Sooo I turn 21 next March & mum and dad just booked possibly the best gift ever....
WE ARE GOING TO DISNEYLAND PARIS FOR 5 DAYS IN FEBRUARY! ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
We are staying in the Hotel New York BUT they have booked the Empire State Club! I am so so excited, we get to use the VIP Fastpass. Wish the next 130 days would go quickly!
Anyone stayed in the Empire State Club before?
I haven't stayed in the Empire State Club but I did stay at the New York in November last year for my 40th birthday. Make sure you tell them in advance that you will be celebrating and you could get a lovely surprise.
I was given a letter from the hotel management, a beautiful toiletries basket and permission to decorate the room with cards and banners.
When you go to the park go to City Hall and tell them about your celebration and you can get surprises there too! I was given the choice of a free present (I opted for pins) and they can arrange for you to receive a birthday telephone call from a certain Mr Mouse! I was also given a badge and sticker.
Wishing you a fabulous holiday, when it comes, and a very happy 21st!

Ah yay it sounds fun!
Whilst booking over the phone, my dad told the lady and the lady said "I will write down it is Alex's 21st."
Ah seriously?! A free present ?? :o

What does it mean "they gave permission"? Is it forbidden to do whatever you want in the room (of course not destroying stuff? It sounds to me not as a gift.
DisneyGagaChick, you got the best birthday present of all!!! ;D
I merely meant that we asked the reception staff if it was okay to put banners and balloons up (we thought it only polite) rather than just stick blue tack to the wall. They were very supportive and friendly.

Ah, OK then! I just thought if could be some special Disney permission stuff.
I plan to bring 2-3 self made pine cones with red ribbon and a gerland on top of the TV box to decorate the room, but there will be no sticking, we promise. :D

Ah I know, I wasn't expecting the upgrade :o ;D
It is _always_ a good idea to mention it when you are going for a birthday, when I stayed at the Sequoia Lodge for my 30th back in 2010 I had mentioned it on booking as well and I received a beautiful rose (I now have the same kind as a plant, found them in a shop in Antwerp last year) in a pretty vase, a complementary liter bottle of water and a small bottle of champagne. We were also upgraded from a regular room to a lake view room in the main building and got VIP breakfast. So definitely worth mentioning it regardless of which hotel you stay in! :)
Wauw that really is the best birthday gift ever!! Hope you have an amazing time!
May I ask when is the best time to mention a birthday? At check in? I already spoke to a lady on the phone to upgrade my room en told her that it was a surprise birthday trip, but she didn't really respond to that :-[
I emailed for balloons and a card. Didn't get upgraded but we were in DLH and the CC was fully booked anyway.
DisneyGagaChick - if you go to Fantasia Bar I got a free Glowtini - it may have been due to the nice CM but worth a try!

I'm going in February too at the start of the month for my birthday even though my birthday is at the end of February. Should I mention my birthday or is that just pushing my luck?

The Hotel Santa Fe! Myself and my boyfriend are going (to celebrate 5 years together) and the offer we found was too good to pass off... Meaning I finally get my dream holiday and my boyfriend finally gets some peace and quiet from me begging him to let us go hahaha :')
I have never stayed at the Hotel New York but it looks lovely - and the quick walk to the park in the cold February weather will be aa lifesaver!

I'll jump on this to. I'm also going for the first week of Feb 😀 My husband, Son and I have booked SL and staying in one of their Golden Forest rooms, VERY excited. It's their first DLP trip!

We was going to stay in a Golden Forest room, but got intrigued to book the Empire State club instead!
It seems everyone is going in the first week on February! ;)
I'm there 14th - 18th Feb (half term) in the Pink hotel this time. We've done half term twice in the last three years. 1st time was freezing and needed thermals, last time didn't need a coat. Who knows what it will be like - but it'll be Disney so I don't mind :-)

Wow, another member of the 'first week of February club!' - we are like some kind of secret society, haha!
I seriously cannot wait :o
I think it's just luck if you get Pixie Dust or not, I celebrated my 40th in Disney and DH emailed before going to say it was an extra special birthday as I'm a leap year birthday as well and we didn't get anything extra. When I booked our Dec trip the cast member said he was making a note that it's our youngests birthday (hers is the week before we go) and we may get something special but I'm not building my hopes up that we will.
104 sleeps! :-X :o ;D
*bump!*
We have just booked the Buffalo Bill Wild West Show, Cafe Mickey (Birthday cake, of course!) & the airport transfers!
I cannot wait now!!
47 sleeps!! ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
