Have you ever been evacuated from an attraction at either park?
Of all times I've been at the resort (and that's A LOT), it happened only once to me, and it was pretty cool too... We were evacuated from the Columbiad cannon in Space Mountain! The train stayed in the cannon for quite some time in the cannon until suddenly a door opened and a cast member secured herself to the railing and helped us one by one out of the train. 8)
Only actual evacuations count. Getting stuck for some time is not the same thing.
yep, i have also been exacuated from space mountain.
just before the asteroid explsion bit the car stopted, we were in there for a fair while and they turned all the lights on and got everyone out. needless to say i was scared stiff as swinging from a suspended starcase thats made from a wire mesh type thing is NOT my idea of a good time! i didnt even manage to get any pics for fear of my life and clutching the rail so tight i could barley move my hand and it practicly stayed clenched for a week!!
also pirates but i wasnt actualy on the ride just in the inside queing area
i got evacuated from crush's coaster. we were just going up the submarines it stopped we were there for ten minutes then some came and got us. they did give us a pass to get back on it when it when it was fixed!!! nice of them i think lol
I was evacuated from Space Mountain Mission 1 (where you now have the asteroid explosion in mission 2...), from Indiana Jones (twice, one of which when it went backwards: both on the same location (second safety break section at the top...), once from RnRC (didn't have enough speed, so breaks came into place right before the loop at the launch), and once from Star Tours...
So I have been pretty fortunate to experience some of them LOL
Quote from: "speedpacket"once from RnRC (didn't have enough speed, so breaks came into place right before the loop at the launch)
I would pay to have that happen to me! :o :P I've never been evacuated from anything. :(
I've never been evacuated from an attraction but i did have to wait ages in Phantom Manor because it broke down, i was in the bit just after the strech room, where the changing pictures are. They had the emergency lights on and people wanted to get off but we stayed. Eventually the ride started working again and the lights were swicthed off, there was a big cheer from everyone then
I was evacuated from Crush's Coaster last summer. I was in the actual coaster part when it stopped at a brake point and the house lights came on. I was scared stiff because of the height plus when I seen some of the bends and drops  We could see CM's going to all the separate cars and pushing them one by one, they then done that to ours and i'm not joking it was sooooo scary but when we got down and out they offered us a fastpass thing so we could get on quickly when it started working again.

This sounds scary!!! I hope nothing like this is going to happen to me!!
How was crush with the lights on???
Came so close once on POTC. As we were told which boat to get into I said to my wife "I'd love to be on this when it stops, seeing everything back stage would be fantastic" and lo and behold as I put my foot out to get on board the lights came on and the attraction was closed. We had to walk straight across the boat and out the normal exit.
Better luck next time.
we sat down in SM once and then were unloaded straight away.
and then their was RnRC, went round the corner... 3... 2... 1... ... ... ... its broke!
still dont think these count ?

I don't know how to describe it because it's scary when it's dark, your spining and you don't know where you are and it's also scary when you see the height of the drops and steepness of the corners when the lights are on, I would say they were on equal par
Iv'e been evacuated a few times.
Space Mountain: Mission 2 at the supernova part.
Crush's Coaster at the top of the lifthill and once at the first brake in the coaster part, didn't think it was scary, i'm not afraid of heights and iv'e ridden the outdoor version at Drievliet in the Netherlands so i knew the exact height of the part we stopped.
I got vids of the evacuations somewhere on a cd but can't find them at the moment :(
EDIT: found the vids
It's never happened to me, but we were stuck on Big Thunder Mountain a very long time when we went in December 05 - it was going uphill inside the mountain where the dynamite is going off in front of us. Although we weren't evacuated, a cast member did come out to speak to us twice to tell us to stay where we were, and that they would sort out the problem as soon as they could.
Also a friend told me that they were all evacuated from Honey I Shrunk The Audience because a bag had been left unattended :?
I hadn´t ever an evacuation experience
But from what I read it seems to be a own attraction. Maybe DLRP should build an evacuation attraction.
I was evacuated from RnRC one. It was right at the end, so I didn't miss anything. After a few minutes cast members got us out. I thought they would just walk us to the usual unload area, but instead we went the other way and back to the rollercoaster part. Was really cool seeing all that with the lights on and going out to the parking lot and entering the park through a side door.
I don't know if it was the occaision that RockNroller refers to above, but we were once evacuated from POTC (I think it was Halloween 2005 or 2006). Our boat "Stalled" on the main up ramp and we just had to wait there stuck at quite an angle while the cast members organised the evacuation. We didn't mind much except it was towards the end of our stay so we didn't have time to go back and make up for the ride we lost.
None....yet?
I have been evacuated from Rock N Roller Coaster, near the very top!
The music went off a couple of times and the car stopped. The lights came on and we sat there for about 3 or 4 minutes when a couple of cast members climbed up to us.
They talked to everybody individually about what would happen and then started at the front and evacuated everybody one by one - we had to stand to one side until everybody was out of the cars. We were then led led in a long line down to the ground. Unfortunately one person had a bad asthma attack because of the dry ice and needed medical attention before she could be evacuated.
One thing I noticed is that my hands were absolutely black when I got out and it took ages to get them clean - I assume it was residue from the dry ice!

Tnx but...

What happened, when was it taken, where you in it? etc.
Off topic, do you happen to have a digital reflex camera?

It was taken last Saturday, in the morning, when I was taking pictures of both the Nautilus and the cannon at the same time. I was trying to catch the takeoff at Space Mountain. And I waited... and waited... till I saw the people walking there. I shot some pictures. This is the best I got. And yes, it was taken with a digital reflex camera: a Canon 350D.

Wow! That would truly be my dream come true! I hope that happens to me when I go next month! :P
I don't understand it - I've been on so many rides and roller coasters at loads of different parks yet I have never been evacuated of anything!

Ok, well you often see cast members walk up in the cannon when it's in 101 or in the morning, when you're waiting at the Discoveryland entrance before the rope drop.
I noticed you had a dslr, since you have quite some dust on your sensor. I had some on my sony alpha so purchased a Giottos' Rocket Blower last week, which is awesome to clean the sensor.
Hi
Last Nov We were in Snow White and the car stopped for 5 minutes no body else there then a cast member came and walked us out when all the house lights were on.
It was even more scary for my young daughter
I've been evacuated off the Haunted House in Alton Towers does that count
Never been off a Disney ride, been stuck for a while on the HM and Splash Mountain, Universe of Energy and Spaceship Earth.
I have never been evacuated in all my 10 years of going too Disney Parks! I was however 1st in line too WDW's Space mountain but that was evacuated before we got inside
hi we got back on sat me and my hubby was on crush last week it broke down we was right at the highest point it was scary two cast members came to us secured the shell and walked us down there was two french girls on the seats behind us they were taking pics we got a fastpass ticket
I finally got the evacuation off Rock'n'Roller Coaster that I wanted!
We boarded the Soundtracker, it went round to the launch area, but then we just sat there for ages! Eventually all the lights came on, and the CM's unloaded us off the train from the front. We then had to walk back round to the loading platform and after a few tests all the lights went off again and we got our ride.
I would rather have been evacuated from the actual roller coaster part, but at least this was something!
never been evacuated off a ride but out of hotel cheyenne in 2003 does that count !??:S well some one left a suitcase unattended no name or address on it was padlocked so we were asked to leave the hotel lobby while the fire brigade and police inspected it !!
I have been twice, but no evacuations yet...
I was about to que up for Peter Pan's Flight, but it stopped working as i said "Oh Let's Go On Peter Pan's Flight!!" So, i dunno if it count's... as we were moved away from the que, but not the actully ride, we hadn't even joind the que yet...
But i was kinda scared how i just said I wanted to go on it, and all of a sudden it stopped...
Quote from: "Nicholas-c"and then their was RnRC, went round the corner... 3... 2... 1... ... ... ... its broke!

That will count as breaking down whe I was there I saw it happen TWICE!
I was never evaquated in disneyland paris :D/
But I was evacuated from the Many Adventures of Winnie The Pooh in WDW.
Nothing exciting, just the same story as the rest. Sat for a while until someone came to rescue us
I was evacuated off POTC last October. That was a weird experience. We came down the first drop and stopped by the ship. About 2 mins later the lights came on, the water stopped and a French announcement was made. The boats in front were next to islands and were evacuated after about 20 mins. By this point I was panicking because I didn't have long until my Eurostar train departed  Finally (can't remember how long) a cast member had actually got into the water and pushed our boat to the nearest island. We then exited which was really interesting and we had quite a walk back into the park.
Hehe, btw, I just about caught my train :D
I've been evacuated twice, once in Crush's Coaster, and once from Phantom Manor (well, there kind of evacuated...)
In Crush it was in June 07, it had just opened officially, and it was already in trouble... We were stopped in the rollercoaster bit - in one of the highest points I'm sure  ! First we stayed in the dark for a few minutes (with the announcement that the ride was going to re-start shortly). Then the lights came on, and we saw where we were (high and high up... very scary!!) By then I was terrifiend... They left us there for a bit, then we saw a CM coming, and getting everyone out... There is a walkway next to the tracks, they had to move the turtle around towards it to let us out, it was a bit scary...
It was only later, when we were a bit further down, and we were waiting while other people were being let out, that I thought of taking the camera out and taking a couple of pictures:

We were taken out the back and put straight at the start of the queue, so when it was fixed again we were the first ones in... Though I didn't enjoy it much, I was still a bit scared...
Then last year when we were in Phantom Manor, we had just gone past the piano, when eveything stopped; after a while they had the annoucement that the ride couldn't continue, and the boogies started moving again, only there was no music, no sound and no effects, just the announcement over and over again, until we got to the end. It was a bit spooky, to see the Manor like that...
