Title: Best Buffet??
Post by: lilacpoppy on February 20, 2017, 03:50:10 PM
Hi, whats the best buffet to go to for dinner? we've not been to one before as normally choose table service, but i would like to try one, ideally one that will cater for an 8yr old who can be a bit fussy, and myself who's vegetarian.

Also, what are the best restaurants to cater for us?

Thanx

;D

Loved both the buffets at Hunter's Grill (Sequoia Lodge Hotel) and Plaza Gardens (Disneyland Park) as they are in the mid price range and have a nice selection.

My children are really fussy and they struggled to find food in Plaza Gardens.  Their favourite by far was Billy Bobs in the village.  Much more child friendly stuff, nicer puddings (more choice) and better service.

Yes you are correct there are lots of puds and starters available in BBills  but we foung the main hot dishes very limited and disappointing. In the park would still go for Plaza Gardens, and would rather jump on a hotel shuttle to the Santa Fe or Cheyenne for Tex Mex options.

We found the total opposite.  The only thing my kids ate in PG (apart from dessert!) was pizza.  Everything else "looked weird" according to them, and tbh I didn't eat much either.  In Billy Bobs they had stuff like chicken, ribs, corn cobs and plain tortillas that my kids could fill with the stuff they liked.  I suppose it depends on what kind of food you like cos they were very different so it's not really a straight comparison.

We used to like PG but our last visit, about 4 months ago, it was poor and the service was dreadful.  To me, it looked understaffed.

If you are a meat eater then Billy Bobs is for you. Be aware tho' that is caters for a "cowboy" and as such veggie options are few.
