Hello,
Can anyone tell me how long it usually takes to get off the Eurostar and back through border control in London? Mine gets back at 18:47pm and I need to book a return home to Sheffield that same evening :) Thank you!
On a good day, 15 mins (if you're near the front of the queue). But it's highly variable. If you're at the back of the queue then more like 45 minutes.
If you booked direct with Eurostar, then you can choose your own seats, pick a seat from somewhere between carriages 1 & 5 as these are closest to the exit at St Pancras. Get yourself up & by the door a few minutes before arrival & you'll be first off & at the front of the queue.
St Pancras is a lovely station. Lots of nice food options & some decent shops too. Really not too bad a place to spend a bit of time so I'd err on the side of caution & if it were me, I'd give myself no less than an hour between my arrival time & train back to Sheffield.
Thank you for the swift response question rocker :)
You've just reminded me...I have booked directly with Eurostar so can I choose my seats now or do we do it on the day? We travel 4 Sept and 8 Sept.
Just avoid going from Gard du Nord! The queue was ridiculously long and it took near an hour to get past passport control.

You should be able to do it on the Eurostar website in advance. I booked via Disney and they sent me the booking reference so I could sign in. I then just went to my booking and chose my seats. I go on July 10th and this was several weeks ago.
