Title: Can you explain characters during the extra magic hours?
Post by: Wonderland.teacup on August 18, 2015, 03:38:21 PM
How does it work. I loved when they were at the hotels. Do they have the characters in one area in the park? Do they randomly walk around?

The VIPs are normally spread along Main Street, it's normally;

Mickey and Minnie at the boarding house
Pluto by the parade gates or Gazebo if Donald isn't out
Donald by the gazebo
Chip and Dale by Caseys Corner or Plaza Gardens

Goofy sometimes pops up either with Pluto or by the shops, in my two trips its varied, on my first trip I had Goofy, the mice, chipmunks and  Pluto whereas in my recent trip I only had Mickey, Minnie, Donald and Pluto.

Are the lines really long then?? I just cant imagine all the people from the hotel waiting in lines to meet a handful of characters.

It depends from nobody cared about the characters up to 1h+ lines I have seen everything during our last trips.

I think I waited 15 minutes for Goofy in the March school holidays? Donald was at about a 40 min queue in August however

Mitchell's description of locations is spot on for the last 10 days.

Queue length depends on how early you get in the park. If you're in the queue at around 8 am, you will wait maybe 10 minutes. If you're there at 9.30, you may wait an hour.

Most people doing Magic Hours go straight to the rides.

Only sometimes mind, because sometimes they make the general public wait 'till at least 10am.
When I was there last October we weren't let in 'till 10.15

It depends, only one park is open for EMH, and usually that's Disneyland Parc, rather than WDSP.
If WDSP is open for EMH then yes, I imagine you'll find characters in that park during EMH. ;D
