It appears that another hotel is being planned for the resort. A local consultation has been published which shows the potential location being opposite the Santa Fe.
From the plans it seems that this could be a version of the Art of Animation hotel found at WDW.
Thoughts? Should they go with another theme entirely?
Like the idea of a new hotel - wish it was a closer location! The fact that it's further out suggests it will be a 'budget hotel' but I suspect Disney will try and make it at least a 3*. For me, location is a big factor so I wouldn't personally stay that far out.
Nice idea but I'm not sure how well it would be executed in comparison to Florida so I feel that they should go with a different theme, purely to stop comparisons.
With all the other hotels having an American theme. It would be kinda strange building a hotel with no American reference...
But you know.. It's Paris.. So anything can happen.
^Good point. Maybe a Hollywood theme (and thus connecting the Animation theme). Although it'd be a shame not to have it close to the Studios.
And what of the Santa Fe? Is that not getting a retheme as well? Maybe one will be Star Wars and the other Marvel.. ::)
Star Wars hotel but with properly themed rooms like the WDW hotels would be EPIC!

Well, they already re-themed it to Cars (shame shame shame ;D)... I can't think of another iconic part of the US, that hasn't been covered.
Except:
- New Orleans. Could work, but they would have to add some serious river work like in Orlando.
- Las Vegas. Will not happen. Because it's tacky. And useless without the strippers and gambling :-X
- Hollywood. I agree it's more fitting around the studios.
- South Beach. Could work with all the neon (same as Santa Fé).
Really looking forward to see what they will build.
^Love the idea of a New Orleans hotel. The river work is possible, as they have plenty of land to play with. Sadly though I think we'll end up with a generic themed resort - such as the All-Star resorts.
Which leads me to why I've dug up this post. Although the plans show a style similar to the Art of Animation, what of the Toy Story Hotel in SDL?
I'd rather they didn't, but no doubt it'd be popular.

I would love it if it was executed as good as SDL but thats 100% never going to happen ;) I have booked SDL including the proper disney hotels (because you can't just stay in one rights?) so I will do a good and thorough trip report once I arrive home as my opinions could change.
I really don't like the Toy Story hotel in SDL. It looks cheap and unimaginative :(

I'm not a fan of the (re-)theming to popular IP's in and around the main park. Disney parks can do better. If anything, Mystic Manor over in HKDL proves that ;)
If you look at WDW, the only "USA" themed hotels missing from DLP are a boardwalk style or a New Orleans style
What about having a version of the Explorer's Lodge that's being built in Hong Kong?
How about a new and original concept as opposed to something that already exists at another disney property.
^I can't disagree with you there. However I'd rather it be a broad theme ie. the Newport Bay Club, the Mira Costa or the Grand Californian - rather than one to a specific theme such as the Toy Story Hotel.
