Just a small bit of information concerning the entertainement in Toon Studios. Starting in July, the Toon Train will be performing several times a day in Toon Studios. The only blurry infos I had is that it will be a small float with musicians on it, and some characters too. Sounds like a small Good Morning WDS. Anything that can bring fresh entertinement to the studios is welcome so! Happy!
Great news! It are these kind of things that make up a Disney park.
Wonder what train can be used...

May be something like this one...

I read on DCP (can't remember who posted this) that Cinderella's old float would be stripped down and rebuild to the Toon Train.
That's a strange float to use... and will it fit through the Toon Studio area? The paths look pretty small.
I love Sigton's idea of a road-based Toon Town trolly!! Then it could definitely be like the toon are "commuting" to work each morning.

They will probably use the parade route and make it end between animagique and flying carpets.
This parade to me sounds alot like the new character express in the disneyland park :)
Hmmm.... I am a train fan and I don't think it should go in Toon Studios - The roads are small enough as it is.
Maybe we could have something like Disney's Character Express but more shorter, I could like this music on it:
Life is a Highway
Just Like we Dreamed It
Dancin
What do you think?
It seems that this will be the old Cruella Devil Show float that will serve as the Toon Train. One of the set will be themed on RATATOUILLE with Rémy and Emile characters on it !

That float has been for "High School Musical Tour" but it is either that or the Cinderella float fron WWODP.

Actually it is the old Mary Poppins float which has been used for High School Musical.

Thanks Poppy for reminding me about that! I just forgot that the Mary Poppins float is being for the HSM show. :D
Now, back to the topic, Let's have the Toon Train be something like this:
Train (Small Loco)
Carridge (Pixar stars
Carridge (Mickey, Pooh and Others)
Carridge (Disney Villians)
This topic is only for actual news about the Toon Train, not for ideas or brainstorming. Feel free to open a topic in the Imagineering board for this. :)
The latest news from the Toon Train:
Starring Cruella De Vil's sets will be reused this year, with the middle scene replaced by a Toon Town backdrop, Clarice will play a big part in it.
Also, it won't come out at Toon Studio, but on Front Lot from July 14th to 26th August on several hours a day (not on mondays and tuesdays).

Oh so they haven´t take the cruella float for Highschool musical?!
I´m wondering that it will be located at front lot.
Or maybe around these locations:
Tower of Terror
Rocking Roller Coaster
Studio Tram Tour
Great news that there's some fresh entertainment coming to the studios. Good to see them developing cool stuff round the toon studios.
dlrp-mad :mickey2:
It's the Toon Train's first day and I wonder what the train looks like.
There are some images of the toon train on disneytheque:
 Link (//http://www.disneytheque.com/index.php?/archives/62-Lactu-des-Walt-Disney-Studios.html)
It looks pretty cool doesn't it
It's good to see that it is based mostly on Chip, Dale and Clarice, 3 great disney characters that don't seem to get as much attention as a lot of the others :)
I didn't expect it to change that much! In Toon Studio this might look nice, but Front Lot? A bit weird... In terms of looks anyway, it might be great with the music and everything.
But I'm not convinced. :?
More characters, more entertainment in the studios! Got to be a good thing!
Hmm to me it looks rather hideous for a frontlot truck, it should have been in toon studio, but I will hold my view on it fully until I have seen it in person.
This isn't what I expected it to be, I thought it would be something like Disney's Character Express.
It's BORING people! The Jazz performers do a great job, but the show as a whole is a big yawn. And don't get me started about the way too sexy acting Clarice...
Anyway, here are our photos, I'll upload a video soon.
http://www.photosmagiques.com/gallery/v ... oon_train/ (http://www.photosmagiques.com/gallery/v/waltdisneystudios/spectacles/toon_train/)
I don't know, but I think I don't like it too. There are only 3 chracters. I thought there would be more. I mean, its name is Toon Train, so I expected some toons and not only Chip'n'Dale and Clarice. Although I think Clarice really is sweet.
Yeah,
I thought it would have more characters too!
Like a Character Express for the Studios! :P
I guess the name of the show set some expectations that cant be delivered. In reality it isn't much about the toons indeed. Personally, I can only judge from some pics, but the sets look nicely done to be honest. Its only a slight make-over from the previous Cruella de Vil sets. On the other hand the car is still an eyesore, I simply don't like cars in a Disney park unless they are oldtimers that fit in with the theme.
Well, I'm a sucker for Chip & Dale (and have never seen Clarice) so lame though it may be I have a feeling I'll love it anyway!
I can't wait to see this, so much seems to have changed since our last visit and it was only 5 months ago!
When will DLRP lear to stick to the shows conceived by the US ? Animagique is cheap, Cruella was lame, Toon Train is PURE CRAP ! ! Look at the huge success of High School Musical, that's entertainement!! Even the Lion King was conceived under Anne Hamburger's management...
Candleabration is sweet... And was not conceived by the Americans. Lilo & Stitch Catch the Wave Party is or was one of the most popular shows in the Resort, non-US too.
I wouldn't rave too much about American shows either... The WDW Cinderellabration is in my opinion still the worst Disney show ever, and don't get me started about Tarzan Rocks and Voyage of the The Little Mermaid. Oh and their take on Moteurs Action :-# Get my point?
But still, Toon Train is stupid... And HSM On Tour rocks
Yes not all the shows are boring in DLP. And o lot of show from the US don't have the quality like our shows here. So I think it just depends on the different tastes of everybody. Oh and Animagique isn't cheap, it's such a nice and funny show. Very entertaining.
Here's a video from the show:
http://www.dailymotion.com/photosmagiqu ... toon-train (http://www.dailymotion.com/photosmagiques/video/x2kpft_toon-train)
Why did they have the loney Tunes theme at the begining?
I don't know what exactly it is but I know it isn't disney :?
A few words to say:
WORSE DLRP SHOW EVER!!!!
It looks a little bit boring.
I've actually warmed a bit to the set now (apart from the ugly "Toon Train" sign itself), but actually it's the "train" that is the major problem with the "toon train".
If they just had a nice jazz band on a small trailer, some characters dancing with kids around it, that'd be great. Clarice could turn up half way through to join the dance, with Chip and Dale trying to woo her but failing. Trying to turn it into some kind of full show on a massive trailer like this just hasn't worked, it looks so pointless. It's obvious the best part of the show was where they invited up the kids to dance... only to them push them back to their parents so the characters could carry on ruining the jazz performance.
Oh, and they at least should have wheeled it out in front of Animagique (along that bit of the parade route where it's wide enough) too, I don't understand why they don't...
So yeah, this is the Peter Pan to the Rescue of 2007.
Well i know you all feel that this is just a pointless show, but after watching Raptor's video (thanks  ), I actually quite enjoyed it. I thought some of their dance routines were very good and quite tooney, I dunno, perhaps it's just me and i'm a bit biased as C+D are two of my favorite characters :)
So I just took a look at the video, but I didn't watched it till the end, because I got to bored. Really a bad show. The music at the beginning is from the Warner Bros. looney Tunes, absolutely not Disney. And the music the band plays is boring. The dance of Chip'n'Dale does not suit to the music. And does the show has a story ? I didn't understood it. But anyway this is the only bad show at DLP. How good that there are many other classy shows at DLP to look at.
Quote from: "Disneyana"The music at the beginning is from the Warner Bros. looney Tunes, absolutely not Disney.
I think they probably got that music from one of the US parks, it's on a Disneyland California CD as Toon Town music.
Why didn't they just put Starring Cruella De Vil on Front Lot? That only had 3 performers and no need to design new sets, it would have been so much cheaper!
After watching the video (thanks Raptor!) I think they should have presented Toon Train (wrong name, once again) as streetmosphere, not as a show. Its definately not on par with Starring Cruella. Imagine some toons dancing with kids, some toony music from the animated movies played by the band in the background and a simple Cinefolies kind of storyline and scale would have been better in my opinion... and before I forget; Toon Studio would have been a more fitting location.
By the way, although I think a more toony kind of music would have been more appropriate, I have to say that the music in the background is one of the stronger points of the Toon Train show. I love the jazzy feel. :)
I'm sticking with the thought I had from the moment I saw the show. Replace Chip & Dale and Clarice with Jessica and Roger Rabbit and the show turns out completely different.

Has there ever been a Jessica Rabbit character for the Disney parks?
Watching the video, correct me if I'm wrong but looking at the size of the path, couldn't they fit a float through? That would be much better :!:
I don't like this show. It's dull, and not very entertaining
Maybe it's dull for us adults.
I watched the vidoe with my 8 month old daughter and she had a big smile on her face, when she saw Chip and Dale and heard the music.

I'm not really a adult, I'm just a teenager.

Actually, My littlun enjoyed watching it. :D
What actually crossed my mind is that you stand there Raptor, through these shows, even if you cant stand them, so that we can get some idea what to expect and whether we want to plan these shows into itineraries.
So thank-you very much. Even if I found it a bit annoying, I'll try n plan so that my littlun gets to see it for real.
And now for the least expected news of 2008: It seems Toon Train will return!
I had heard it would just be as a character meet 'n' greet though, not the odd live music/dancing characters event, so we'll see...
http://www.disneylandparis.com/shows_parades/WDS.pdf (http://www.disneylandparis.com/shows_parades/WDS.pdf)
I'm looking forward to seeing it next month.
Toon Train started today on Front Lot.
No dancing, no show - just meet and greets with Chip, Dale, Clarise, Chicken Little, Abby, Lilo and Stitch. Music is taken from loads of sources but mainly the old "Music and the magic" show from Videopolis.
Also Good Morning Walt Disney Studios came back today - using NEW music.... none other than "Remember the Magic" from the 25th Anniversary parade in Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom, its really wierd to hear it in WDS!!
Thanks for the update Poppy!
Remember the Magic? Yuk! I suppose they had to find a replacement since Shooting Live stole the music. Surely there's something a bit more fitting than that though.....
Glad Toon Train is just a character event at least.
Sounds like DLRP is doing some previews for Saturday's Media event.
Wonder if the change in music for Good Morning WDS is because of the Stars and Motorcars Parade coming next year. Shame if so, I was hoping for a brand new soundtrack that parade debuted.
Also good to see the Toon Train sets being put to better use, meet & greet with the characters is a much better idea.
A bit more better but might it be a bit of a copy from Disney's Character Express?
Hey,
Don't post here often, but I was at the park last Wednesday (2nd April) and saw the 'Toon Train' in action...

'Remember The Magic' took me right back to '96 at WDW! I think it works quite well in its new context... :)
