Hello there, I had planned to travel by car with 4 of us in October but am now thinking it may be around same cost to go on Eurostar..
I have priced it up direct from St Pancras to Marne-la-Vallée/Chessy with a stop at Lille [ total travel 3 hours 4 minutes] for £353. Has anyone who has driven got any ball park costs for petrol & tolls, think the EuroTunnel comes in at £118?
Will cost me around £40 petrol to get to Folkstone, so thats £158 before I hit France, any ideas?
Thanks
Hi, We always drive from Liverpool about 3 times a year, on average around £350.00 with all charges Tunnel, petrol and tolls. As a family of 4 its great because you can pack whatever you want. Hope this helps. Andlorna
Petrol and toll from the Calais area to Disneyland will be about £40 - £45 one way.
EuroTunnel fares start at £46 if you book far enough in advance depending on the length of stay.
We travel from the north east & we normally work on £250 return plus €21 each way for toll. Petrol has been cheaper in France for us. Depending when you book the tunnel it can work out cheaper if deals are on, also it can depend on how many days you are going for, up to 5 days you can get a saver ticket, and the time trains you want. We usually get the train between 6-8am & 8-10pm as these are often cheaper. As Andlorna says it great for families being able to pack what you want & do what you want.
I would love to go by Eurostar but it is pricey for us & feel we are restricted plus the cost of getting to at least Ashford for us & then back again.
We've thought about going by Eurostar, but with the added cost of getting to/from the station, we think driving is cheaper and more convenient (in a way).
