Hi, I was just wondering if you would recommend staying in a club room such as the golden forest in sequoia lodge? Is it worth paying extra for the benefits? Such as fast passes and any other info would be greatly appreciated about stays in the golden forest. Please let me know your opinions ;) we are hoping to stay there 4n 5d in March 2017
Imo it's worth it if you're going during a busy time. Otherwise, personally, I'd go for a standard room and have extra spending money instead.
Just back from three nights Golden Forest and it was waaaayyyy better than previous trips staying non-GF in Sequoia. We only paid £50 total extra for it, according to my notes from when I was booking, but I'd pay more for it if required on future trips. The breakfast room, afternoon tea, drinks (which you can take away and into park), hotel fastpasses... all make a big difference...
Interesting!! Thank you!! What about everybody else??? :-\ would love to know what you think please xx
No advice but following with interest. We have booked golden forest for July/August trip. We have stayed in the lodges and in Montana room before and both were okay.
Have decided to go for the extras this time as:
1. Private check in means less waiting and more time in parks
2. Snacks and drinks free will make a big difference to our budget as these can add up so much in the parks (we don't mind popping back to hotel once during the day and I understand you can take bottles/cans out with you.
3. Hot breakfast!! I was skipping the Cheyenne breakfast last trip as it didn't offer much I liked. I am looking forward to the pancakes, sausage, bacon, egg and potato and hoping to fill up on breakfast this time!
4. The hotel fast pass. This should be great for avoiding the big queues. I can't see my 3yr old enjoying waiting over an hour for Peter Pan/Buzz. This will mean we can get right on these busy rides. Also for us adults it will mean fast access to the bigger rides and taking turns won't take so long = more time with the kids for family fun whilst still getting to enjoy our grown up favourites.
So yeah am hoping to see a big difference to our trip because we have booked club level.
Do let me know how you get on!

We are going to stay in the golden forest club the 28 of March this year. So only 20 days to go!! Never stayed there before. I am planning to write a trip report when I am back where I will cover everything about the gfc. So if you're intressted you can read my experiences there.

I am certainly looking foreward to al this extras. I love some pancakes for breakfast
You only get 1 one hotel fast pas per person per day. They are dated and you can't use them between 1 and 4 o'clock.
Yeah definitely worth it, going for breakfast whenever you like with no queue, it would cost us a fortune in drinks (2 ad and 3 kids!) That we get from the club room and the fastpass is great, we use it for a family ride like ratatouille - we are going to NPB this year, but again a club room!
Simple answer....Yes ;D
Can anyone tell me please, with the soft drinks included in Golden forest, are there diet cokes and cokes?
Is the nespresso paid for or available to buy?
Thank you.
Yes, Diet Cokes are available. The Nespresso capsules are provided daily in your room at no extra charge but we found they only left us 3 capsules between the two of us ! This year I am taking some extra of my own to make sure we have enough. I buy the Starbucks capsules in Tesco as they are compatible with the Nespresso machines. I also take extra tea bags and UHT milk as kettle is provided too.
The fast passes we use for Ratatouille ride as that is always the longest queue.
Perfect, thank you Boxy.
Following as we will be interested to hear back from folks as you return. I think it's a right swizz that you don't get breakfast as standard in the hotels anymore. So interested to hear about GF breakfast and also afternoon tea if that continues.
GFC is absolutely wonderful. If you make good use of the fantastic breakfast buffet and afternoon snacks, you do not really ned to eat anythin in the parks until the late evening. The food offered at both breakfast and tea time is delicious.
We went ahead and booked GF last week. Looking forward to the breakfast and afternoon tea.
There's a really great trip report over on that page and there's a couple of good Youtube videos from this year that are worth watching.
Thanks for all the responses on this thread - after doing a bit of research into Golden Forest today, we've upgraded our booking. It was only an additional £100 ish for 4 adults for 4 nights, which we reckon we would definitely spend on breakfast and snacks that we'll now get included. The fastpass and ability to use the lounge are nice perks - my parents are coming with my sister and I, and they tend to like resting in the hotel for a while in the afternoon while we tear around the stuff they're less interested in! The Golden Forest lounge will be perfect for them.
Hi, Just a quick question.
The Fast passes, are they for every ride..? How do they work..?
They are for any ride that has a normal fast pass but I believe there's a time restriction (you can't use them between 1 and 4pm? It's been a while since I had any).
You just hand over the ticket given to you in your hotel pack to the CM at the fast pass entrance, simple as that!
