Got 48hrs to decide if we're going to take the leap and book summer hols trip to DLP or go with our original plan of taking 2016 off and going to Devon for a week instead.
Just trying to weigh up if queues are likely to be as crazy long as they were the last two years during Oct half term?
Anyone been during both hols and can compare/contrast the two for me please? Queue lengths, crowds, emh etc.
I'm thinking the closures are going to lengthen the queues and crowds considerably too. Think I've got Disney-coloured glasses on...

This shows by day historic/predicted "busy-ness"
Personally if you've already done Halloween then do summer. Halloween is the best season though with the after party! :)
Just for those of you wanting to know the actual answer... we've just got back and the queue lengths and busyness are very similar. Craaaazy busy!
We have done both and as previously said really busy
I've only done August a long time ago and remember it to be busy and really hot! But you have the added bonus of the parks staying open till 11pm so more time to do stuff.
I did a day trip last August and got a bit of tourist-rage (like road rage, but with people slowly strolling along main street. I was on a day trip and had a plan of everything I wanted to get done ;D).
I'd much rather go in October. I know the hours are shorter but I prefer the milder temperature and pumpkins everywhere :-*
Pick October...every time.
We've done both and October was MUCH busier, even tho Aug is always busy. In Oct the big queues are quite ludicrous, which is a shame as the theming is fantastic. In Aug we can go on everything 1-2 times each over a day and a half. Then we can go again at Christmas for much shorter queues!
We've done both over the years, I went in October about 8 years ago and didn't find it packed.... but this is 8 years ago!!
We've just come back from a Summer trip and we had our best trip yet, the only thing we queued for was 45mins for Pirates of the Caribbean because we wanted it to be our first ride and we were so excited for the upgrade!! The park was busy (but not as busy as Valentines day this year :-X ) but you just have to be smart about it! Save your shopping, shows and exploring for the middle of the day (or go have a nap :P) and do the rides first thing and from parade time onwards. We found it so easily manageable this summer trip and we were prepared for battle after our February half term trip (#nightmare).
We reckon now that you can enjoy any time there regardless of crowds especially with the quality of shows and provided that you are happy to compromise on what you do!
