Title: Changing prices
Post by: glenn on May 16, 2018, 05:22:08 PM
I thought I would just write about how dlp changes the prices.I checked earlier in the year for prices for late September for 3 nights in the sequoia lodge and the quote was £889,I checked again today and with free half board and 25% off the quote was £1465,if someone can explain this I would appreciate it.I phoned Disney and got no joy.

I think the earlier price is due to the early booking offer that adds two nights free if you booked before April 11th. I could be wrong though.

It's always cheaper if you book earlier (same with many things). A good bench mark for me is about 6-9months ahead (which is when it's possible to book the Eurostar).

We often book early and find its cheaper. We booked September last year for April this year and it's was a thousand pound cheaper when we booked, it was also the free night offer.

It seems that staying on site gets more expensive, whereas staying off site gets less expensive the later you leave the booking.  This is just my experience. I imagine the prices increase as less rooms are available if you wait!?

We've found this too and yes it's the offers and timing we've never booked the free half board offer as it's so much more expensive than the 4for 2 offer. I'm sure your aware but look at other countries offers your allowed to use any offer just find dlp and ask to book whichever offer suits 😊

We experienced a price hike of over £100 in a day!

Please everyone check the alternative suggested packages that show up when you read continue as we found signature package for only £67 more!

I had a 4 night quote at £1600 (disneyland hotel no meals) which is now showing at £2184 but still saying it's 2 nights free.  I find they have so many rooms at one price and then it jumps up and keeps on increasing.

We went as a family last October (2 adults/2 children) and we paid £786 to stay at Cheyenne on the 2 nights free deal. I looked at booking again in December '17 for this year for the same week and hotel under the same offer and it was just over £1500 !! That price has never dropped. It seems that since DLP has been fully owned by the Walt Disney company prices have rocketed. I'm sure this is to pay for their future investments but that kind of cost means we won't be visiting again anytime soon.

Only other thing I can think is because of when school holidays fall. Also whether Halloween day is in that week or not - the week Halloween falls in is the busiest part of the year for DLP and has some of the highest prices.
