hi there, does anybody know what they did with the menu at restaurant auberge de cendrillon i have heart that it changed in a other concept table service and a menu that costs 48 euro and some caracters will be there during dinner{sorry for my bad english i m from the netherlands so  }and what s on the menu?
:pluto: Last time we went in February (and it's been the same every time we've been in), it was a buffet, all you can eat starter, a menu for the main course and buffet, all you can eat desserts.
:pluto: Just rang reservations and they have confirmed that the meals are now full table service. the buffet has gone and the new price is €48 for adults and €20 for children which includes a drink.
I'm trying to make sense of the Half Board and Half Board Plus. :? :mickey2:
You can eat at Auberge De Cendrillon and other restaurants (Lucky Nuggets on there too) if you book Half Board Plus.....
It works out at about 25 Euros per adult and 11 Euros per child. Can this be right?
I t looks too good to be true!
Or does anybody know if its a set menu or a set time if you have booked Half Board, or Half Board Plus. :?
I cant believe you can have a meal at Auberge De Cendrillon for this price or eat at the Lucky Nugget with characters wandering around. Although I am not complaining if its true! :D
And Belle. Your English is very good. I try to speak French, but French people take pity on me and speak English  When we last stayed in Sequoia, I tried my French when we booked in, I couldnt think of a word in French and used German instead.... The young lad behind the counter was very patient, but we reverted to English. And what was really embaressing? He was Spanish.
It is true. We booked the half board plus a couple of weeks ago and ate in the Lucky Nugget Saloon.
Also used the vouchers in the Steak House in Disney Village. If I had had the 3 course meal and paid for it, it would of come to twice the cost of the voucher!
Its a really good idea, and if you have kids, even better, because you get to have a quality meal, with great options for them
The half board plus gives you a set menu (3 starters, 3 main and 3 dessert) if its an a la catre menu such as The Steak House, and the same offer as all guests in the buffett restaurants.
The set menu's are fantastic value. I had Chicken Caeser Salad as a starter, Fillet steak main and Bailey's & Pistachio Creme Brulee as a dessert in The Steak House. Because of the price point in the restaurant, I was expecting a very small portion, but was wrong!
Thanks for that Penfold. I'm working on a bit of a tight budget, so was looking at doing the half board plus. Then any money we take to DLRP is ours to spend and not worry about meals.
Lucky Nugget, Auberge and Steakhouse are on our list.
Things are looking good! :D
Please say this is not true or I only got it wrong :(
We planned to have dinner for the first time at the Auberge de Cendrillon in September 2007. We never ate at a higher budget-restaurant and so I chose the Auberge, coz I've seen on dlrpfoodguide.com they'd have a buffet for 22 Euros there, even a vegetarian dish.
Did I get it right that this choice is now not longer available at this restaurant??? And that you have to pay 48 Euros for the menu??
This would be so mean and bad of DLRP coz they'd ignore people with not that much money who like to eat only one time at a higher class restaurant
I dunno Nala.
But are you staying in a hotel? m'be you can do the half board plus which would mean you will be able to eat for that price...
We're working on a budget too, thats why we've gone for the half board plan.
Hopefully someone will be able to help you
We're going in July and I was wondering about the half board plus vouchers. Do you have to pay extra to eat in some of the restaurants ( like cafe mickey and walts?) I didn't rerally understand what it meant from my brochure....
And does anyone know how much choice there is from the menus? My husband was worried it would be a set menu with just a couple of choices?
I'm keen on saving money 'cos that means more to spend on Disney stuff. :)
Hiya Suzy.
I'm gonna ask the question...
Anyone going, if you're anywhere near Auberge can you find out if there is a set menu and get a copy, or photo of it!! How cheeky!
I really do hope it is true that table service is returning to the Auberge. Now if we can get rid of the stupid buffet at Hunter's Grill and Parkside Diner, and I will be a happy man!!!
Please open a new topic to discuss the half board meals. Let's keep this topic about the new Auberge de Cendrillon menu.
So here's the deal:
Suzy and Perla (the 2 mice from Cinderella) welcome guests at l'Auberge. Other Royal Couples will make an appearance as well, like Phillip & Aurora, Prince Charming & Cinderella, Belle & the Beast or Royal Mickey & Minnie (//http://www.photosmagiques.com/gallery/mickeymouse/Dsc08424). During the royal's visit, l'Auberge will be filled with music and dance, even the smaller kids can have a dance with one of the characters.
Here's a rough translation from the French menu (forgive me for any mistakes)
The adult menu:
Entrée:
Foie Gras
Main Menu:
- Pike Filet, "forgotten" vegetables, gratin or
- 4 Cheeses Tortellini
Desert:
Cinderella's Slipper
---
Coffee, Wines, Water
This sounds great!!!! I think we may give this a whirl!
Wow Cinderellas Slipper is in the menu:) that´great!
It is now something like a charakter diner?
yeah we will eat there on our next vist , never bothered before but it sounds great :ears:
thanks for the info. :D ,and maybe if someone is going to auberge make a picture of the menu and put it on the forum that would be very nice!
belle
And this is it now - forever?? For 48 Euros? Or will there also be the old menue after the celebration?! I'm really getting angry about this :x
Sorry Raptor  Have opened post in the Resort.
Menu looks great.
I was wondering about the Cinderella dessert. I've heard so much about it. I've tried to have one before but they have always run out. M'be they'll stock up for the 15th celebrations. Hope I can persuade hubby to eat there so I can have one! :)
We had lunch at l'Auberge for my birthday (yesterday).
The menu includes a cocktail to start (with alcohol or without), a starter, main dish and desert and includes wine, water and coffee afterwards.
If you're a vegetarian, you have to request a non-meat starter, as its not listed on the menu (it's the same starter as the kids menu: mozzarellas & tomatoes with lettuce and a cucumber sauce). The main vegetarian dish are 4 cheeses tortellini's & vegetables and the desert of course the Cinderella slipper.
The setting is also quite unique. There are always characters present. Our table got visits by: Suzy & Perla, Cinderella, Fairy Godmother, Belle & Beast Prince and Ariel & Prince Eric.
Can you also pay with halfboard mealplan tickets there? of just with me halfboard plus? Cause I just have halfboard and not the plus but is sounds interesting to me.
I know for a fact that you can upgrade the halfboard options at Cafe Mickey, Blue Lagoon and Walt's
also there are some other restaurants wich will take the halfboard tickets for money and you have to pay the extra...
It was your birthday yesterday, Raptor? So a late "Happy Birthday" :)
Thank you for also listing the Vegetarian choices! So is this a unique price of 48 Euros?? Or is there still the chance not to choose the menue?
Pic of the menu board outside ADC
(//http://www.alittlepatchofdisney.co.uk/ADC_Menu.jpg)
looks nice was the service and the meal worth 48 euros????
I'm asking myself the same...
My little 4 year old girl is completely into 'the princes and princesses' right now, I just hope she likes the food at Auberge de Cendrillon because she's a picky eater...
What should I do?
Go to 'Café Mickey' (was a great succes last year), Auberge de Cendrillon or Inventions?????
I had just contacted the travel agency and made my halfboard option a half board plus option so I can eat among the princesses and the mice :) :)
The only thing I still do not understand is why they advertise with the meal plans and say it is 15% cheaper and than they are 50% cheaper. I only pay 24 euro for the half board plus option and not 48 euro like the menu says.
I geuss reservations would be come in quite handy in that restaurant. I am thinking about giving them a call so I can eat there at the night we arrive (and now I am only hoping the kid is not going to cry when he sees the characters, like last time... )
i know, wrong topic but Happy Birthday Raptor :D/
Have you seen the nice pics on photomagique of this event? :D
//http://www.photosmagiques.com/gallery/trip_8_april_07/DSC08855
I just wondered why when you go on the Disneyland Paris website under Character Dining this restaurant is not listed? I had never heard of it until now and it sound great. It sounds the best kept secret in DLRP. shhhh :minnie:
Well this concept only started a few weeks ago. They probably "forgot" to update the website.
QuoteHave you seen the nice pics on photomagique of this event?
Thanks :D

I've booked the half board plus, even though I'm not
entirely sure how it works, and like you, I think it does seem to be too good to be true at some restaurants. When I booked (direct with DLP) I asked if we had to choose from set menus, and was told no. Surely that can't be right at this restaurant?? As you say, it's a huge saving.
When are you going? I'm not going until 15th July so I guess we'll have to wait for someone to go and report back. :)
We booked the halfboard option, too. :D
I also wonder, if it is possible to have a character diner at Lucky Nugget with the vouchers? :?
We are going at the beginning of june.
I hope, that someone is going earlier and can report something about it
that makes it clearer.
Otherwise I can tell you on the 10th of june... :D
Quote from: "Simi-Maus"Otherwise I can tell you on the 10th of june... :D
Well, that's before I go, so it's great for me. :D
I am going to first of July till the 6th of July so I just come back before you go... At the travel agency they did not know anything about it (but well that was no suprise for me since I have told them several things before). I read somewhere on the forum you can have the diner in the lucky nugget saloon with the vouchers. I still haven't heard anyone telling me it can be done in the auberge de cendrilon to. So I am keeping my ears open and I geuss I will be waiting also till the 10th of June...

QuoteWe were there two weeks ago, and used the half board plus.
We dined at The Staek House, where it was a seperate menu, made up fo items off the main menu, but limited to a choice of 3 starter, 3 main and 3 dessert.
Next Day we dined at Beaver Creek, this was a 3 course buffet so it was eat as much as you like.
The final day we dined in the Lucky Nugget, and used the vouchers. This was a buffett, with the characters.

Looks like Penfold had a meal on half board with characters. I'm hoping we get to do it in October.

The Auberge is one of the restaurants that is quoted by Disney themselves as being one of the 14 restaurants you can eat in. That's why I was surprised, as it's rather expensive. It says for the Blue Lagoon that you have to use the vouchers at face value (and pay the balance presumably). Maybe the Auberge is Disney's little gift to us?
Knowing my luck they'll swap Auberge for a different restaurant before I go!
I have just phoned Reservations and you actually have to use 2 of your vouchers for this meal. This means you would have a night without a meal prepaid for if you went to Auberge de Cendrillon. It doesn't say that online - a bit misleading. She did say that you can go to Lucky Nugget with Characters for 1 voucher and the last sitting for both is 3.30pm. Hope this helps. :minnie:

Thanks, that explains a lot although I'm a bit miffed because it is very misleading. I probably wouldn't have bought them had I known that. Ah well....
Well I sure do not think that is very fair anyway but I thought there must be some kind of catch.
But what can you do about it? not eat there perhaps? lol...
No I think it really is misleading and I would have emailed Disney if I did not already know the only thing I get back is the standard repley that they're busy :?
This doesnt make any sense at all! Why pay extra for the half board plus, then have to use two nights tickets? Can you use one set of tickets and pay the difference?
I dont know whether to bother with the half board if they are going to do this! Or I may not bother with L'Auberge at all. DD will be thirteen and past seeing the princesses
I will say though, I am getting really confused by all the info about half board, the more I think I've got it straight, there is more info contradicting it
There is a board already open to talk about half board meals though-we may be reminded politey we're taking this off track as its about the menu and not half board meals if you see what I mean.
I explained that I had just purchased the Half Board Plus package and she insisted I needed to use 2 tickets as the menu in the restaurant had just changed and it was more expensive. She didn't mention anything about paying the difference. I am a bit disappointed too as I only book the meal plan for the Cinderella restaurant, we were going to take advantage and go twice - typical!
Pjulie-that must be so frustrating!
I think they should remove L'Auberge from the list then and up date the details on the web site and brocuhures. Not clear thinking on their behalf me thinks
I think what we might do is actually go to Inventions restaurant and pay the difference. Simply because having looked at the menu I dont think my mob will eat a lot of it and because its suddenly working out very expensive.

Ah well, Inventions or Walts..... I'll start a new thread to find out which people prefer!

Sorry, my english is not so good...
Does this mean that we can´t eat with the halfboard vouchers at Lucky Nuggets at (for example) 6pm? :?
The girl said it is only lunch and last reservation would be 3.30pm.
I don't know anything about the half board stuff, I usually just eat when I want and where I want. But the restaurant did just suddenly change and no doubt, the website probably has not been updated since the menu changed. The website probably talks about auburge as the buffet it used to have before 31st March. No doubt this is the reason for the sudden change with the vouchers, since the menu is rather a lot more expensive than the 22€ menu it used to have while it was a buffet.
Thanks Patmagic.
I still dont think they are making things clear enough that the vouchers can only be used at certain times of the day.
Eating lunch at the Lucky Nugget at lunch time wont be a problem, we'll just get something light in the evening.
Like I said they needed to have thought this through better, cos they are going to end up with some REAL disgruntled customers.
Maybe they need to do a mock three day itinerary as an example :?:
You know
Day one Tea at the steakhouse
Day two Lunch at Lucky Nugget.....
But L'Auberge wont be on there.
Shame they got rid of the buffet...
Personally I don'tr understand what all this fuzz is about?
So you buy half board meal vouchers for 20 something euro, and you are all mad at Disney becauseyou can't get a 48 euro menu?
Some things I'll never understand...

Well, I'm not happy because when I bought the vouchers that restaurant was on the list as being one we could eat at, using the vouchers. There's only 14 altogether, so that's one off the list already. I just think they should be more organised that's all. :(
I'm not mad, but Im lucky, I havent booked my holiday yet.
I was a bit miffed cos i thought we might be able to dine at L'Auberge. I'm not overly interested in the menu. I would have preferred the buffet and I think this is where this thread started.
I'll just eat somewhere else.
BUT people have bought the vouches cos they thought that they could eat in a certain restaurant with the princesses for a certain price. Its a small mistake thats annoyed some people
Ah well, its a real shame

I don't people realised that the menu was changed, and that they bought the vouchers because they wantd to eat there with them - I mean - it hasonly recently changed, and as suggested above, they probably need to update the info still...
I'm sure that if you insist you will get a menu there for one voucher, but not what you would get when paying the 48 EUR.
By the way - is it just me or is 48.00 EUR REALLY heap for what you get, considering this is INCLUDING al beverages and a cocktail for starters...
I'm not aiming this to you personally, but in my business experience, it seems to becoming more and more common that customers think they truly are a king and can even determine what they are paying... there is an offer, and you either like it or go to the competition.
Of course, I can understand people's frustration, but please be honest - this is a simple mistake, and quite logic that you can't have such a menu for 20 something euro :)
Be happy you can go to Disney again :) :)
I was there on April 12th, ad it was great - going back tomorrow :) :) :) :) :)
Like you said Speedpacket, the 48 Euros not so bad for a meal like that. Inm fact its really good. Its just certain members of my family (DH!) wouldnt eat that sort of fare. So we have decided to go to inventions. We cant use the vouchers there either, but I'm prepared-having worked it into our budget now-and we'll see other characters instead of the princesses.
Its a new system, Give DLRP time, it will be good, its such a shame they made the restaurant list for half board plus, then changed the menu, costing people money. A bit of a mistake me thinks. Trading standards and all that-publish one thing then say another...
:-k And like you said maybe those who have bought the vouchers specifically to eat at L'Auberge should make that point loud and clear and see what happens.
This is what I learnt in when I was training in customer services-The customer is always right.-It's what we said in the stock room after they had gone that counted!!
And as for going to Disney
:D/ The more often the better please! :D/
I always learned that the customer is king... and I really do think that if Disney advertises with the fact that this is one of the restaurants you can eat with halfboard plus (cause it is not available with halfboard option) you should eat there for that voucher!
They have listed restaurants either where you can eat with the voucher and you have to pay for the extra costs, so it would be more fair to put lauberge de cendrilon in that list.
Not make people excited and then sad... it really is not good advertising! a big company should understand that.
People do not care very much about the food I think, they just wanna dine with the princesses.... even if they had gotten a burger and a soda :)
But we learn young children already to do as they promiss
Luckily DD is not bothered about seeing the princesses. She has agreed we wont eat at L'Auberge.
Hope all you guys who bought Half Board plus to see the princesses get something sorted. It must be really frustrating.
I am not going to eat there but go to the Lucky Nugget Saloon instead! There I take a lunch on the last day I am there since the bus will leave about 15.30 so I only have to buy a sandwich on the way home.
Very interesting-rang Disney direct as I had a real dodgy time with travel agent (but thats another story!) When I mentioned Half board plus, the v nice young man mentioned that L'Auberge is no longer included. Obviously the message is getting through!
Hi everybody.
It is true that the "DINE WITH THE PRINCESSES" theme is brand new and not featured in any brochures as it was a last minute additon.
I need to say that I am very happy about this new product, as I hate buffet service restaurants. I prefer to pay a little bit more and being served correctly. The buffet at the Auberge de Cenrillon was horrible and the restaurant lost some of its elegance for me.
WHAT DO YOU GET FOR 48,- EUROS?
1) A great menu (you would pay around 30,- for the same at Walt's or Blue Lagoon without any drinks)
2) drinks are included - you get a cocktail, wine or water for the adults and soda for the children - plus coffee for the adults. I think you would end up at 40,- Euros in other Restaurants for your food and drinks
3) A unique opportunity to meet the Disney Princesses. There is a Disney photographer around --- AND TAKE YOUR PICTURE OF CINDERELLA AND YOU IN FRONT OF HER CARRIAGE --- is 8,- Euros too much for that?
So please see "DINE WITH THE PRINCESSES" as a special treat for your children or a very special event during your stay at Disneyland Resort Paris. You are not going every day to dine with a Disney princess!!!
Ah, but what happens if your little princess wont eat whats on the menu? It's not so much my little princess actually, its more her royal father!
I have tried to work out whats on the menu so that my fussy aters can make a clearer decision. Tried to look at the photo of the menu, but I couldnt work it out. I'd apprecite any help please on that front.
I may have to go on my own and send my lot off somewhere else to eat, just so that I can enjoy the atmosphere, the food and the chance to get close to the princesses.
Its great that someone came up with the idea to have the Princess dining though. I think it will be very popular
Gonna open this old nut again.
Heard from a friend yesterday who spent about £120 to take her daughters to see the Princesses and none of the family were overly impressed with the menu. In fact her little girl only ate the dessert.
She had no complaints about the atmosphere and the interaction of the princesses, she just thought that £120 for food that nobody really wanted to eat was a Hell of a lot of money to pay. The place was virutuall empty and she spoke to a family with a little Princess that was dying to go, but they were put off my the fact the food was very limited and their children wouldnt eat it.
Something like-brilliant idea-maybe rethink/add to the menu?
Anybody else heard good or bad things about the new menu?
Cor! Been trying to find stuff about Auberge-and found this old nut!
I am picking up snippets about the menu-but really hoping if anyone has any idea whats on it?
Looked at DLRP Review. I'm getting hints about whats on it. tried to look at old threads and getting confused (doesnt take much!)
We have premium package this time so are covered for Auberge :D
DD pretty much pleaded with DH to go to see the princesses (thank goodness cos I want to go! She shook with excitement when he said yes! She's nearly 16 and there is a chance this is her last family holiday :( )
So please. Anyone know whats on the menu? Will hubby be going to McDonalds to fill up afterwards?
edit-cos I need to look a bit more before posting-looked in introduce yourself before popping off to get on with my day and found the useful link never2old had provided! So thanks for that!

Thanks for that link Tubbsy - I too have been looking for Auberge details! (we are celebrating my 23rd birthday here woo!) the menu looks yummy!!! :)
Doesnt it just? Although my 7 year old lad isnt really interested in having the slipper-so the nearly 16 year old says she'll swap!
Just to let you know, the slipper is no longer part of the dessert.
BTW, I've updated my Auberge de Cendrillon photo album last week.
Check it out here: http://www.photosmagiques.com/gallery/d ... rillon.php (http://www.photosmagiques.com/gallery/disneyland_park/fantasyland/auberge_de_cendrillon.php%22%20onclick=%22window.open(this.href);return%20false;)

going to check the photos out :)
awwwwwwwwwwwwww no slipper?? :( I am actually feeling a bit gutted right now...
off to check out those photo's now hehe! thanks for those. x
the slipper is still showing on those photos, has it definetly been stopped?
does anyone know what the current price is to eat here for adults and childen?
Just booked the auberge for my 8 year olds surprise birthday dinner in June :)
Does anyone have a link to the new menu?
Thanks in advance

according to central plaza, in february of this year it was 59,20€ for an adult and 24,80€ for a child.
edit: the slipper was also still listed too!
Those are the prices, though remember it also includes 7 photographs with Cinderella too.
The slipper as was is not on there, but there is a smaller white chocolate one still on the desert platter. On my recent trip report, I have put in a description and pictures of the experience. Although a lot of people take their precious little princesses, like we did for our 5 year old's birthday, it is still a good experience for adults too. My wife and I used to eat here all the time before they went to the new set up.
Please be advised there is now only a non alcoholic cocktail option too, so that is another little change.
Here is the extract from my trip report for other readers if it is useful:
We high tailed it over to Fantasyland for Jessica's surprise treat at 3pm. We had dinner reservations at Auberge De Cindrillon. We always used to adore dining in this fine french restaurant, but they introduced the new character experience with the €59 ($90) per adult €24 ($36) per kid menu a few years ago that put us off. But the kids are growing up fast and Jessica is Cinderella mad, so we went for it. And I am really glad we did.
As we entered, Cinderella greeted the children and wished Jessica a very special birthday. They had their photos taken and 7 prints were delivered (included in the price) at the end of the meal. We were then shown to our table, and had a wonderful cast member who saw to our every need (including seamless service when Mikey knocked mama's wine all over her and her dinner - within 5 mins there were fresh linens, a new dish with fresh food and a new glass of wine - with discretion and a smile, as well as a wonderful way with children).
We were served with our non alcoholic cocktails and garlic prawns when we arrived at our table, the children opted for milk. Then shortly thereafter the herald announced the arrival of Belle and her Prince (also joined by princess Aurora, Ariel and the mice of Cinderella). They came in and next to our table, Beauty and the Beast waltzed. I know it sounds precious, but it was lovely, and Jess was star struck. We had meet and greets, and when they were done, the starters were served (kudos to DLP on this one, most character meals are annoying as the food is interrupted by the characters, but not in this case).
The meal I am pleased to say was of a high quality. The kids started with a medley of salmon mouse, garlic and tomato tartar, and a buffalo mozzarella and tomato kebab. We had smoked salmon, the tomato tartar and pate fois gras with fresh bread and D'Isgny (yes, where Walt's family are from) butter.
There was a choice of white, rose or red wine included with the meal, we opted for the red which had quite a good bouquet.
For the main course, the children had parma ham mickey raviolli and a tomato and basil sauce. It was very good. Sarah had opted for lamb with potatoes au gratin and veggies; and I had the sublime veal with the au gratin and veggies. It was excellent.
Then on to another surprise. Jessica looked disappointed whenever another table had a birthday wish. What nobody, including Sarah knew, was I had arranged for a cake. To ensure discretion, I had made arrangements in French so the family did not know it was coming.
So after the meal, about 8 cast members, plus Ariel, Belle and the Beast came to our table singing happy birthday with hugs and kisses for Jess. She and Sarah were overwhelmed (and I must confess my eyes misted up a little too). Even Mike enjoyed it.
The chocolate cake had a white chocolate tablet where it said in French "Happy Birthday Jessica". So great.
So dessert consisted of for the kids - a candy floss strawberry milkshake, sorbet cone, a white chocolate Cinderella slipper and birthday cake. For the adults we had the cake, a raspberry tart, a chocolate, apricot and chantilly cake, and a pistachio mouse. Sublime. We followed up with coffee and petit fours. It was wonderful, and testament that DLP does offer some of the best dining experiences in a MK park.

Currently only that side of the building is planned for refurbishment.
You can really tell a difference in colour. I'll post a photo when I get home from work.
The fences have come down! :)
