Title: Twas the day before Disney
Post by: RockNRoller on November 09, 2015, 12:56:49 PM
As we go shortly, and I'm really starting to annoy my wife, she set me a challenge. Rewrite "The night before Christmas" for our Disney trip, so I started and then I thought lets use the collective expertise and experience of the forum. I've started, please feel free to add a verse or two:

Twas the day before Disney and all round the house,
Simon was packing to meet Mickey Mouse,
His Trousers and T-Shirts and socks were all there,
And a big woolly hat, as his head had no hair.

A water proof coat to ward of the rain,
And several books to read on the train.
A camera, a tripod and batteries too,
All to film Tigger and Winnie the Pooh,

A big shining castle he was hoping to see,
And Main Street, all fancy, with a huge Christmas tree,
And shops with great windows would make such a sight,
And a show round the castle would finish the night.

A ride on Buzz Lightyear with Lazer to shoot,
A trip with the Pirates and great piles of loot,
Then meet with a Phantom who lives on a Hill,
A ride all in dark that you leave with a chill.

Soon soaring with Peter over old London town,
then becoming a Jedi with both sabre and gown.
A trip to Space Mountain and then Coffee and Cake,
leaving nothing but laughter and smiles in our wake.

I'm not very good at this lol.

He had been dreaming for nights now 'bout soaring the seas,
in Pirates of the Caribbean he felt most at ease.
But flying was also a hobby he liked,
in Dumbo the Elephant he was high as a kite.

Just seeing the Castle made him feel like a boy,
in shops and stores he touched every toy.
When walking around he felt joy and relief,
his wife said that was "something so hard to believe".

From as early as the Extra Magical Hours,
he enjoyed all the rides and admired the flowers.
This whole place was just like a dream that came true,
for him and his family and hopef'lly you too!

Oh, great!

I loove to make rhymes but it's so complicated in a foreign language.

I'll try a little by putting some drama in the happiness  ;D

And when the lights were off and Dreams was on
there came a giant Spanish Apolon,
made big noise, destroyed the view,
trod on the feet of one or two ....  ;D

So at the end of the day, when all's said and done
And your dreams are fulfilled and you've has so much fun
It's time to relax and eat and drink beer
knowing that your bed is cosy and near  ;D

With time in the Studios and time in the park
We've all had such fun, its been a real lark
It's off to the hotel and time for a kip,
To all happy memories and to all a good trip.
