Manhattan is frequently used as an overflow for Parkside Diner (which is apparently quite a busy place), had the same issue when I was there last September.
Tried making a reservation then, and was told that Manhattan was closed for the duration of my stay.

Parkside Diner is busy because it's small!

Hopefully that's something they can fix in the refurb then. :) Because if they're regularly closing Manhattan to accommodate more guests for Parkside then it's time that Parkside got expanded so that their fancy restaurant can also stay open.

Ah I didn't know that. On our last visit, we ate in Manhattan, it was booked well in advance but I thought it would be open all the time. Food was lovely there too, ah well, we're going to inventions instead!!  :D
