Just wondering where everyones favorite places to eat are in the park? My personal favorite is Walt's, although its a little expensive the atmosphere is great and you get a really good view over main street!
Manhattan's: great food, great service. It's quite pricey as well, but it's worth it. And it's one of the few sit-down restaurants of which the vegetarian choice is not pasta-related.
I'm a big fan of Hakuna Matata in Adventureland, their spicy wedges are delicious and i love the jungle drums whilst you eat.
Cafe Mickey
- for all the characters
Walts
-for the atmosphere
mine is annetes diner.
out of interset where is the cheapest place to eat, the most value for money and the tastiest :P
Cheapest-raid the breakfast buffet n fill up your rolls before you leave! :P
Never done it myself though.
Would the cheapest be...dare I say it? Mcdonalds?
One of the tasiest meals we've EVER had was in the Sequoia, but I know that lots of people have had not so great meals there....
i thought mcdonalds had been remvode from the park? we raided the breakfast before lol
it has to be cafe mickeys for us it is a five stasr exoerience
Hmmm interesting...
My favorite restaurant in the resort for special occasions is the California Grill (Manhatten Grill comes a close second.
I also rate Walt's, the Silver Spur, and the Steakhouse very highly.
Fuente del Oro is my favorite counter service. And Annette's offers the best value experience IMHO.
We haven't visited so many restaurants until now.
But we like fastfood restaurants like Colonel Hathi's or Bella Notte because of the atmosphere and the prices ;) And we'll finally try the vegetable fajitas at Fuente del'Oro next time...
We'll also try one or two higher priced restaurants in September, probably the Yacht Club and Rainforest Café.
@ raptor: Which Vegetarian choices do they offer at the Manhattan's? I'm always on search for alternatives because the choices for us Veggies at DLRP are often very limited :(
Well i love to eat at the Cowboy Cookout in Frontierland but i also like to eat at Toad hall on Fantasyland.
we love the rainforest cafe :D
I love the cookie milkshake at annettes and the white chocolate shoe with chocolate mousse at walts dinner (if you hadnt already guessed i like chocolate)lol
Has anyone got any ideas where to go for a birthday meal in disney? :P
QuoteHas anyone got any ideas where to go for a birthday meal in disney?
Open a new topic for this in the trip planning board please. :)
I had no idea everyone loved Cafe Mickey so much! I've never been; where abouts it it ?
Cafe Mickey is at the top of Disney Village as you walk down from the hotels. It's on the other side opposite Rainforest Cafe.
Oh right! It's a shame I missed it! It sounds pretty good!
our favorites are silver spur steakhouse and toad hall in the main park, in the studios its rendez-vous des stars and in the village its annettes dinner every time :D
going to try the steak house and billy bobs saloon this time
i like blue lagoon
Well I didn't realt get a choice because I was with my school so we got a token for all the fast food restraunts.
So I tried the Colonel Hathi's Outpost.
Nice ! , I loved the Mickey shaped pizza's ! :D :mickey2:
my favourite place to eat, so far, is Bella Notte - just love the themeing and detail, also like Casey's corner. As for restaurants, we've only been to Blue Lagoon (twice), themeing is fantastic!!, food is a bit ordinary though, we were sat right by the waters edge first time, 2nd time, the kids turned it into a nightmare, so we are looking to try some of the others. we'll be going to Cafe Mickey at Xmas, would really like to try Walt's though.
Sequoia Lodge does beautiful food and great atmosphere
I was disappointed with Cafe Mickey last week. The pizzas were off the menu - the 'wood oven' is either broken or has gone.
There were no characters (we obviously went at the wrong time) and they got my girlfriend's order wrong (we were too English to complain! It was close enough)
I like Annette's Diner - food as good as Planet Hollywood but much cheaper. The Tex-mex buffet at Billy Bob's is great too.
we've only done cafe mickey once and i think that shows us how let down we were with it. the food was very plain and expensive for what it was and we were virtually ignored by the characters as we were a table of 2 adults a 15 year old and a 10 year old. annette's has always been our fave in the village- the atmosphere is amazing and they really get you involved.
Cafe Mickey rocks we had a game with the sheriff of nottinghams money bag here, me smee and donald were throwing it round the restaurant from table to table and he chased everywhere to get it. Everyone had a such a laugh
For cheaper eats :
Cowboy Cookout BBQ
Toad Hall
Colonel Hathi's Outpost just to sit outside and hear the water(not for the food usually just something to drink)
Better meals:
SilverSpur (although we had a really bad waiter last time who we only saw once during the meal)
Blue Lagoon although you have a 50/50 chance of getting a good meal over the last years (has it gotten better?)so we dont go anymore
Inventions has the best Buffet
Walts
Into the Disneyland park.. above all I love Walt's, for the atmosphere and the quality of the food. Really lovely view on main street usa.
About the Hotels.. Inventions (L)_(L) the best buffet EVER
For cheap food I like Marionette's (I'm not 100% sure that's what it's called.) I love the food at disney cos I don't eat junk food.
Blue Lagoon - when we went, the resetaurant was completely deserted apart from our party, so the waitress could give us her undivided attention and really went out of her way to make our meal magical! the food was excellent too, I had the ostrich. but i've heard that lots of people have had really bad dining experiences there too. this year i'm hoping to try walt's.
hannah xx
Im going to be staying at the Sequioa Lodge and I want to take my wife out for a nice romantic meal whilst we are at Disneyland. Can anyone recommend a good restaurant for this?
I like Blue Lagoon and The Lucky nugget 8)
I've never eaten a proper meal in the park. We had a look at Blue Lagoon once but we don't like seafood! I'll have to eat in the park someday :)
Pizza is my favourite so it has to be either Colonel Hathi's Outpost or Buzz Lightyears Pizza Planet.
Quote from: "RnRCj"I've never eaten a proper meal in the park. We had a look at Blue Lagoon once but we don't like seafood! I'll have to eat in the park someday :)
so dont eat seafood :)
i had the ostritch steak with sweet potatoe fries last time and it was pretty fantastic :)
dont forget you can visit http://www.dlpfoodguide.com (http://www.dlpfoodguide.com) (nothing to do with me!) to see the menus of all the eating places in the parks/village and hotels to see which does something you like the sound of.
Blue lagoon has great theming, but hit or miss with the food.
Cafe Mickey is a must every trip.
Lucky Nugget is always good fun.
Walts for good food and service.
Planet Holywood is always a great meal & friendly staff.
My favorite meal of all has to be the double bacon chilli cheeseburger at anette's....mmmmm!
my favorite is probably bella notte. i simply love pizza and the theming and music are just wonderful. i also like sitting outside in that little backyard with that mosaicked floor. i also like cowboy cookout barbecue and hakuna matata. i prefer mostly the theming than the food cause i'm a picky eater and happy with fast food. so i've never been to walt's or blue lagoon although the theming looks pretty appealing to me :D
maybe i'm gonna make it to anette's this time :mickey2:
We've already ate at a lot of restaurants in DLP. But one of the best places is the Blue Lagoon Restaurant. The atmosphere can no other restaurant top. It's so fantastic. When you're in, you totally frget where you are. It's just like entering another different world. It's so beautiful. The waiters are very friendly and they have a great service. And the food maybe is not everyones taste, but for people who like something different and exotic it's just perfect. I very preferr the ostrich ! Very delicious.
Also the Rainforest Café is a great restaurant too.
It's gotta be Colonel Hathi's Pizza Outpost! I love it. It's grand. There's also nice pizza there!!!! (hence the name).
dlrp-mad :mickey2:
my favorite place to eat for a proper sit down meal is the blue lagoon, which is strange really because i'm a REALLY fussy eater so both times i went i didnt like the food i ordered!! i will get the ostrich steak next time though, my sister had it and i nicked a bit and it is absolutly gorgeous!! you cant beat the atmosphere in there though and the creme caramel desert is to die for!!
either that or i love caseys corner and cafe hyperion. i like watching the cartoons while in eating and the lion king show there is great. ive seen it about 10 times now and i still love it :D
pizza planet is wicked but last time i ate there i had a pizza burger and it was vile! the burger had a big lump of hard stuff in, not sure what it was but i wasnt going to have a look to fine out incase it was a bit of bone! UGH!!
i have never been to cafe mickey but it looks great in there. im going to go next time as long as my little one isnt scared of the charatcers anymore!!
Cafe Mickey's for the pizza, that is awesome.
I also had a really good meal at Sequoia Lodge Hunter's Grill - yum!
I think I will go to California Grill this trip, never been yet. Does anyone know the menu? x
You can watch out for the menu here: http://www.dlpfoodguide.com (http://www.dlpfoodguide.com)
Blue Lagoon by far - Ostrich! yum!
CAFE MICKEY! :mickey2:
We liked Mc Donalds and Hakuna Matata. They were the best DLRP resturants I've been to, Of course everyone loves Mc Donalds ^^
ive been reading the menus for places that sell sandwhiches when it sed tuna and mayonaise, is it just like ones here tuna mixed in with the mayo, or is it tuna with mayonaise put on top?
sorry for the odd question but im picky and was shocked before when i went to a shop and got an egg mayo to find it was slices of egg with mayo on top, not mixed together :D
I was in 2004 in the Sportsbar in Disney Village and ordered the tuna sandwich with fries. The tuna was mixed with the mayonaise.
phew :D i said to my mum "im alright i'll have a tuna mayo sandwhich" and in reply she said "it might just be mayo on top of the tuna" so she made me worry lol
thanks for answering my odd question
Never really eat much in the parks. I always fill up at breakfast and then it's hot dogs or fries. I usually get the hot dog, fries and a drink deal from the carts on the way back through Disney Village. Thing is, I always want to maximise my time in the Parks, and by the time you come out the park, if you haven't booked anything, you can't get in anywhere.
I've had breakfast at a couple of the restaurants in the park. The Plaza Gardens, which was a character breakfast and was quite chaotic - it was a bit of a free for all to be honest, and it needn't have been. I learned my lesson with breakfast times later on, and it's always more relaxed these days.
I've also had breakfast in Bella Notte and The Chateaux? (Pinocchio one).
I had fish and chips in Toad Hall on my very first visit, which was nice.

Tuna & Mayo? Ewww, Tuna mixed with Salad Cream & Vinager is more better.
Well i finally have had a diner at Walt's. It was a special occasion and the whole atmosphere was great. The food was delicious and the service quit well. Only little thing i found a bit of a pity was that the waitress didn't speak that good english. But ah well, she was a darling in helping me with my little big surprise for my girlfriend ;)

even a bigger reason to use it hten seen as others dont really, make her feel extra special :D
oh and that weird tuna sandwhich, with vinegar and salas cream sounds disgusting [-X
Thats true, but in english it just sounds sweeter, our dutch word doens't sound that sweet and is a bit old fashioned ;)

well maybe you should say it in english, all romantic and that
Also a possibility  Mixing of the languages, happens more often these days.
Whichever you choose its better than "The old ball and chain!"
Hoping to eat in Walts or inventions as an extra special treat in October
:( My family and I love DLRP passionately and have been 12 times in the past 10 years with next year's trip planned already but it must be said we do have reservations about the food. Our problem is the shear variability, you can have a wonderful meal in a restaurant one year then, when you go back the following year, suffer a culinary disaster at the same restaurant. Our personal favourites are the Beaver creek at sequoia lodge, Annette's diner and the Rain forest cafe in the village simply because of their reliability.
I've been eating at various places throughout the resort over the last ten years and have never had a bad meal althoyugh some were pretty yuck. on the park we like pizza planet and the cable car bakehouse but elsewhere it's got to be annettes, rainforest cafe and either of the seqouia lodge restaurants :stitch:

I must say I need to agree on that one...
I have had such great experiences at some of the finest restaurants that it convinced me persuading friends to go there as well, but when we did, it turned out to be nothing but a culinar nightmare...
I've had this experience in the Blue Lagoon for instance, but also in the Califonia Grill, which really was a disaster on one of the times I've been there... I must say I appreciat alt's though as that has always been pretty good apart from one occasion I think. Also would be great if they updated their menu a bit more frequently though...
Annette's is always a pleasure, and I also like planet hollywood a lot lately. Their cocktails really are very nice, and the food compares well with what Annette is serving and the food you get in the Rainforest cafe.
My worst experience ever will always remain Ludwig's castle - ever tried getting a beer there? They would make so much more money if they could just half the waittime you are confronted with overthere...
I know that living in Belgium where the average wait time toget your drink is 3 - 4 minutes MAXIMUM, but at Ludwigs it easily takes 20 - 30 minutes and evenlonger to be served. Disgusting if you ask me really... We once actually left without paying, because we had been asking for the check for over 45 minutes... That really convinced me that there is something seriously wrong in their organisation (especially if you consider that they usualy have 4 - 5 people standing there doing nothing LOL)
Either way - this was a but offtopic as we were looking for our BEST experiences... I had dinner once in L'auberge de Cendrillon which was wonderful, but their concept has changed now, turning it into a character dinner place, so I don't know how it is now, but their menu seems to be good value, and a pleasurable experience especially when going with kids...
I do look forward to some more seasoned dishes (asparagus, mussels...) as that would bring so much more to the restaurants...
Plus they really should improve waiter quality in some of their restaurants... I would prefer to pay a bit more if I would have a good waiter, as can be expected in a high standard restaurant...
Didn't realise I was gonna write this much, but well... These are just a few of my thoughts...
Cheers
David.
i've been looking at menus, could someone please tell me what the Mickey brioche is?
Silverspur, for the sheer fact they serve the best steaks :)
For my inbetween bites we always visit the bakeshop for cakes, pies and a delicious cup of cappuchino.
I am *IN LOVE* with the Croque Monsieur, I could eat about 10 per day! yum yum yum!!!!
The Mickey brioche is a soft sweet and buttery little 'cake' shaped in the head of a Mickey. It has a flaky texture and it goes quite nice with coffee or tea or for breakfast but it's not a lot so just for in between the meals
Everywhere where they sell the brioches are also images of it I believe, or it lies behind the counter so you'll see
Hope this was helpfull! enjoy and, bonne apétit! :tink:
eww buttery, i cant stand buttery flavours, i really wanted one aswell.
even though i didnt know waht it was
@fly, your local supermarket will sell brioche rolls and loaves in the bakery department, try them they are delicious especially with jam
I think most of my experiences at the resturants have been good apart from the long queues in the fast food places.
I loved the theming in all the ones I visited last week, especially Toad Hall and Au Chalet de la Marionnette.
My favorite has to be the famous, Walts restaurant. Its a shame I ordered probably the biggest starter and main course (very filling, very quickly) but it was all so lovely, very delicious, extremly happy staff (very amusing too) and a nice atmosphere.
I also adore Annettes restaurant, very delicious, loving the milkshakes (especially the vanialla and oreo cookies), the food is very nice as well, fills you up.
thinking of eating at toad hall, apart from fish and chips what do they do?
Toad Hall also serves Chicken burgers and a few other items (ice creams etc). I had the chicken burger as I'm not keen on fish.
They do serve chicken sandwiches and tomato soup apart from fish'n'chips at Toad Hall. On my first visits to DLP we always ate at the fast food restaurants. But since the last trips we always tried out the table service restaurants and I much more prefer them. The long waiting times at the fast food places are sometimes very annoying and mostly the food isn't thathat good quality. We often had cold food at Colonel Hathi's, Videopolis and Bella Notte. And it's often too crowded there. But the table servicerestaurants are great. Never had anything to complain there. We always had nice quiet atmosphere, very good food and friendly and good working waiters. From now on we will always at there, because I better pay a little more for a good meal then have a not that much good quality fast food.
my favourite is cafe mickey and anette's diner :ears: in disney village
the best place we ate when we went was at anette's diner, we were the first people thier for lunch, loved it. [/img]
in the park as to be cowoy cookout
in the village as to be cafe mickey everytime
There are some great places over the park.
If it's not for food but for the atmosphere I like Colonel Hathi's Pizza Outpost (sitting outside on a nice sommer day - just great) :)
Walt's has an amazing atmosphere as well and The Lucky Nugget Saloon is also something special.
I just find the food a little expensive
Finally been to Cafe Mickey, what an absolute delight!! Great food, great service and off course the Disney characters at your table are SO great :D
We all went for the 30 euro menu.
Here a photo with me and my fiancee @ Cafe Mickey ;)

Ciao :P
what kind of food do they serve in cafe mickey, i noticed how you can prepay for £21 pp in the dlrp brochure, and thinking of doing this
You have to try the pizza in Cafe Mickey, it's the best pizza ever. I think it's made in a wood burning oven and you can choose your own toppings. It's something like 15 euro's for a pizza and for 2.95 extra you can have 5 toppings or something.
There are also some meat things and pasta - normal restaurant food..there was something called Pinocchio's Pasta which was pasta in a sauce and looked amazing, but I couldn't get past the words pizza on the menu. Their puddings are awesome too.
The atmosphere is also really nice
We love the Cowboy cookout for lunch, especially when the band are playing. And in the evenings we tend to go either to Walts, the Rainforest Cafe or have the AMAZING steaks in the Steakhouse - divine! :ears:

We ate in the Fuente del oro which was quite nice, especially as they mucked up our order and for some reason gave us 2 meals.
And the Backlot Express Resturant was quite good too.
We always like to eat in the Rainforest Cafe - We love the atmosphere in there.
I would love to eat in the Blue Lagoon, but I don't really like any of the food there
i love the rainforest cafe but i got food poisioning last time i ate there :(
:cheshire_bounce: :stitch_bounce: :cheshire_bounce: :stitch_bounce: :cheshire_bounce:
we went to plaza gardens and that was alright. tasty food and pretty much all you can eat :P
I LOVE eating at Market House Deli.
My perfect meal there:
1 Coke
1 Brownie
1 Croque
I just can´t get enough of it.
I love this great atmosphere to sit outside. The sun is shining. Just listening to
the MS-Music and watch all these people passing by.
No word can describe this magical moment
I went to the Rainforest Cafe in 2006 and have to say it was my most favourite resturant I have ever eaten in. Its fun friendly and brilliantly Themed. The meal was great in my opinion and massive portions. Try some of the Cocktails if you can they were fab.
We always have a 'ritual' of stopping Casey's Corner for a hot dog when we arrive in the park and have made our way down Main Street. It's a lovely place (in front of the castle and at the top of Main St) to sit, have a snack and just take it all in. It's also lovely getting some waffles (gaufres) and a coffee from Fantastia Gelati and sitting outside It's A Small World to eat them. :)
Restaurant-wise, we always love the Rainforest Cafe - as someone mentioned above, the portions are huge! I usually have my favourite, the Rasta Pasta. :)
Cafe Mickey is great fun, especially if you want to meet characters, and the food is lovely. The last time we were there, when a certain song came on, all the waiting staff started dancing together! :D
My favourite is probably the Blue Lagoon - last time I was there I had a gorgeous pasta with vegetables, pesto and tomato sauce, which was absolutely delicious, and roasted bananas in rum with ice cream for pudding. Add to that that it's inside POTC, and you just can't beat it!
We also had an incredible meal in gorgeous surroundings at the Manhattan Restaurant at the Hotel New York.
I had a great meal at Restaurant Rendez-Vous Des Stars in the Studios once - a lovely pasta bolognese (HUGE portion!) and a pudding called Iles Flottantes, which was meringues floating in custard sauce and was delicious!
We also had a lovely, if a bit pricey, meal at Auberge de Cendrillon - though the white chocolate slipper dessert was wonderful (I remember the chocolate mousse in it being amazing, and not being able to figure out quite how to eat the slipper!)
There are still loads of restaurants we haven't tried - looking forward to going to some of them on our next trip! The only problem - there aren't enough meals in one day... :D
:hello:
Has to be the Hunters Grill at The Sequoia Lodge for me. For about 25 euros ( when I was last there ) per person ( Adult ) there was no complaints from me. Quite yummy :)

Love cheeseburger and Coke at Videopolis, while watchin disney cartoons, if it has to be fast, and cheap.
For dinner my favourite one is Blue Lagoon, great atmosphere and the best sea food.
BTW Disney hot dogs, although they are expensive, are the best ones I ever ate.
I ate at Planet Hollywood, Annette's Diner and Cafe Mickey (as well as a takeaway panini the night I got there!) And all meals were good. I didn;t get to eat in the marionette which was weird and I didn't have any lunch when I was there so I didn't eat that much in the park but it was all good food what I did have! Especially ben and Jerry's!
Where is the best place for a buffet meal, and what do they serve
thanks
In the village my favorite is the Annette's Diner. But I never tryed at Cafe Mickey's. Maybe I should do that sometime. It must be great there since everybody seems to love it.
In the Park it's the pizza Outpost. It's so nice there and husband loves the lasange. :D
We had a really bad meal at cowboy cookout :(
had a okish burger at Videopolis last time.
I would love to eat at blue lagoon but its beyond our price range we did once do Planet hollywood when we stayed on resort (we keycamp now) and it was very good the kids loved it.
I think annets diner is great brilliant service but I am afraid we usually have fry up in the morning before we go and then have a massive giant hotdog from caseys for luch and make do till we get home apart from a pastry.
