Title: Shuttle back from parks to hotels
Post by: jenny on April 18, 2017, 03:43:23 PM
We have booked to go to DLP end of May with our 10 year old girls and are really excited. First trip for them and me and OH haven't been for a long time.

Can anyone help wrt getting the shuttle bus back after the illuminations show at the end of the day. The website says the last shuttle is 11pm but the show starts then doesn't it?

TIA

Which hotel are you staying in?

Found that the walk to the park from Marne Le Vallee was only 10 minutes and was a lot easier than squeezing into the last shuttle.

Thanks.

We are in Sequoia but just thinking at that time of night the girls may be too tired to walk. Apparently it is 15 minutes from the park.

The main building for Sequoia is literally the other side of the Disney lake - you can see it from the Earl of Sandwich at the top of the Village. From the main entrance of the park til you get into your beds, should be no more than 15 minutes tops.

How old are the girls? We've always walked, find it a lot easier than taking the bus, for the small one we have a stroller. It doesn't seem that long cause you're walking through Disney village and there's a lot to look at.

Thanks for the responses. The girls are 10 and do not have a problem with walking and it is not that far. As someone has mentioned the last bus may be busy and may as well stroll through to the hotel. My OH keeps telling me to chill and stop worrying about every little thing so will see how it goes when we get there. Thanks again everybody.

We went in February this year and saw the show at night, issue was that once the show ended that was it and everyone was leaving at the same time so the shuttle busses were busy - we just walked back rather than get on a packed bus

Definitely walk it. You'll be back later if you wait for the shuttle bus. Which will be rammed and you'll undoubtedly have to stand on anyway.

How does that work if you are staying offsite? Surely if the park shuts later then the shuttles also run later? There is no way I could walk to the Dream Castle after a whole day in the park!

Some of my best memories of Disneyland Paris are from the (then) late night strolls back to the hotel.
All the lights that sparkle and the music playing, it made a good impression on me as a little boy  :)

Also walking back to the hotel at the water gave me the feeling we were in the best place in the world, so magical, yet so quiet and beautiful.

My advice, go walk it, yes it's a 15 minute walk, but it's a 15 minute walk you will enjoy!
But if the girls can't walk anymore you still have the option to take the bus back  :)

Always walked back-end with a 3 year old. (No pushchair-on our shoulders or pottering along and holding our hands.)
By the time you have queued for the bus you could be in your Pjs . Dont rush, stroll down Main Street, through the village and to your room. People do get very tetchy at this point so plan to not get involved and enjoy the beautiful scenery.
Then plan to have a slightly lazy morning the next day.

They wait. Or take their own car.

Seriously-we were lucky to go to WDW and three of the parks had night shows at the end of the day
Very few of the hotels were walking distance, so you had to use the buses.
I can actually remember being stood in the Magic Kingdom, waiting for a bus where we would then have to stand for 20 minutes to get back to our hotel and thinking "Right now, I miss the Disney village and Newport Bay" #firstworldproblem ;)

Have often walked to the onsite Hotels, it is pleasant if not raining! When the whole family visits we also usually have a hire car as we have a gite 40 mins away but sometimes I just go with one of our younger children and as a non driver have to rely on the shuttles to offsite hotels such as the Kyriad, Explorers and next time Dream Castle. It is at least a 45 minute walk from the park with a child and that can be tough after a 12 hour plus day walking in the park so my question was; When the park closes later during the summer months do the hotel shuttles also continue to a later time? #sorefeet#needaweenow!#disneylandproblem  ;)
