Rumour has it that Animagique may get replaced, and if did, should it be along the lines of 'Mickey and the Wondrous Book' from HKDL or 'Mickey and the Magical Map' from Disneyland? Both are very similar to Animagique, yet use more projection technology etc., to create something quite spectacular.
Or should they just go down a new route all together?
I would love a show like Big Band Beat from TDS.
Animagique WILL be replaced sometime in 2016. That's a fact. Rumour has it that it will be a Pixar related show to fit in the upcoming rededication/renaming of Toon Studios into Pixar Studios. Still, rumours only.
I would love to have Mickey's Philharmagic in Paris.
I would love Philharmagic too :)
Philharmagic - although its not as good as Animagique.
It needs to be something people can sing along to, or at least come out of with the songs running around your head.
Wasn't impressed with "Mickey and the Wondrous Book".
How about Aladdin (from DLR) or Finding Nemo (from WDW)? Probably too expensive to stage those though - and they are language specific.
I've just watched Mickey and the wondrous book on YouTube after a tweet I received & it looks great, I liked the fact it had translation on the side of the stage for when the characters when speaking the native language. This would be a good addition.
I'm sure I read in another thread that when Animagique goes it will be Mickeys Philharmagic taking it's place.
Of course to make it French it would need to be Philharmagique ;D

It is quite something, HKDL must be proud to have it. However it does look on the expensive side for DLRP - the company alone must be 20 or so, let alone the costs of adding all those movable screens.
Still, if they got it, it'd be fantastic - perhaps it'd be better in the Fantasyland Theatre though, rather than in the Studios.

I've not got an issue with Philharmagic per se, but its 12 years old now, shouldn't they have something newer or at the very least have the attraction updated rather than just add it as is?
As far as I know Philharmagique was in discussion but canceled because the Theater would not fit. Anyway, according to ed92 DLP plans to bring a Show to the stage that will be greater than anything they have ever done, more in the vein of wondrous book or magical map, but a completely new Show.
I guess we'll have to wait and see.
^That seems likely. Especially given that Wondrous Book seems to be an evolution of Magical Map, I can see them creating another version for Paris.
Which can only be a good thing.
And on the video from HKDL you can make out a subtitle ribbon screen to the side of the stage, which would fit perfectly with DLRP.
They should do a small version of Beauty & The Beast or Frozen..

There is already a Frozen show and they have already done a BATB show.
I think a Pixar related thing would be great, I love the Disney Pixar films so something along those lines would suit me 😉
Pretty sure with the way studios is going it will be pixar related. I can't see why they would have plans to develop Pixar theming more and then not do a show. Saying that I think studios is so miss matched it could be literally anything!!! Hope they get rid of the aladdin ride as it's just so random - they could easily retheme with fish (Nemo) so it's more relevant to the area.

Ahh right, but Frozen is still popular. They could do a big mashup of all the popular Pixar movies.
And they could do a Toy Story theme show in Toy Story Play-land. :P

I rather like it simply because I love Genie! However yes, retheming it would be better, I don't think Nemo is the way to go though (although I've heard rumours that was the plan) but how about bugs life? Just have the carpets be ladybugs or something. Maybe Incredibles, although I can't think of anything from that movie that'd fit...,Oh! What about the Planes from UP with the dogs in!
I thought Nemo since its near Crush - plus I've seen a lot of non-disney theme parks with the same ride in fish form! I wish there was more theming in Studios. Why the cars ride is opposite Crush with Mickey whacked in the centre for meet and greets I'll never know.

Certainly Toon Studios has nothing on the theming or backstory of Thunder Mesa but the area does make sense if you put thought into it. It is a movie studio for Toon. They come from their homes in toontown through the toontown gates. Genie is there filming far a movie and when you think of all the other rides there as simply sets then it makes a lot more sense and it works for all of them save Crush. Theres no mention of that being in a movie and it doesn't really look like one compared to the cars stuff. The meet and greets are toons on their way to work being mobbed by fans :P

Personally I think because Crush is so huge it even ruins that analogy! The only bit that has the original toon part is the meet and greet. Saying that Studios is my favourite park for rides. I just feel like they haven't been overly creative.

I think they want you to accept that Pixar characters are also toons even though they are 3D, it's a bit of a leap but it doesn't bother me too much honestly. I think the Studios could have been much more creative if they'd had the budget, look what happened when they had more of a budget, TSPL and Place De Remi were made, although not on a huge budget and not under TWDC. I'm interested to see what they do with the place post-25th anniversary!
If they do retheme Tapis Volents as well replace Animagique with characters from the Lamp, they might as well just ditch the Toon Studio name and call it 'Pixar Courtyard' or something.
As suggested in the 'Fixing WDS' thread, what about a Muppets show to replace Animagique? Studio 3 maybe part of Toon Studio now, but its on the edge enough that it doesn't seem that odd a fit.
And while they're at it, theme the spinner next to it into something that Dr. Bunsen Honeydew has created.

I only watched Animagique for the first time this year, and I loved it. Typical that it'll be gone soon. Just my luck ;D

Aww really? How come?
They've had two reasonably successful films and their return to TV is going ok. Plus they need more than just Pixar in the park.

^OK fair enough. Not everyone's cup of tea I guess.
Although I'm against more from the Lamp in WDS for now, what about just replacing Animagique with the 'Pixar Film Festival' that's being added to the Magic Eye Theatre in EPCOT?
QuoteEpcot guests can experience beloved Disney and Pixar animated shorts in a new 4D experience located in Magic Eye Theater in the Imagination Pavilion. "Disney & Pixar Short Film Festival" will include a look into the visionary minds behind some of the world's most iconic animated films today."

I don't think Animagique will be replaced, they added new neon lights and repainting it.

Whilst I love 4D Cinemas, I can't see them introducing another when there's already a 4D Ratatouille ride.
If anything, I can see Disneyland Paris getting rid of the only other 3D/4D attraction Discoveryland Theater (wish it was 'Theatre') and turning it into a stage show.

Animagique, the show, stops on February 2nd.
In July the theatre reopens with a brand-new show.

Well I'd doubt they'd actually convert Studio 3 into a 4D theatre. It'd cost way too much - they'd probably have to dig down a bit to add the mechanisms for the movable seating platform. However there's nothing to say they couldn't just use the same show from EPCOT in its 3D form.
As for the original Cinemagique theatre, there's a good chance that will go if they add Star Wars Land to Discoveryland - if only to somehow expand StarTours. That is unless they have some convoluted way to incorporate a 4D show into the land.

@DLRPWonders
If we (Disney newbies) irritate you so much... Why do you keep giving these rude reactions.
Just shrug your shoulders and count to 10.
Yes - this kind of post may be meant as sarcasm, but just to reiterate - being so curt can also come across as unfriendly and unnecessary. Don't forget, "we were all newbies once..."
I am beginning to wonder, would they introduce the new show but keep Animagique as the attraction name? It's a good name that would be a shame to lose, especially for something as wordy as "Mickey and the Something Something"... They could still give the new show its own title or subtitle within the attraction.
The new show will get a new name.
I'm not allowed to share the new name yet but it will be something "Mickey and the magical map".

I agree, a great attraction name and works in both English and French.
What about "
Animagique II: The Adventures Continue"? Although it could be worse.... "
Animagique: Under New Management". :P

«Mickey et le carte magique»?

I'm sorry..... couldn't resist. ;)
I would certainly miss Animagique as I think it's a wonderful show, but.... I would rather enjoy a muppet show - 4D would be very interesting!
I thought, and admit I maybe totally wrong here, that Animagique was only going to be revamped and a couple of new scenes added? As I say I am happy to accept if I have got this wrong.

Getting rid of Cinemagique would be a mistake. One of the park's many highlights; no replacement would ever be as good.
Update it maybe but they certainly shouldn't replace it.
^Sorry for any confusion there, I was referring to the original Cinemagique theatre in Discoveryland - the one that showed 'Honey I Shrunk the Audience' and 'Captain Eo'. :)
I agree with you though, the attraction 'CineMagique' (in Studio 2) is a WDS classic and needs to stay around for quite some time. Maybe it needs an update, a new scene perhaps but not in the latter part of this decade at least.
Earlier this month, "Ant-Man – a Preview" was running in the venue formerly host to Honey I Shrunk the Audience.
Further update from an interview Daniel Delcourt which he did with fan websites he confirmed Animagiique's name will change, it will no longer be in black light and it won't be set in the pixar universe.
So a few clues from Daniel. I would say considering they have just refurbished the sign then perhaps the signage will stay but the actual show name will be different. 2 new shows in DLP in one year we are being spoilt.
Hold on... have I been living under a rock? They're replacing Animagique? So I won't get to see it in May?
CONFLABBIT. I'm so upset haha I was excited to see that, I missed it out in November in favour of seeing it this year. ::)
