Title: Changes To Inventions
Post by: claire2281 on March 29, 2017, 08:38:58 PM
Just a head's up, there are some changes to the character meals are Inventions.

You can now only have dinner there if you are a Disneyland Hotel guest.

Apparently lunch (4 sittings between 12 and 3pm) is only available if you're staying on site.

Brunch will be open to everyone.

It's a strange choice...with them already shutting cafe mickey....unless they're going to introduce character dining somewhere else in the park for lunch and dinner

Yes. Particularly considering that the character breakfast is very much in favour of those staying in the hotels too. Cutting down character meals for those staying off site to just 1 meal at Inventions and Auberge doesn't seem economically sound.

I remember when I went a few years ago the characters were in Cowboy Cookout so maybe they will do something similar and have a meal like that elsewhere.

Reading on another forum, it's not clear that this is so. People are ringing up and getting reservations for dinner even if they are not in the hotel. It's causing complete confusion

Hi I have just called up today to book Inventions for dinner and they have taken my reservation. I have a premier food plan so don t know if that has meant they would take it.

A number of people have rung/messaged/tweeted now and it appears the way they have written it is incorrect. You can still book dinner even if you are not staying at DLH.

Interesting. This came from a reliable source so either it's been misinterpreted OR it is something that is due to happen but not for a while yet.

I tweeted the DLPhelp to ask this. The response I got was "Hi! You can book at Inventions for dinner depending of the availability of the restaurant."

I've just called the reservation line, and was able to book dinner for the evening of my stay, after telling them I was at the Newport Bay. I'm hoping there are no issues, but I am printing off the tweet just in case.

Is this to try and stop people wanting to meet characters but not staying at the hotel and not buying a park ticket?

It could be a possibility. But, at the moment, no CM seems to know about this and you can book to eat there wherever you are staying.
I am hearing you have to be quick to get times you want to dine. With the loss of Cafe Mickey, it's putting pressure on spaces.
