What are they doing here? New terasse?

From WDS Fans:
Quote from: "WDS Fans"A mysterious construction started last week near Rendez-Vous des Stars which has now been revealed by La Roquine at Disney Central Plaza as a permanent snack stand sponsored by Nestlé.
There's no information however when the stand will open and what it will look like.
Sounds interesting :)
Seems kind of a weird place to build something like that, right in front of the restaurant sign. Maybe they're going to use the space where the old Catering Co. van was for a larger seating area?
I'm praying it'll be themed like the Coolpost or L'Arbre Enchanté, and not like Toon Studio Catering or Kool Zone.
Shall we take bets on the name? I'm going for the word "cool" somewhere in there.
Maybe that´s just the terrasse for the food stand placed nearer at WDTS :?:
It's a brand new food stand for sure sponsored by Nestlé. :)

mmm coffee wouldn't mind a small stall selling coffee etc :P
Hopefully it will turn out nicely. The location in front of Rendez-vous des Stars seems a bit odd though. It makes me even more curious what they've got up their sleeves.
There's a construction update on disneytheque:
Source: Disneytheque (//http://www.disneytheque.com/index.php?/archives/99-Lactu-des-Walt-Disney-Studios-en-2008.html)
Is that the actual look out of RVdesStars????
A patio... interesting.
That circular section of the restaurant isn't exactly going to be very scenic once there's a building on that spot, is it?
Has anyone seen some new pictures of this construction? I agree that the location seems weird. RVDS is a nice looking building, and I hope this wont cover it up.
Disneytheque has some. Seems to be a terrasse.

It looks a bit weird, like temporary. So, instead of a permanent snack stand one of those vans will be located here? Or will it really be terrasse?
Maybe a smoking area
Quote from: "Riebi"Maybe a smoking area
Just imagine that... A whole bunch of people smoking in front of your window... :P
Construction fences have now fenced off the covered outdoor seating area of Rendez-Vous des Stars.

Maybe it's not a separate food stand after all but a proper outdoor terrace? That'd instantly bring a lot more life the corner, and expand the capacity... They've got similar window coverings to the Café Mickey extension (god help us...).
There are new pics ...

would be interesting how it looks inside RVdS. Could be a bit dark for the restaurant guests.

Exactly, thats what I was wondering to. I still think they should have build a food stand in the Beverly Court facade at the new Hollywood streetset.
Raptor, when is this new Nestlé food stand due to open?
Have they ordered a job lot of these horrible metal terraces and plastic canopies?
It's hardly up to the standard of the amazing Hollywood & Lime. I guess it's better than another Studio Catering Co van, but it doesn't look like it'll do much for the restaurant. Will the serving counter take up the entire inside terrace there, or just a portion of it? It seems like a weird idea.
Quote from: "Baloo"Have they ordered a job lot of these horrible metal terraces and plastic canopies?
I guess you were kidding, but it's not even such an unlogical thinking. They probably got them cheap by making a big order. I just wonder if they're custom made or just off the shelf.

You're probably right!
It seems like they looked at how to increase dining capacity for the Summer and settled on these new terraces. Made to custom measurements, but I wouldn't go as far as saying custom "designs".
I like the idea of a terrace, but it looks like Nescafé aren't willing to spend as much as Coca-Cola do. The bare steel poles aren't exactly Art Deco, for a start...

Come on everbody, lets boycot Nestlé/Nescafé and it products from now on. At least Coca-Cola is willing to invest properly in our parks! (just don't look at how Cool Station turned out to be)...
Offtopic: Great avatar Baloo! I like it very much!
To clarify, the sponsors are paying for all of this. All the new Coca-Cola stands (including the new one in Disney Village) are fully paid by that company.
For me it looks a bit like the normal guests would think Roundez Vous des Stars is the café not the restaurant. Do they change the sign?

That's a good point, it's confusing from that angle with the letters above.
Also, the new park map lists this as officially called
Café Cafés, by Nescafé. Coming soon, Hot Dogs Hot Dogs and a new merchandise store called Keyrings Keyrings.

How inspiring  they should develope this in every corner of disneyland resort paris.
Caseys Corner = Hot Dog Hot Dog
Toad Hall = Fish/Chips Fish/Chips
The Boardwalk Candy Palace = simply: Candy Candy (and at Halloween Sweets Sweets)
even good for attractions:
Indiana Jones et le temple du péril = Indy Indy
Buzz Lightyear laser blast = Buzz Buzz
Phantom Manor = Ghosts Ghosts
The Twilight Zone - Tower of Terror = Drop Drop
and just simple changes for
Rock n Rollercoaster to Rock Rock or Rollercoaster Rollercoaster

This was a little weird to see. You're suddenly struck by "whaaa? Do they read magicforum?".
It's not a bad sign to be honest. I'd have preferred they gave the place a bit more of a "story" like Hollywood & Lime or even Kool Zone, though. I mean, you mix Hollywood and Coffee... there's got to be a better pun in there than Café Cafés. It's very lazy. The colours and design match the building behind well enough.
It actually now clashes with the Chef Rémy sign... Unless he does coffee now too.
We've not mentioned here yet that the new park guide actually has a description for the place which mentions "delicious flavoured coffees and hot drinks", so that's new. Nescafé have finally come up with a variety that tastes of something.
For me a bit sad that the RdS-signs is gone. I loved this sign. yes that sounds a bit silly  but it was one of my favorit signs there on the round roof. Very hollywood.
but ok now we have a coffee corner there. and the rds-sign would be a bit confusing there.

I know what you mean Riebi, I agree with you that the Rendez-vous des Stars sign was quite nice. I've always liked it and I definately prefer it to this plastic sign. I agree aswell that the name Cafe Cafe's sounds aweful.

Nice pictures Kristof, thanks for sharing!
Well, could be worse.
It is obvious that the Imagineers respected the style of the Rendez-vous des Stars building (at least on the inside; just look at the placement of the windows on both sides of the stand which are on the same height as the exsisting frosted windows for example). It looks quite art deco to me. However, the only thing I really dislike inside the Cafe Cafes is the flooring. Was it really necessary to pave it with these tiles? There must have been a better way to give it a warmer and more permanent feel. The stand itself looks great by the way, I like how they used wood (or at least give you the impression).
Did anyone noticed that the stand features the same style as the action photo stand at the exit of Buzz Lightyear Laser Blast? On the other hand its quite clear to see that the same Imagineers who designed Cafe Cafes also designed the new Cafe Mickey expansion.
That looks quite nice!
Have to grab a cup of coffee there next time we visit the Studio's :)

Is it still instant coffee? It would have to be if it's Nescafe, I suppose, but it would be odd to base such extravagant coffee drinks on instant coffee.
That silly sponsorship... If they didn't have that contract with Nestle, they could have easily bought an espresso machine -- even McDonald's restaurants have those nowadays.
Ah well, it certainly seems to be an improvement. Perhaps the Coffee Grinder will get a similar menu if it's a hit.
Ok , in the last 2 pictures it looks nice!
I think "Café Cafés" looks quite nice actually. I'm not a big fan of the canopy - It could look a lot better - but it needs to be there. I see the Rémy sign is gone too. :)
I'm actually quite surprised at how well this has actually turned out, because it isn't actually that bad. I didn't think it'd be that good at first, but the look and the store itself aren't actually as bad as I thought they would be :)
Yeah - looks nice!
Thats one of those - "sit-down-and-relax" spots, WDS needs. :D/
Anyone already had a cup of coffee there? I'm curious about how it tastes.
Still no-one who had coffee there?
I'm just really curious :P
I've been there two or three times now. Personally I like the coffee, I've tried a few different coffees and there were all good (much better than other coffees I've had in the park).
I also had a chocolate muffin (very very yummy), amd last time tried a chicken wrap, also nice.
Nice addition to the Studios, I'll definitely go back again!
Hmm....sounds as a nice little extra coffee corner in the parc.
Will visit it hopefully around the mids of november ;-)
Will report my judgement here asap :P
Thanx for the update :) I'm just curious how thinks are over there because I run a Coffeehouse of my own ;)
Who of you all botch his hot café café over the café cafés ground?
It seems they must do some ground works again:
And it seems they forget the fences.

I think I'll just go and try it myself in March ;).
I'll post my opinion here as soon as I return from my trip, perhaps even with some photo's.
