Title: April or Feb?
Post by: haribosmum on January 04, 2018, 01:49:03 PM
We regularly visit in February (going again this year) and know that the weather changes dramatically, had snow/thermals but also visits where we haven't needed coats.

Last year we went in August and the park was much busier than we are used to.  We are considering a trip in April next year as it's the same price as Feb half term.  It would be the sun-thur before Easter weekend itself, but I expect school holidays for lots of places.

Just trying to decide what might be different (other than the temperature).  Have the winter season entertainment finished by 7th April?  anyone else been both of these times of year who can give me a heads up?

Not been in April before, but you can get an idea at how busy the parks will be by looking at the peak calendar. I'm going the first week of February (It's a super off-peak time period, so hoping it will be dead!).

Winter entertainment finishes on the 10th I believe (last Frozen show?), after that it's Season of the Force.

If you went in February you'd be there for Season of the Force, April would be the new Pirates and Princesses festival.

Thanks, this is for 2019 (am being organised) but the seasons normally stop same time I think.  So potentially we would see something different if we went in the April. Off to find the peak calendar :-)

"Have the winter season entertainment finished by 7th April?"

Ehm, April is Spring. So one could conclude that yes, WINTER entertainment would be finished in SPRING.
I'd advise you to check the Disneyland Paris website first. Since all of the information is actually on there ;)

Ok. So the question probably couldve been answered by a little thought and personal research but yet again you...that means YOU MISS DLRPWONDERS#CAPSLOCK feel its ok to be rude. Stop it. Right now. Its irritating, immature and not welcome by anyone else on this forum.

I do wonder why someone who seems so against disney....is on the forum? I read your posts dlpwonders and think DOOM!!! DOOM!!!!
And.....we went to the star wars party a coupke of years vack. Cheaper entrance tickets got you jn for the parade, rides, meet and greets and dance party. If the cheaper ticket isnt paying for any of these thingz whats it actually paying for? Entrance for the evening only? But you cant enter the parade areas?

What I'm asking can't be found in the Disney brochure - yes I know when the different seasons are this year (and previous years) and can guess for 2019, but it's more to do with peoples personal experience between April and Feb.

We went in August last year and really didn't enjoy ourselves as much.  Yes the weather is nice and the park open later, but we just preferred our February visits. I April feels like it should be somewhere in the middle of how busy it is summer/winter. I would like to visit at a different time to give us a chance of seeing a different theme from our visit next month, so may go with April and can always go back to Feb in 2020 :-)

We have been in both Feb and April. Feb 1/2 term was very busy and I expect it to be the same this year when we visit with Season of the Force running, who can say if it will run in 2019? I think they're have found a winner so is likely! April we found quite surprising, warm and dry, again can't predict the weather but certainly nicer than Feb. The Spring festival was also on but stopped for the 25th, but looking so far in the future once the 25th celebrations have ended it may return. We definitely found it quieter as people from the UK seem to spread over the 2 week school holidays rather than over a long weekend in Feb. Some schools have their dates out already so its worth checking to see if you can jiggle your dates. I would be inclined to give April a try if you have already "done" Season of the Force and see what's new.

Never had bad weather in April, unlike some very wet May's, being stuck in a flooding Newport bay car park was fun!! April can be busy depending on school holiday dates as opposed to February, but at least it will hopefully never drop to minus 15 in April ! It is good to plan ahead and to share informative questions and answers here among friendly Disney addicts.

We are trying April for the first time this year, going 2nd week of our school holidays (ours are 30th march to 13th april) it depends where you are. I know some of our schools have 2018-19 term dates out already, i also check with other countries when their holidays are. It was cheaper our second week by about £400 I think so that covered a meal plan. Will let you know what it was like if you can wait that long (I probably couldn't haha)

Thanks all.  Our school term dates are out already and the first week of easter holidays is cheaper than the second.  I think we might try April and see what they have on at that time.

We are going in Feb having only been once before in October.

I have a feeling we will be back many many times now tho as we have that Disney bug!
