out of WDS and head to disneyland park.
-walk in and admire the castle from a distance
-always have to do a small world at least once
-always have to have a treat from the cable car bakery
-always buy a photo album
-always have to have a photo taken infront of the castle
-day 2 is usually the studios
-mum loves the tram tour so it's a must
-always get a photo infront of walt and mickey
-on the day we leave we usually spent a small time in each park
-have to be in the park when leaving so that I can have a long stare at the castle to try and remember how beautiful it is and to soak up as much atmosphere as possible before leaving!!

Me too, I didn't even know they existed until my brother got me one for my birthday, I saw your collection on fotki, they're fab and I'm very jealous as I've only got four.
I also forgot to say that I normally always get a new jacket when we go and we always get my mum and sister Christmas decorations and my dad now has a nice collection of tins that once had biscuits in them.
We always have to go on Pirates of the Carribean first before any other ride,, also on the first night we always go to Planet Hollywood! :D/
Quote from: "never2old"I also need to have a good last look at the Castle before we leave, and say goodbye
I agree I always stand at the bottom of the path in front of the castle on our last day just before leaving and say goodbye.
It's a really sad moment
Mr_B
Yes, personally it takes me a few days to get over it  ...
