Title: Sorcerers of Disneyland?
Post by: princesspiggy on March 17, 2016, 08:48:27 AM
I heard some rumors about the game Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom coming to Disneyland Paris, but I can't find anything about it... Has anyone heard about it? And what do you think about it?

I think that the addition of the game would be very welcome to the Disneyland Park! I don't think the language should be a problem. Since the portals interact with the cards, the portal can respond in French or English,  according to a French or English card put in... I don't think building the portals would be so expensive, the animation and voices of the original game can be used  (so only the French vocals should be recorded),... so adding the game shouldn't be a huge cost. And they could advertise the game as a new  attraction for the 25th birthday!

Any news or thoughts about it?

I read a discussion somewhere where fans wished it would come, but have never seen any official mention of it.

I do actually think it would be very expensive to create the portals.

It would be great though. Anything interactive would be great. Buzz is the nearest thing to interactive and that's excellent (DLP's version is much better that DL and WDW).

Would it be that expensive? I don't think the screens for the portals cost that much. I think the cost of the computers for the portals wouldn't be that huge either, since they don't have to do a lot (only play a few options). The biggest cost seems to me the card readers?

But wouldn't it be a lot cheaper to add the game then building a new attraction?

If these rumors would be true, I would definitely understand their choice. After all the costs of renovating the existing attractions they can add this (compared to the other attractions) relatively cheap attraction. But it would be -like you said- a huge hit thanks to its interactivity, and they could promote it for their 25th birthday.

When I first heard about it, I thought it was just one of those many rumors. But when I started thinking about it, I was like: isn't it one of the cheaper options to build a new (and popular) attraction? Now I believe this is the only option for the resort if they want to add a new attraction for the 25th birthday. So I was curious if anyone knew something more about it...

I don't know how probable 'Sorcerers of Disneyland' arriving at DLP is but sure am wishing it will happen.

We're both huge fans and play it every time we can

It would be interesting to hear what's behind the rumors.

I wonder if someone got "Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom" confused with "Magic Cards" - the new room card / park access ticket that is being introduced?
