Title: Compass room
Post by: Sulley15 on January 03, 2016, 05:59:31 PM
Good evening, just a quick question about Newport bay compass rooms.

Are they worth it?
I understand they is a private lounge with drink and snacks between 4 and 6 in the afternoon

Vip fast pass, says it for suites and etc but it shown on the booking page. It's not mentioned anywhere else it's included in the compass room...

The 5 bedroom is £1084 and the compass is at 1366, which isn't bad considering the lounge and American buffet breakfast...

I think it will be comparable with the Golden Forest Club in Sequoia which is

Separate check-in/check-out line.
One fast pass/day/person
Great room with a nice view on the lake
A separate lounge for:
warm buffet breakfast (without having to book a slot up front)
free soft drinks between 12:00 and 22:30
free coffee, thee, cake and biscuits between 16:00 and 18:00
just to sit away from the crowdy and loud bar (with the same menu as the bar both drinks and food)

SOOOO worth it in my opinion!
Just come back -its heaven to have a separate breakfast room and snacks/ drinks were free from 12-10pm. So you only have to buy 1 meal per day. No rush or queues or hassle and separate check in.
It made our holiday :)

Also wondering about the snacks. Is it just the cake and biscuits between 16-18?

Due to health reasons I would be heading back to the hotel around noon, so being able to fill up on some (free) snacks around that time would be great. If I have to wait until 16-18, I'd be better off grabbing something at Earl of Sandwich or McDonalds before going to my room (my body does not appreciate skipped meals).

From the point of view of drinks, it's soft drink and tea & coffee, still working out the snacks.

Anyhow booked next Feb half term for 4 nights....

Is this the Newport Bay equivalent of the Golden Forest Rooms in the Sequoia?

For the dates I'm looking at there's £158 difference over a 4 night stay between Golden Forest and Compass Club so was trying to work out if there was something more in one than other. Thanks.

There was always a difference in prices between SL and NPB, meaning NPB is more expensive.
So now with all the refurbishment and the elegant areas of the Compass CLub (you should look at some fotos, it's great !!! ) I see the basis of this price difference.
