We've recently come home from our first stay at DLH, and I remember reading somewhere that the hotel will be having an upgrade. Does anyone know when this might be?
Oh wow, I hadn't heard that but I hope it's true!
Not the Disneyland hotel, It's hotel New York that is due for renovations next. It's due to close for a year while this is done. It's expected to start sometime late next year as far as I'm aware.
I would not be surprised to see the DLH get a refurb as well, not at the same time as Hotel New York obviously, but I have no doubt that it could use one.
I believe DLH is last to be refurb - believe it's before 25th Anniversary, but not for a while/ year or so yet....
Anyone know when HNY renovations will begin?
We are hoping to go to DLP for my 21st in February 2016 ???

When you booked, did it say "for the same price, get 5 days 4 nights?"

They just said they have no receipt of Hotel new york closing for refurbishment yet..But she just said if things change i will get an email confirming this..so i suppose its just a wait and see :)
They never tend to go out of their way to release 'official' announcements about refurbishments, or at least, none that we would hear over here (unless we enquired!),.... as things always change and are sometimes subject to delays. I believe the pool is closed for half of this November due to pool refurbishment (but this is more just general maintenance).
HNY is said to be for refurbishment before 25th so 2015, or 2016.
That said, after the recent problems in 'communication', I think they'll keep on top of things for all future refurbs. Watch this video... (sorry, but i did start to laugh at 3:45) ::) :-X

OMG!!!!!!!...I feel for that family the way they have been treated..Thanks for posting that jimtrim :).
Good job they had the money to transfer! I'm sure there were a lot families that didn't end up having any choice :'(
As said, I think you'll be fine Disneypluto, especially as HNY won't need the same outside/paintwork that NB had to have.....
I've heard that they do some of the hotels in sections?
... yes ecpecial re the rooms.
How many rooms does the HNY have? ???

I thought it would be a lot more than that!
There are 572 rooms in the New York Hotel and another 36 suites.

Hotel New York and the Disneyland Hotel are the two most expensive hotels in the resort. In order to guarantee high occupation rates, they can't make them too large. The Newport Bay and Sequoia Lodge are both over a 1000 rooms, with Santa Fe and Cheyenne both at exactly 1000.
