In was just replying to a topic on Shares, and owning a piece of DLRP. It got me thinking, if any fans on this forum take a piece of DLRP back home with them. I don't mean merchandise. I mean an actual part of DLRP.
For example we always end up bringing the little bars of Mickey Soap from the hotel back with us, you know the ones in the black boxes with mickey on the front. I'm sure they expect guests to do this as it's a personal item for a guest to use, they replace them for each hotel guest using the room. A free souvenir I suppose. Last time we went it was a mini tube of Mickey Mouse shower gel. We also take a few napkins, obviously last years were extra special being the 15th anniversary, another souvenir. Oh yes, and a couple of sugar sachets, since my partners dad collects them from around the world.
I don't condone people stealing parts of the fittings and fixtures, either from their hotel or the park itself, although it probably happens. I'm suprised someone hasn't attemped to uproot the hexagnal tiles with peoples names on them, as you head towards the entrance.
Anyone elses thoughts on this :?:
We usually bring home the DLRP soap from the hotel and the soap, and last year because of the 15th celebration i brought home a bottle of coca-cola with the 15th wrapping on it :P It's still actually in the fridge and hopfully will never be opened :D We usually bring home stuff from breakfast like the chocolate spread.

Wow, an unopened 15th anniversary DLRP Coca-Cola bottle, worth a car in 2075 ;) (just kidding, sounds great, I have just the wrapper at home).
I always take home the postcards etc. from the hotel.
GrandiJoos
When we stayed at the Hotel New York a few years ago, we forgot to return our room key to reception. So we still have it now as a little souvenir.
Let's see i have
Park Maps (obviously)
Soap
Coca-Cola wrappers
Plastic Bags
(Most free stuff, i have)
A few leaves from La Cabane... You can look for them around the tree after a windy day.
We always keep the hotel cheyenne card keys
Soap(everyone does it!) hehe
Napkins
Disneyland passes
Park maps and info leaflets
erm ... the 3D glasses from "honey I shrunk the audience" is that bad? :?
What I'd really love to commandeer are the door handles from the Disneyland Hotel! the ones with Tinkerbelle, do they still have them? and do you think anyone would notice one missing? shhh!!
lol
i took a car from stunt show :p was to cool to not take! (joke...)
usually stuff that u get in resurants (napkins etc) fastpasses (i think i have one for every time every ride now :p usually because i forget i have them lol )
I have the usual:
soap, park maps, plastic bags, park tickets, but i even kept the till reciepts for everything i bought my fiancee thinks im mad even though they were from 4 years ago.
I will get some napkins and some fast passes this year and anything else i can think of :)
Quotebut i even kept the till reciepts for everything i bought my fiancee thinks im mad even though they were from 4 years ago.
My dad did this when we went as a family for the 5th anniversary (it was my parents wedding anniversary too), just the other day i found some reciepts from disney that had been put aside with the luggage etc. I thought they from when i went at christmas last year ... but no they were from 10 years ago!! lol
i have some signed fast passes and tickets by cast members. plastic bags. and a cast member special event bag with mickey mouse ears. and space mountian mission 2 on it (you can not buy them anywhere.)
and i don't know if this counts but my boyfriend gave me his stunt show jacket which they wear underneath the leathers. it is obercool. :D
Salt and pepper sachets! I don't know why they taste different but I love them
Hi, I usually collect the soap, shower gell, sugar, napkins,
One visit i fell over, did a sommersault in mid air, badly twisted my ankle and ended up with a huge egg on my ankle. Got sent to hospital and got my very own Disney x-ray of my foot, a great souvenier but very painful.
Also got me a pass to get on the rides without queing, the kids loved it and always joke about whether i can twist my ankle again to avoid all the queues.
I also keep my room keys
I usually collect the soap & shower gel from the hotel.
From The Steakhouse or wherever serves burgers or steak they give you colour pin things with a disney characters head on. Those I usually take with me 8)
like everyone else - soap, room keys (apparently they replace them anyway) maps, ect..
the first time we went we went with my niece and her friend - both in their 20s. that little bar of soap seemed to start something because her friend collected eveything. by everything i mean every different cup, plate, napkin, food bag, every salt, sugar, sauce packet she could get her hands on, straws, plastic carrier bags, a map in every language - you name she saved it  it became an obsession. she actually became quite freaked out when i was given one of the extra large red and white bags. she hadn't got that one. i did say she could have it once we were home but no she had to get one herself. i think she would of taken the curtains and bedding if we'd let her :P
I collected a couple of things; soap and shower gel from the room etc.
On a side note; people have started selling these items on ebay
i know its ridicuous, carrier bags "rare sugar and 15th anniversary napkins" etc. you got them for free for petes sake!!! i wouldnt like to add up the amount of soaps etc i have.
We also take home the soaps and the shower gels - why not? :) Although I somehow thought that in September (we stayed at NPBC) it was the first time ever we had shower gels... during our previous trips we stayed at the Cheyenne & Santa Fe, and somehow I can only remember the soaps :-k
I was also so lucky we got a postcard from the NPBC, I also think there weren't some at the Cheyenne & Santa Fe!
And last time we also took some 15 napkins with us
I think it's quite rare that someone will go to DLRP and not bring anything back. However, if I don't see the point in buying them off Ebay.
Surely, the whole point of bringing them back is as a memento, or as a souvenir. You wouldn't have any of that if you purchased one off Ebay.
Also, someone (no joke here) is selling a half used shower gel from the Disney hotel. Crazy!
id like to see that item and then let them know that they are not right in the head.lol. half a shower gel indeed. when i stayed in the santa fe i only got soaps, in the sequioa i got soap and shampoo, in the new york i got, soap, shower gel, shampoo, moisturiser, bath crystals shoe horn and a shoe cleaning kit. needless to say they all came home with me.

I think you're right Nala, I thought the same, in October 2007 when we went, I noticed the shower gel, everytime we went before that is was soap in the black and red boxes. :D
I noticed on my last trip that someone had got the ultimate souvenir !! It was in the shop (La Chaumiere des Sept Nains)near Snow White where there is a scene of all the animals washing clothes in the stream, just before you enter the shop properly. It seems as if someone has taken the two birds that were holding up a piece of cloth in the water !! I would be interested to know if they have been replaced by now , so have a look !!
Mmmmm I see, unless they were removed for re-paint or repair. I would assume they would be secured well if they were within public reach. Well time will tell.
I always take the toiletries (soap, shower gel), and sometimes the sugar/salt sachets. I also still have 2 chocolate coins from Buffalo Bill's.
Last time I brought a notepad and stationery (paper and envelopes) back from our room in the Hotel New York, and also a propelling pencil, all with the hotel's logo on.
I also keep random things, like receipts, bus tickets, unused Fastpasses, etc. :)
Quote from: "madzilla"I also still have 2 chocolate coins from Buffalo Bill's.
Oohh I forgot about those, I came across 18 of them in the kitchen cupboard stacked up. I'll probably eat them, they are still edible, but save 2 of them for keepsakes.
i remember when we stayed at the davy crocket ranch for first time we had the breakfast thing and didn't have the juice etc, took it home with us :P 6 days worth of juice for 6 people is alot!

That reminds me, Davy Crockett Hot Chocolate packets! :D
The best thing about the shower gel or shampoo is to take a big sniff of it every now and then, the smell really makes you think of DLRP!
Somewhere is a box of "stuff" we have some of those nice hard plastic types of park tickets, they were really nice but too expensive for DLRP to keep using, I suppose.
I have drilled a small hole in some room keys to put on the pin lanyards that are sold without the plastic wallet on the clip.
I have the original purple 3D glasses and the new yellow 3D glasses from Captain EO, also like everyone else I have the soap and shower gel from Santa Fe.
I have a piece of streamer which we picked up following the Once Upon a Dream Parade;it is tucked in the back of that year's photo album!
When I was 7 my mum took 30 odd soaps and we gave them to my class instead of sweets :p (was a class tradition that whenever someone came home from holiday they would hand out some sweets)
Like everyone else we have the soaps, shower gels, a tooth brush and a sewing kit etc. We have a bottle of 15th anniversary wine, sadly empty as my Mother In Law drank it. Several sachets of sugar and every carrier bag weve ever been given (woe betide anyone who tries to use one :D ). On one visit a friend walking past a loaded trolley "Borrowed" ::) a handful of the paper placemats they use in one of the Hotel New Yorks restaurants (The diner styled one, sorry the name escapes me), but my real prize is a napkin from the 2005 Christmas season. It lives in my suitcase so has travelled back to Disney every year since. Each year as we pack it comes out of its zip up pocket, we both go ahhh and then it goes back.
My name's Smudgepuss, and I am addicted to the mayo at DLP... I have a stash still from my last trip and will undoubtedly stock up some more on my next trip.
For you carrier bag lovers, Disneyland Tokyo is fantastic for carrier bags. It's a Japanese cultural thing to give gifts frequently, and always wrapped, so you pretty much end up with one bag per item! I was confused at first when my 3 pin badges, Mickey chopsticks and Mickey ear scraping stick (yes really, something to do with asian people having different ear wax, it was so odd I had to get it!) got lovingly bagged with 5 little extra bags.
Almost forgot, My wife always acquires the hotel stationary that they leave out for you and she also has a thing for the swizzle sticks in Annettes and Planet Hollywood.

Give my carrier bags away :o never ;)
i may have borrowed my glotini glass and ice cube ;)
Yeah the toiletries I do take back, still got them from our visit to DLP in 2009 and some from WDW last year. I don't like to use them though, so unopened.
Also the little pad and pen.
I wouldn't think about taking parts of anything, these things I treat as for our use anyway.

Think I got a couple of '93 bags somewhere... thats about it. Was crazy about the storm trooper masks they sold back then. I don't think they sell them anymore now :(
