Hi folks,
I'm thinking of potentially taking my nieces with us the next time we go to DLP, or my Nan and Mother in Law. That means there will either be 2 adults and 4 children (ages 5-11), or 4 adults and 2 children. I know there are doubtfully any rooms that cater for these numbers, are there ways around this? Do any hotels offer adjoining rooms? Is there a way of doing it that doesn't maximise costs?
Thanks in advance for any advice :D xx
Depends if you are driving yourself, Davy Crockett would likely be able to cater for that kind of group size in one 'lodge', so the cost is a little cheaper.
The Santa Fe has family rooms for up to 6, but I'm not sure how comfortable they are with 4 adults and 2 children http://www.disneylandparis.co.uk/hotels/disneys-hotel-santa-fe/rates-rooms/ - other hotels do have adjoining rooms, but I think (though I could be wrong) that you'd need to call rather than use the website
Santa Fe and Newport any club do family rooms, they work out more expensive than having 2 separate rooms though! Just priced up for our friends for Christmas, their kids are 5,10 & 13. Two rooms in Newport Bay worked out £1449, a family room was £1800 and Davy Crocket was £873 which is obviously a big price difference. The family room wasn't on the 2 days and 2 days free deal x
Last year I stayed in a family room at the Santa fe with my four children . It worked out cheaper than having two rooms .
In 2013 we stayed in the adagio with my mum and dad . It caters for up to 8 people and is an aparthotel so might solve your problem x
We are family of six. We booked a familyroom at NewPort bay. They were large and fine. The family rooms at Santa Fe never seem to be available. Once we booked two rooms at the Disneyland hotel. With connecting Doors. This year we booked Davy Crockett.
Problem is that connecting doors cannot be confirmed and we do not want to run the risk that we are miles apart in a hotel. Not nice for a family with four children between 5 and 12.
If you can drive, I'd recommend DC every time, it's great being able to have kids in one room and adults in another! Also the little kitchenette is very handy, and the site itself is great, barring that, we got 2 connecting rooms at the santa fe, which was allot cheaper than doing the one big family room, as the large family rooms are never available under offer, so often end up costing an awful lot more!
I'd second Davy Crockett. Like Center Parcs one very quick junction down the motorway from Disneyland!
Thanks guys :D I knew you'd have some sage advice ;D xx
We've booked a family room at Newport Bay in December, it was definitely cheaper than getting two rooms but we booked within hours of the dates being released so I guess the price depends on how many rooms they have left. We did get the two nights free deal. For us all our 3 kids are under 7 so I wouldn't want them in their own room yet, and being December we wanted to be on site so that we could come back to the hotel if the weather was bad during the day. In summer I'd be very tempted by Davy Crockett both for price, and being somewhere with more outside space etc.
You will probably have to book the family rooms over the phone but I just hit the call back button so I didn't have to pay for the call, and also if you book over the phone you just pay the deposit up front, I'm not sure if you can do that on the website.
On our first visit we had a suite in the Explorers which had a double bed, bunk beds, a sofa bed and two bathrooms, that would do the trick for you! :D
Have you considered booking one of the local, off-site aparthotels room-only and buying Annual Passports?
Sejours et Affaires, Adagio, etc. have rooms for up to 8 people (or maybe more?), are far cheaper than the Disney hotels.
The Fantasy passes are currently £125 each, give you EMH access (like when you stay at the Disney hotels) and also 10% discount in the shops and restaurants (table service).
Worth a thought...
Oooh that is worth a thought! I'll have a chat with the family and see what we think, thanks again folks! ;D xxx
If you're buying APs for the children, there are a couple of UK websites selling them for around £80. You can't buy children's passes at the park, so that would mean buying them adult passes at around £125 / £160.
Have a look at the explorers hotel, we stayed there years ago and had a double bed and two singles in one large room and then bunk beds in an adjoining room. It was really good there and the kids loved it. It's fairly near the park via a bus but good for larger families
Thats brilliant, thanks again folks! :D xx
