Title: Sponsering AP
Post by: Bear84 on September 10, 2015, 07:14:30 PM
I've seen lots of mention about people sponsoring others for AP's and wondered if you needed a certain AP to do this or can it be any of the 3 they do?

Anyone can sponsor but you must have paid for your annual passport and have had the plastic card for at least a full month.

Ive never sponsored before and wondered what the success rate is. By that i mean how many people wait for either their sponsor or vice versa and they dont turn up. Time is always precious in the park and i would worry that it might not be worth it. Can anyone shed a light?

It'd be a bit rude to just not show up, wouldn't it?

Yes it would. However it doesnt mean that just because i have manners that other people do also. You just need to look at the posts on here to see that most complaints are about the selfish or rude behaviour of others! I dont want to make plans that take time out  of my day if i get stood up. I was merely asking for feedback from others who have successfully ( or not) sponsored another person. Do you have feedback to give of your personal experience of sponsoring or being sponsored?

We sponsored people for the first time this year. All nine people (Different parties, different days), turned up as arranged.

The people being sponsored are getting 10% discount, so its in their interest too.

At one point, we were short of a sponsor. We asked someone waiting in line if we could sponsor them. They obviously knew we would get a free pass as they wanted 50 Euros from us before they would let us sponsor them! We declined and sponsored someone else who was very grateful.

Thanks for that. Putting trust in a complete stranger to turn up might not always work out so i am pleased to hear that it did for you.  Hopefully i will have the same experience. :)

It's a violation of the terms and conditions that you signed when you took out your passport to solicit people for sponsorship, just so you know.

I was sponsored earlier this year and met my sponsor without a hitch. We did have to wait nearly an hour at the BPA though :/
