Title: Disappointed by closures
Post by: A&S&O on January 20, 2018, 10:37:59 PM
In September we booked Davy Crocket for May 18. We were told that there would be no facilities there as they are all being refurbed.
We have since found out that there will also be no Phantom Manor, Crush's Coaster, Rock 'n Roller Coaster or Alice's Tea Cups. Disappointed by all the closures, plus queues will obviously be longer for what few rides are left.

Current info on disneylandparis.co.uk says that davy crockett guests will get a pass to use any of the other hotel pools apart from disneyland hotel and also a pass for an evening at villages nature which isnt a bad alternative to davy crockets facilities? Shame about the rides though- are they just for a few days each or all overlapping?

The closures are for quite a while. We booked in early October for an April visit and were told then that phantom manor, crush and teacups are closed. We are not too bothered by these, apart from phantom manor, and crush is always down anyway haha but it's not fair for others who want to experience/enjoy these rides and were not told at the time of booking. I know it's often too early when people book but there was only a short time between my booking and A&S&O booking theirs.

PM has been known about for a long time - it's obviously out of schedule as such though so it does add an extra closure to the normal routine.

Tea cups is likely normal maintenance which you'd assume has to happen then because it's outside and needs re-painting so they need to try to guarantee decent weather for the work.

Whilst I'm fairly certain that's also Crush's normal window, I'm surprised they choose to jave RnR closed at an overlapping time what with them being both big rides in the Studios.

We weren't told about any closures when we booked - apart from there being no facilities at Davy Crocket.

Disney's "Guest Care" response is to quote their terms and conditions that says they can close whatever they want, whenever they want - so tough.

Its not just the closures, its the fact that the people who would have been queuing for those rides will now be in the queues for other rides. Not looking forward to our stay at all. Wish we could cancel.

No, has to be school holidays before our APs expire and we're only free at the end of May.

I suspect unfortunately the only one confirmed at the time was PM. Due to the nature of maintenance work they can only be reasonably sure of the dates 90 days in advance and even then the dates may change slightly.

I have emailed Disney regarding this as we are in a similar situation. It's been over three weeks now and we have had no reply. Has anyone else got any experiences of Disney replying or not replying in this case? We phoned in the first case but got a very rude cast member, hence why we emailed our situation in the end.

Depends what the situation is and whether they think they can do anything about it. Tbh I wouldn't be surprised if an enquiry they didn't consider solvable got pushed to the bottom of the pile - alas their communication is certainly not a strong point.

just found out that in addition to Phantom Manor, Crush's Coaster, Rock 'n Roller Coaster and Alice's Tea Cups, Buzz will also be closed!

That is a ridiculous amount of "big" rides closed. Who plans these closures? It really is a Mickey Mouse organisation!

Is there a closure date for Rock n Roller?

From what I recall reading earlier, it's closed May 14th for just a few days of normal maintenance. Then will close in September for its overhaul.
