Does anything play at the Chaparral Theater ... going in October
There's been nothing going on there for a long time! :(
I think it's a real shame! The last time I saw anything there was in August 2008 when Tarzan was on.
I also saw Mickey's Winter Wonderland in December 2004 and loved that!
DLP haven't used the Chapparal Theatre for about 4 years if not longer. I think this is the only thing really missing from DLPs entertainment programme. They need to bring back all the shows for the different seasons! :D
DLP is in desperate need of new shows! Plus the area around the Chapparal Theatre is going to waste, which is a big shame!
We went during the 2012 Welsh festival and there were some performances in the Chapperal Theatre, we went and watched one with some really good Welsh Voice Choirs and some children who'd won something at the Eisteddfod. The show lasted about an hour, and I think there was other stuff there the day before and after (the Welsh Festival runs 3 days). The theatre seating area was about 3/4 full and several filming crews were there, at least 2 of which were official DLRP ones. It was nice to see the area being used and the acoustics were surprisingly great. I assume they use the area every year for the shows, but I've only been during the 2012 season. All other times I've been to DLRP (not during the festival) I've not seen anything happening there and it feels pretty unused. :'(
Seen Tarzan and Mickeys Winter Wonderland and loved them both. It was always lovely to use the show as a break from all the walking.
We last saw both the Tarzan and Mickey's Wonderland shows in 2012. Agree with previous comments, you enjoy the shows and you also appreciate the ability to sit down for 3/4 hour. We always venture around to the Corral to check if anything might be showing, but this is unfortunately yet another of those poor decisions that the management have made in recent years to not utilise such an asset.
I actually haven't been to the Chapperal theatre in a long time, not since Mickeys Winter Wonderland 2004. I would love it if they had more shows going on, but the management just aren't doing it.
I miss the Lion King show from Cafe Hyperion the most, though
Yes, it seems the King will never return. :'(
What is the solution to DLP theatres!!?
Good news guys! According to InsideDLParis, who is a reputable source, we will hear of a new show in approximately two weeks!
...oo goodie!! :o
I presume that's news of a new show, and not a new show itself! ;D
.... can you put up the article link msRavenswood :)

Well colour me suitably intrigued. But what could they put in that theatre?????
Ah yes! But do note InsideDLParisdid say it is not a Halloween or Frozen Show.
Looks like it is going to be a Frozen show. Well, I guess we just have to wait and see...
Oh great... can't say I'd like to see a frozen show over tarzan or just something better!! but haven't seen yet, so admittedly cannot judge:)
I'll be a bit happier if they have a real moose :)

There was a Twitter conversation between InsideDLParis and DedicatedToDLP and the first said "@DedicatedToDLP Who said it wouldn't be Frozen ;-), we just said, not a Frozen Christmas show."
I think tangled or Beauty and the Beast would work brilliantly as a stage show, although the thing about tarzan was that they never needed to change the backdrop......it'll be really exciting to see what comes!
They already had a beauty and the beast show. ;)
frozen would be a good solution as its high popularity seems to hold on
All will be told in about 2 weeks, InsideDLParis will give a hint and we should know what it is.
Now here's a thought, with Merida appearing at DLP for the first time this Christmas maybe we'll be getting a "Brave" show. Bag pipes, bit of a highland fling, bit of archery. I know her meet and greet in America is quite extensive, its just a thought
Ah I remember watchin Tarzan!
I wonder what the new show will be ;D ;D
Have they stopped mickeys winter wonderland in the Christmas season then?
Just a thought, think about the location...
This is Frontierland we are talking about, a mini Wild West Stunt Show could suit. Or something related to the Wild West. Goofy's Summer Camp was quite good and mixed in well with the Country Feel of Cottonwood Creek Ranch.
If any of you have listened to the dedicated to Disney YouTube show on the weekend he says that the rumour coming out at the mo from inside Disney is that it may be a frozen show or something to do with frozen. It's definitely not an Xmas show but it's definitely frozen based. It's going to be interesting as the months go on on what gossip keeps coming out with regards to a The Chaparral theatre. I'm really looking forward to hearing only good things that will improve DLP!

... do all you guys remember/ ever see this 'show' of sorts in Frontierland: http://disneyandmore.blogspot.co.uk/2011/06/rare-video-of-disneyland-paris-zorro.html
....I think I was 2! ;D so obviously wouldn't remember, but it looks pretty cool.... probably had to stop for health and safety n' all! >:(

I saw a Beauty and the Beast stage show in 1996 and it was amazing! I remember not understanding much of the French the characters spoke, but the costumes were AMAZING!!!!!!!!
I would love to share something like that with my own children...
Why Frozen? ???

Why Frozen? ???
Because it's more popular than just about anything else Disney at the moment? :)
That's the only reason they'd need I imagine.

It definitly makes sense. It's been a pretty popular film compared to others. They know it'll draw the crowds in.
Just about to say that DisneyRon:), but yes I also say .... WHY FROZEN! It doesn't really fit in this location, but they've chosen it because it's popular (with a big fat P) and kids will undoubtedly looovve it.... maybe not if Paris gets a cold Winter! Still, whether it's good or not all depends on what format the show really takes. Hopefully it won't disappoint....
(It might be a bit weird, or possible annoying if we hear Let it Go periodically playing from the theatre throughout the day should you pass by that area ... :) - it wouldn't be loud enough for this to happen, but still ::)
It would be a good comedy standoff/ show if OLAF, MARSHMALLOW and KRISTOFF were the main act (oh, and Duke of Wes?..ling-?.... whatever it is!

I would have thought a cold Paris winter would suit a Frozen show and add to it even ;D
True, true and it's under cover 8)
I think Frozen would be a good one to have during the Christmas season as it's all about snow, ice etc. OK DLP might not have lots of snow and ice but I think Frozen fits in with the winter theme.
Is the Frozen singalong in Videopolis a test for what is coming to the Chaparel Theatre?
Here's a video, if like me you had no idea about this... just read on disboards it might not come till next summer?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eTWmcSSyQKU
I'm making no comment ... ???
Thema's soms heavy construction work going in. They were doing groundwork with a crane this morning
I went to the sing along at Videopolis and it was better than I thought (I thought it was gonna totally suck). I don't like Frozen and I don't sing, so I'm not even their target audience. I think they should have sessions AT LEAST in English at French, like they do with Stitch. The hosts were very engaging, very funny, and they made it very entertaining. I could see people stopping by with their kids, specially considering half of the girls are wearing Elsa or Anna costumes.
Also, they asked us to fill in some questionnaires, which I think was a great idea. They asked what we liked, disliked, how many of us were, how many sang, how many kids, of what ages, where we lived... All the right questions.
The Chaparral Theater's area is pretty dead, and I don't think this could do any harm, yet it could attract guests to the area. It's better than not having anything at all.
I really wish they brought Tarzan back :(
I like this Sing along show idea: Both, the man and the woman were great (okay, the man sang a bit louder so i heard more from him - he's got a very clear voice)
It has to be a great feeling when the whole audience is singing Let it go / liberée delivrée (i felt so when i watched the video). And i think they managed the language problem with enliglisch and french good - seperated shows woud be even better (i would go to both - i wouldn't sing solo, but with the audience ;D)
Of course would a great show be better: But this is actually a good beginning for the future of this theatre (Chaparral or videopolis). There are no higher costs such as costumes (okay, we could do this with characteres) and it might be very easy to cancel this show, if Frozen MIGHT become less popular...MIGHT...
So, even if there are a few little things they can make better, well done Disneyland Paris, that is a good step into the right direction. Can't wait for the result!
Looks like the Frozen show is definitely going to happen as they're holding auditions soon:

Is it going to be a sing-along?
well they are looking for 7 singers/dancers with good stage presence, and a master/mistress of ceremonies. ;)
So whatever it is, it's going to require song and dance on a stage with a frozen theme.
Sing-a-long seems likely.
As much as I'd love to see the theatre in use again, I don't want it to be a Frozen show. We get it, Frozen was a huge hit but there are other Disney movies.

Just think, a Frozen show would maybe draw visitors from other parts of the park, making queues smaller elsewhere...

Wouldn't count on it. Everybody expected that with the meet 'n greet as well.
Queues for the meet are massive, but so are the queues for the rides. Doesn't change a thing.
Any updates?
I really wish they would bring Tarzan back :'(
