Hi Everyone! I made a lot of trips to Disneyland but never been there during Halloween. I will be there 5-7 oktober. What can i expect? Lot of Halloween stuff going on? Is there a special parade?
Thanks in advance!
We're going the day you come back and have done Halloween season few times previously :)
There is usually a small Halloween parade, meet and greet some of Disney villans and the park will be dressed appropriately with lots of photo opportunities. It's a great time to visit enjoy!
Halloween is brilliant there. There is a Hallowe'en parade (with the catchiest song ever) and there may even be something with the villains too or something additional, but I'm not sure if that's every day or not. The first year we were there for Hallowe'en there were villains in the castle courtyard for meet and greets, and the same last year too, but last year there was an additional parade with a brilliant float that Maleficent stood on. Also Jack and Sally doing meet and greets too down in Frontierland close to Phantom Manor. Brilliant decorations everywhere. Its just a lovely time to be there. ;D
Is there a Halloween party? I've seen a few people mention this and dressing up.
Yes there is-ticket only in advance-the only time you can dress up as a Disney character, I believe-no prizes for guessing my outfit!! It's the best time in my opinion.
Me and my family are flying out to Disneyland Paris on Halloween morning!! Can't wait until the evening party! Disney emailed me though saying I wasn't allowed to dress as a Disney character yet the rules say you can as long as you don't pose or sign autographs!

Ahhh sounds fabulous. How d you purchase these tickets?
You can buy them online on the disneyland website.
Don't forget the thorns at the rear of the castle. The sword has been replaced by a thorny dragon

Last year there was a villains meet and greet
The sword is still gone? Didnt someone say a while ago that it had been pulled out and was missing. Surely it wasnt removed really early for halloween?
Does anybody have any idea as to what rides are opened that night? My family and I have tickets and noticed on the tickets it said 5pm on them. I thought the party started at 8:30??
when we went last year the part started at 8pm or 8.30pm, you have a additional ticket for the party, which allows you in to the park for it.
they closed the park early that day to prep for the party - if my memory serves me correct (i cant quite remember since our daughter was only 5 we had her back at the hotel for a nap then.)
most of the rides were open that night :)

Brilliant :) we arrive in Paris at 10:30 am so we will probably go for a wander, get lunch, check in then NAP for us all because we will be up at 4 am to travel over haha
Cant wait to go on the rides at night and see all the fabulous costumes!

Ehm, they don't close the park.
Guests who don't have a ticket for the evening have to leave at 7pm.
But they don't actually close the park for anything.
They just start checking very firmly from 7pm on, if you have your wristlet.
No wristlet is escorted to the exit.
They check every inch of the park, so it's in no way possible to hide yourself and stay without a ticket.
The entertainment starts at 8.30pm, but your Soirée ticket allows you to enter the park from 5pm.
So people that arrive that day, and for that day only have a Soirée ticket and no regular ticket, can't get into the park before 5pm.
Definitely not all rides are open. And the ones that are open have massive queues.
Queues with waiting times up until 3-4 hours (!) really aren't that strange for the Soirée.
The Soirée really isn't an evening for rides, it's an evening for the atmosphere and special entertainment.
I don't even understand why you would spend 42€ extra for that night, just to go on BTM which you can do any time.
as i said i wasn't sure if the park closed or not, as we weren't in there, but i knew the actual even didn't start till 8 or so.
However, i do know last year there were lots of rides open, most of them in fantasy land, peter pan, small world etc were all open. Space Mountain was open, big Thunder Mountain, Phantom manor, Pirates etc were all open, and there was lost of extra shows, Minnie's pirate show was a great one for us given our daughters age. As for ride times, i can categorically say - and i can only go from our personal experience - we had no long waiting times for rides, the max was phantom manor which was 1 hour, we walked onto small world twice in a row with our little one.
there was loads of Villains around too, we have pictures with plenty of them :) they were all around the circle of thorns in fantasy land and it was great timing for us.
you will have a ball :)
as i said all the above was only my personal experience and opinion, so maybe others have gone and haven't been as lucky.

WOW sounds like you have had a brilliant time!! My family cant wait to go! The two main rides we want to go on during the halloween night are Pirates of the caribbean and Phantom manner.
When you went did you see lots of guests dressed up? :)
I agree with Karen101 100%! That is definitely how we have always found Halloween Soiree, it is an amazing night you will LOVE it!! I think probably 95% of the people attending the soiree were dressed up, the atmosphere is unbelievable. So jealous, I am seriously upset we can't go this year!
it was fantastic :) so atmospheric we loved it :) i would go again this year if i could but sadly have other commitments and wont be back in Disney till July next year :)
i would agree with twentythingamabobs i would say about 90 to 95 % of people were dressed up in some shape or form :) some of the costumes were fantastic and the kids all looked fabby :)

If anyone went during Halloween last year - did you see Stitch / Angel? and if so where (I know every post on here is about finding Angel but I'm desperate! ;D )
Stitch had an meet and greet point with minnie on mainstreet (near the entrance). I have only seen Angel during the halloween party as a DJ in discoveryland. I can't remember her doing meet and greets.
Thanks Cheshire Cat - It does hint on the website stitch is doing a meet and greet in the morning. If it's with Minnie that would be amazing!!! Think this has to be the most impromptu trip ever... booking Monday to go on the 12th October.
Does Goofy still give out sweets ? My kids loved this

It's not with Minnie.
Stitch does meets in the morning and Minnie in the afternoon.
He's in this costume (my own photo from last year):

He does sometimes. Last year they definitely didnt hand out as much candy as earlier years.
Thanks DLRPWonders - Stitch looks so adorable. Every holiday it's my goal to have a photo with him and I've never failed yet. Despite the fact in June I nearly had a breakdown on the last day during Stars in Cars when they changed the car formation round!
Can't believe Goofy hands out sweets - such a dilemma as I am mentally scarred from childhood of Goofy himself, but I do love a free sweet ;D
And still news on the revival of Terrorific Night for this year's Halloween at the Walt Disney Studios?

Yes, that news broke a long time ago.
There is no Terrorific Night, nor will it ever return.
