I'm just thinking ahead to outfits, are ski suits a good idea for October for the kids? Or is that overkill?
We will be in the park all day and are staying about 40 mins away (so no popping back to the hotel for warmer outfits) and have minimal luggage on our flights so packing is limited.
Thanks in advance ;D
I was cold in a shirt but ski suits are a bit much! Obviously it depends where your from and how cold you usually get but a snow suit seems a bit much as a lot is inside and your kids are likely to overheat during shows etc. A warm coat will be more than enough.
They will be too hot especially when inside or in queues. We go often in October, January and Easter
Jan..snow suit gloves and hat
Easter..fleece/ hoodie waterproof pacamac and sun lotion!
October..waterproof coat and jumper, leggings ( even the boys) under their jeans. Easy to take off and put in a rucksac if they get too hot. Gloves and hat
last November we were in tee shirts and jumpers till after dreams do I tHink a coat will be fine
Overkill. The weather is way too variable. I have got sunburnt in October at DLP.
Haha, I'm glad I asked now! I shall not bake my kids :-[
I am chuffed about the potential weather though!
Thanks x
Yes it can be nice during the day but when the sun goes down it gets cold, especially if you are standing about for Dreams. As kids lose heat quicker than adults, hats and gloves for night time are essential. Take a wee tube of moisturiser and a chap stick too, being outside all day in the wind can make faces red and sore.
We have used ski suits in the winter with our kids and swear by them. If you do plan to use them I would opt for a two piece set up, this way if it's not cold enough you could just use the jacket. As previously said you might find October too mild for ski suits and a good waterproof ski jacket will be enough. We have been twice in October, one warm and sunny and the other cold( but not cold enough for ski suits). We did find that it turned a lot colder once the sunset.
we are going next week and my girls are using their ski coats with jumpers and tshirts underneath so that they can take off layers if they get too warm. the forecast for us is between 5-9ยบ and rain :'(
Great ideas folks, my smallest son is disabled and feels he cold easily so a pair of salopettes might be good for him with a normal coat and layering on top just in the evenings. We have changed our booking to stay in Chessy now to be closer for clothes changes. Thanks so much, I want to make it as comfortable as possible for them :D
