Title: Whats wrong with the new space mountain?
Post by: charliegal on July 21, 2008, 09:38:01 AM
When reading these forum's ive noticed that people generally seem to think that the creation of Space Moutain Mission 2 was a bad decision. Sorry if this has already been discussed, I was just wondering what were the main differences between this version and the original and why you preferred the original?

xx

Yeah, feel free to discuss this in the official SM:M2 topic. I'll close this one.

But generally, it comes from the feeling that Imagineering destroyed the original attraction's soul, it's time-specific Jules Verne theme, in favour of a much more modern and -- here comes the dreaded word -- "relevant" sequel.

In fact, I think SM:M2 is a better ride than SM, which I was never that impressed with. Better launch, a lot to see inside (when it's working) and issues with the queue solved (it never made sense that you looked into "space", even if it was interesting). It just feels a bit all over the place, there's no heart to pull it together like the Jules Verne story did.
