Only 100 sleeps to go before heading off for a four night stay!!!! I'd love to know any tips for travelling that time off year . Who else will be visiting during the Halloween season :D
I'm not this year :( but i've been at Halloween twice and I love it! It's chilly though :D
Thanks for the tip I plan to layer up :)
As every year I will be there!
I'm at Disneyland Paris for Halloween twice this year:
* October 10 & 11
* October 28 until November 2
Our first Halloween there / so excited!!! We'll cross paths as I'm there from 27th to 1st ;D
Flying from scotland on the 31st October :) can't wait for the halloween party! Got me costume all sorted :)
We are going on 28th to the 1st and doing the soirée. Can't wait as the last time we did it was 10yrs ago and hubby proposed. The girls and me have our costumes already, Hubby knows what he wants and will be ordering it soon.
I so wish I was going this year :( I'm so jealous, but I've been the past 2 hallowe'ens so really need to save for a while ;D

Ahoy :) what are your family going as? This is my wife and kids first halloween and would love to say hi to fellow members of the forum!!
We're there 26th-30th October
Awesome! This will be our first time dressing up! Are the costumes that the guests wear good??
It's much like any convention when it comes to costumes.
Some costumes will be amazing, others will be really good/nice and some will be "omg why are you wearing that aweful thing" rubbish.
But hey, it doesn't matter what others think of a person's costume, it's the wearer that needs to like it, and as long as they do, its all good :)

my hubby went one year to one of the not so scary halloween party's that they had and he went as jack , not the best costume one i made myself even had my uggs on haha ,think looking at your small pic there yours looks like it is a detailed costume , you will have to post a full pic , but captain jack loved it pulled him out of the crowed and got him to pose in captain jack poses with him , it was fun and my hubby was so embarrassed , i was maleficent and i saw lots of other people dressed as disney characters ....
think the thing is that you dont portray to be that character , safety for children that could wander off with a character that really isnt one...
we went last july ,i put some photos on a trip report , and we were only disney bounding but got people stoping us and asking for photos even though we were not really dressed up
cant wait to go back for Halloween we are going the end of September and there till 3rd of October. First time getting annual passes and staying off site so this will be a completely different trip this time. None the less its yesterday 8 weeks :P :P :P

Wow that sounds brilliant!! Always great to hear of another Jack!! I saw posters stating not to act in character or pose for pics ( which I would never ever do there), I saw pics of some immense
Jack and Sally's who looked better than the cast members haha
This is my costume attached so if you see me
With a wench wife, an undead Elsa (daughter) and a young Jack Skellington then please say hi! We are flying from scotland on Halloween morning :)

Hiya :) thanks!
I wasn't at MCM this year but quite a few jacks were haha I only hit the cons up in scotland! It's quite a competitive game this sparrow malarky haha! Please say hi if you and your family spot me and my family in the park! :D
@CaptainKennySparrow, the years I did the soirée Halloween I didn't, but I saw photos from a girl who went last year, and her Snow White costume was so spot on that initially I didn't even realise it was her and not an official character.
So obviously you can get in with a _really_ realistic costume, but I wouldn't advise it, because it'll entirely depend on who's at the entrance whether you get in or not.
Personally I always liked to do Disneybound outfits, but slightly more over the top, because that would always be ok. And it would give me the freedom to move to comfortably do rides :)
I saw some girls with HUGE hoop skirted historical dresses one Soirée, and whilst they looked amazing, they couldn't even sit down. I can't imagine that was much fun XD
We have been to the party last year and all the three of us were dressed as disney characters (Rapunzel, mother Gothel and Zarina from Tinkerbell and the pirate fairy). We had no problems getting inside with the costumes. A CM stopped us in front of the entrance and complimented our costumes and asked us not to pose for pictures with other guests or sign autographs. But as long as you stick to these rules you should be alright.
Btw your Sparrow costume is amazing. You have the perfect face for the Captain!
@HildeKitten Thanks for the advice :) Ive been trying to find any photographs from last year to see some people dressed up but cant find any haha, I think I'm worrying a wee bit too much about it, mainly because I know my little girl who is pirating up with me would be devistated if we got knocked back. Good thing I have written confirmation from the managers are disney allowing me to dress up , so I can present that should there be any issues!
@Cheshire_Cat01 your costumes sound epic! do you have any pictures of them? It sounds like as long as you stick to the rules then there shouldnt be a problem. I would love to get a picture with the french Jack haha and see what hes like! Ill probably lay my scottish accent on thick when im there so they know Im not Jack! (I can do the voice due to being employed as a lookalike but would mega tone it down for that night haha) Does it get quite busy at night?? Also we havent got a clue as to what time you are allowed to enter the park dressed up, I think the Halloween party starts at half 8 but I'm not sure if youre allowed in before hand to enjoy some of the rides? Sorry for all the questions hahaha
I have seen many guests with great disney costumes so I wouldn't worry too much.
The only thing i would recommend is not to go there to early. With a ticket to the party you are allowed to enter the park from 4pm but I think they won't let you in with a costume at that time.
Of course I have pictures of our costumes.
It was quite busy last year but I expected it to be worse because the party was sold out. If you want a picture with a character you will have to wait for a while but there are plenty of events so the guests split up a bit.

@cheshire_cat01 those costumes are fantastic! We were thinking of going there for about 7 ish? What would you recommend :),
Btw how were the other guests in the park with your costumes?? Are they as friendly as the Americans hah
Thank you.
All the other guests we talked to were really nice. Many guests asked for pictures. Some of them were a bit disappointed that we weren't allowed to take pictures with them but all in all they were understanding. Unfortunately I have never been to Disneyworld so I don't know how the Americans behave ;-) But in general Halloween isn't celebrated that much in France just like here in Germany. Perhaps in America more people dress up or put more effort into their costumes. But that is just my assumption.
I met some other Rapunzels and even a Flynn that was really fun. Even though my french is not very good :P
This year we will be there as Aurora and the pink and blue fairy. I have already started on our costumes 8)
I think 7pm is a good time to arrive. I guess we will be there about 6 pm like last year.

Funny you saying that I read that the french weren't introduced to halloween until something ridiculous like the 80s!! Don't know if it's accurate!! I will Be looking out for you guys for pics! We arrive in Paris at half 10 from flying at half 7 so think an afternoon nap and rum will wake me up haha! We are so excited to go! Just hope rides aren't closed when we are there!!
@ ilovemainstxxx: We will take some pictures for you :)
@ CaptainKennySparrow: I will keep my eyes open for Jack Sparrow.
I don't know yet when we will arrive. We'll get there by car on the 31st.
hi again CaptainKennySparrow

Wow! Those photos to me looks like the real deal or near enough to it! I look forward to your trip reports guys about the party enjoy ;D
Ha - how cool to be married to Captain Jack even if just for Halloween ;) :-*
Reading these posts is making me so envious (in the nicest way of course) lol.
Halloween is, in my opinion, the best season at DLP. The whole park looks great, villains everywhere, Jack & Sally, sweets from Goofy..... it is fantastic!
I'm already starting to think about my next trip - I'm hoping Halloween 2017 (giving next year a miss due to the extensive work taking place). I hope to return to either the Sequoia or maybe one of the new renovated rooms at the Newport. Sadly Halloween 2017 seems an awful long way off at the moment.
Oh well, to everyone going over the Halloween period hope you all love it!

I feel exactly the same way- so jealous :-) my cousin & his girlfriend are going in 2 weeks so ive told them want trip report & pics. I've never been to DLP for Halloween, its the only season we havent, so we've been looking to go in 2017, been seeing what prices are like for Halloween 2016 so can have an idea how expensive it is going to be for the time we want to go.
Halloween is, in my opinion, by far the best season.
Everything about it is just simply perfect.
I'm going next weekend for 9 days.
This will be my 19th Halloween season and 8th Halloween Soirée.
Can't wait to meet the villains again and watch the cavalcade 3 times a day.
Only said that Sally unfortunately isn't out anymore :(

This will be my first one :) my family and I fly out on Halloween! Is there a certain time you can enter the park dressed up before the halloween party starts? Also how do they know who is meant to be staying for the party? do they give you wristbands or anything?
Oh, DLRPWonders, I am happy for you! So many visits! And now - 9 days - it will be such fun!

I got that nickname for a reason :P
Definitely looking forward to it, one more week to go!

Exciting! I'm sure you'll love it!
Officially you can enter the park in costume from 5pm.
With your Soiree ticket you can get a wristlet for the evening.
They hand out wristlets underneath the Main Street Railroad.
Just follow the signs, which are always up everywhere.
You can get your wristlet from 8am already.
After 7pm they will start checking wristlets.
Having just arrived back - I must say the theming is fantastic and all the characters had sweets to give out. There were also a lot more characters lurking about than in the Summer. Maybe its due to all the refurbishments but either way it was great.
My wife and I will be there from the 29th to the 2nd,going to the soiree on Halloween night. Does anyone know what rides and restaurants will be open during the party? We're hoping to at least ride Phantom Manor at midnight. :o ;)

Phantom Manner will be open on the halloween night :) my family and i only want to ride that and POTC that night as we can leave the rest of the rides to the next day! If you see a jack sparrow walking about with his family say hi as that will be me :)
Just came back from three days DLP to see the Halloween decorations and it looks amazing. Loads of entertainment and characters. Pictures are being uploaded and a trip report is in the making.
Ohhhh cant wait to see :) we go on monday and im so excited!

Excellent! I was hoping Pirates would be open, too. Keep an eye out for a tall Captain Hook with an Ursula, me hearty.
Most rides will be open during the Soirée.
However please keep in mind that 3-4 hour queues are pretty normal for that evening.
The Soirée really isn't an evening for rides, it's an evening for entertainment and to enjoy the atmosphere.

Brilliant! you need to post a pic so I recognise you :)
As DLRPWonders says, it is a great night to enjoy the atmosphere. Ive told the kids not to be too sad if we dont get on much as we are hitting the magic kingdom the next day. I wouldnt want to que 3 hours for POTC and miss things but part of me really wants to get some pics in the que of it with the pirate scenery haha
If you like a dance there was a disco by Star Tours last year, it was brilliant. We spent ages there bopping away with the kids ;D
I know it is kind of hopeless but I am looking for one or two tickets for the Halloween Party. Does anyone sell his tickets or know where we can still purchase tickets?
My friend booked a trip to disneyland online via a tour operator. This offer included the ticktes for the Party but unfortunately the tour operator canceled the Party tickets yesterday. I guess he just forgot to buy the tickets in time.
Two of my friends and me bought the tickets on the disneyland website so we have three tickets for the party. But it would be really sad (and kind of mean) if we had to leave our friend and her daughter alone while we go to the party...
