Hi All, after some advice.
We very rarely fly and never shop in airports, but going to DLP end of March and could do with some perfume. My question is, is there mush difference in price between Manchester & CDG?
With the exchange rate being good at the moment I wondered if it would work out cheaper to buy in Euro's?
Thanks +
Anyone feel free to correct me, but its not strictly "Duty Free" as you only get duty free if you are travelling outside Europe - this is certainly the case when travelling to France by ferry.
Prices may (or may not) be cheaper because you would be paying French duty rather than UK duty.
I don't know about perfume, but beer and wine on board ferries is often more expensive than large supermarket chains. Cigarettes are usually cheaper because the French have a lower duty on tobacco products.
As the Euro is so good at the moment, then you would be getting more value for your money.
You can tell how much we travel! Didnt really understand duty free :-[
Probably due to the good rate ill buy in paris
thanks
Haha it's fine, I work on a travel money bureau! Atm it's around 1.32. so think of it as every £100 is 132 euros for you. So you can buy more for your money in France atm than you would be able to over here :) it's always the same for the USA, which is why people like to do a lot of shopping over there.
