Title: What happened to the handprints on "Place des Stars"?
Post by: TVTaughtMeHowToFeel on January 09, 2016, 04:15:28 PM
Did they destroy them? Were they able to preserve them? Does it make sense to still call it "Place des Stars"?  :o

They are all gone now. They paved the whole place, with ordinay bricks. So they are not likely to come back anytime soon at this exact spot.  I'm just interested, because they were real handprints by real celebrities :/

Yes, if you watch the 1992 grand opening you can see some of the celebrities doing them, Here's George Lucas's. Hope they haven't been destroyed.

Oh wow that's a shame, we only noticed them for the first time on our last visit (Dec 2014-Jan 2015) and thought they were really cool. Michael J Fox's one said "From the Fox to the Mouse", and Angela Landsbury drew Mrs Potts on hers! I hope they've been saved somewhere... little details like these make Disney feel special, its sad to remove them...
