Hey all,,
Looks like Disney released press release of what we can expect at DLP Halloween this year , with the addition/ elaboration of the Disney villains posing in Castle Courtyard as has happened in the past......led by Malificent
http://www.disneyandmore.blogspot.co.uk/ - dragon hedge sounds nice disney quality touch:)
Also sounds like they're continuing harvest theme with Mickey/Minnie parade - I wasn't there last year - so does this replace the Magic Everywhere parade - or are we lucky and have both?
Let the halloween hype begin :D,
Jim.
I was there last year and will be again this year: the Hallowe'en parade is as well as the Magic Everywhere one :D
I am so excited!!! ;D
Hey Seraphelle,
Well that's not bad!:) Does it happen immediately before (like the older halloween pre-parade with the horses and Jack SkellIngton) or at another time/ earlier in the afternoon?
Jim.
Let the Halloween hype begin indeed!!!! ;D
Our first Disney Halloween in 62 sleeps! Not that I'm counting...
The Halloween Harvest cavalcade is earlier on in the day and not just before Magic on Parade. If it is like last year it happens three times a day running from It's a Small World gate to Town Square and back again. The times were around lunchtime.
It's a great parade and I look forward to seeing the new additions to it this year.
I like the enhanced Castle Courtyard villain meet and greet and look forward to seeing the new Villain event on Central Plaza.
What sort of time where the parades last year? We are trying to decide on meal times and dont know where to start? Thanks
I think parades are around 4 or 5

Thank you so much for replying, thats a great help ;D
This year will be my first Halloween visit, and I can't wait! Everything sounds amazing! :D
I'm interested in going to this year's Halloween event with some friends, but does anyone know how ticketing works? Can you just turn up or do you have to pre-purchase them?
I've never been for Halloween, always go for Christmas, but it strikes me Disney do far more decorating for Halloween than Christmas. Maybe I need to change my travel plans.

I've never been at Christmas, so couldn't really say about Christmas - I know they have the tree and some additions in Fantasyland. Do they have snow on main street in DLP?
I've never really been that phased about seeing Santa in Disney, as I wouldn't really associate him as a Disney character in any way, but everybody loves the villains (which come to define so much a part of all the Disney movies through history, right from Snow White) In many ways they're just as much main characters as the heroes and usually more interesting!
Go on RocknRoller, take a trip to Disney during Halloween!;-)....
you might just end up wanting to go during this season every time...
... just to get everyone in the mood: :D (including some footage that didn't make it to the movie)

You have to pre-book the Halloween Party tickets. My boyfriend and I have just booked ours. We have had our trip booked since April. We booked the hotel & Eurostar desperately not through DLP, so we just called the UK DLP booking number and asked to buy two Halloween Party tickets. As we are Dream Annual Pass holders, it cost £50 and they are posting them to us.

Excellent, thanks!
EDIT: Is that £50 each or total for both of you?
£50 for both of us, with the Dream Annual Pass discount.
Does anyone know if there will be a Halloween Brunch at Inventions on the 31st?
BTW, does the 'harvest' cavalcade replace the character train that usually runs down main street throughout the day?
What I'm actually asking, 'in disguise' :) is do we get to hear the 'do you believe magic song at all during halloween (i think it still runs with the train at the moment?)
With that in mind, the Happy happy happy happy halloween song used to replace the tous en trian in previous years, which admittedly, I must confess I am addicted to and can never get this cycle out my bloomin head! ... just to remind you and see if you can't get this out of your head for the rest of the day.... :D

This brings a smile to my face - i defy anyone to not start singing! ;D
What happened last year re disney train/express during halloween?

Oh thank you very much ;) I not only have this tune running through my head but it has reminded me of a couple of others. I now have a continuous loop of this, Its a small world and Chante Cest Noel.
Yes I like Chante C'est Noel, it's a small world is, well, not my favourite song:)
but this one just keeps coming back............. :-\, :D ::) >:( and >:( all al the same time, but most importantly we can't help but feel..... ;D
....Hey everyone.... looks like they released a new ad for the Halloween season (live-action, but pretty cool?:)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vMFYpJ0qQdc
...you can also 'Join the gang' and get your own villain card to print off - I was Cap'n Hook:).... nice novelty for the kids maybe, you could print off for them, maybe even laminate if you find yourself with nothing to do :)
...obviously, as usual, they didn't have the budget to do the animation that the states ad gets, but I think it's still good and am started to get quite excited ;D
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g0ktGNZziBk
Jimtrim, The train has not been used for over a year now! It was used during the 20th ann for that year, but is now waiting in a warehouse for it's next coat of paint to give it a new incarnation! So no do you believe in magic I'm afraid.
ah right, didn't know that :)
I really like both adverts.
I really like the DLP live advert though. I think it works really well and showcases the beauty of our park. It's nice to see DLP have the effort to make adverts like this. It wouldn't have been cheap to make.
I've renamed this as our official topic for Halloween!
The first Programme is out:

What's everyone most excited for this year?
The court. :D
Everything! ;D
Seriously, this is going to be my first Halloween-visit. I love Disneyland and I love Halloween. So I am really excited about everything.
I would just love to feel the atmosphere, I want to see Jack Skellington (one of my favorite characters!) and I think it will be nice to see some more of the Disney villains! :)
I'm actually looking forward to the scheduled music - brass band/orchestra...
I know DLP have had small bands and acts before frequently around the park and sometimes/often in the frontierland restaurants, but I have just seemed missed them in the past ::) - ... so I'll make a point of going there at the scheduled times this time ;D
I'm looking forward to everything!
Halloween is my number one favorite season at DLP, I've been experiencing it for so many years now.
After a serious letdown in 2012, they kicked back last year with a fantastic season.
And this year seems to be getting even better.
As a huge Maleficent fan I'm incredibly happy that this year's Halloween season is mostly based around her.
I'm also a big fan of all the other villains, so I'm really looking forward to The Maleficent Disney Villains Promenade as well as Maleficent's Court.
Next to the Villains I'm pretty much obsessed with The Nightmare Before Christmas, so I'm also really excited for my annual date with Jack Skellington!
And also just seeing the fantastic Mickey's Halloween Celebration, and all the decorations.

I've posted a new blogpost on Photos Magiques with photos from this year's Halloween merchandise.
Check it out: http://www.photosmagiques.com/blog/2014/10/13/halloween-merchandise-disneyland-paris/ (http://www.photosmagiques.com/blog/2014/10/13/halloween-merchandise-disneyland-paris/)
Thanks for the merchandise photo's, so glad I'm not there at the moment as I would be very poor very quickly. Hope they still have the Captain Hook caps when I go in November though, gotta get me one of those
Myself and my partner will be going to Disneyland next week (29th-1st Nov) especially for Halloween as we really want to meet Jack and Sally and as we're both cosplayers the fact that adults can dress up for the party is a big deal to us also.
I was just wondering if anyone here had worn Disney outfits for the party before? I was going to wear my blue Belle dress but I was a little worried about upsetting children if they wanted a photo and I had to refuse due to the rules. I will be taking my Once Upon A Time version of Belle instead as that is probably more recognisable to adults who watch the show. My partner will be wearing a gijinka version of Sulley from Monsters, Inc.

Meeting Jack Skellington won't be a problem, since he's out every day. However Sally can be a bit of a hassle, since she barely joins him.
They both won't be out and about during the big Halloween Soiree, so you do have to meet them during the day.
It won't be a problem to wear a Belle dress. During that one night it's allowed.
I will be wearing either a full on Maleficent costume or a full on Minnie Mouse costume.
A lot of people have gone all out every year during the Party and that's okay.
It's good to know people go all out =) I know the American parks have more opportunities for dressing up so it's quite popular there but didn't know if Paris had as many adults getting involved as it's the only event all year they can do this.
I have put together a Rapunzel Disneybound to wear one of the days also.
This is my regular Belle:

And my OUAT (which I shall be wearing for the party):

You look gorgeous! It is totally fine to wear Disney costumes, the only restriction is you cannot pose for photographs or sign autographs posing as the official "Belle" if you know what i mean :)
Has a programme been released yet for the actual Halloween Party? I'm sure I got one last year - my memory is terrible :-[

This year's programme (http://dlrpexpress.fr/article-ProgrammeofficielSoireHalloweenDisney) looks really promising! I wish I were at the soiree this year!
Thanks msRavenswood - honestly don't know what I'd do without you people! Shame about the lack of Soiree for you this year but it just means you have all year to get excited thinking about joining in for 2015 :D

You're welcome sweetie! I've never been to DLP for Halloween season, but hubby promised me that the next time we go it will definitely be on Halloween. ;D
Woohoo, fingers crossed hubby makes good on the promise!! It is my absolute favourite time of year at DLP!! Your favourite attraction (I'm guessing due to your username?!!) is extra special then, the cast members put a ton of effort into making it super spooky :o

Thank you! And yes I knew that rule but was worried in case children didn't understand and got upset even if I explained the "real" Belle was somewhere in the park and I was just dressing up because I like her like they do. If the kids are French they won't understand me anyway...
Thanks for sharing the programme msRavenswood! So excited!

I sure hope he does keep his promise! Phantom Manor is indeed our favourite ride, I'm sure we'll enjoy it more during Halloween but the main reason I want to visit then is because of the atmosphere and also because I've been dying to meet Jack Skellington!

You're welcome! You look gorgeous in those costumes by the way! :D
People that went to the Halloween soirée last year can you tell me if there was
Many children there. We have bought tickets and are now being told by another site it's not Suitable for my 6 year old daughter. Look at the evening even Leaflet from last year and there looks enough for us to do. But people are saying don't take her.
What a programm! I didn't know it was such a fun!
Thanks for sharing, MsRavenswood!
Leigh_345, it all depends on your kids. My daughter was 7 when we went last year and was fine apart from Discoveryland where they had people walking around on robotic stilt type outfits and she was briefly frightened. She soon relaxed though and had a dance. With regard to outfits, nothing too frightening is allowed, in fact I don't remember seeing any scary costumes at all, Jack and Sally are about as scary as it gets :) It really is a fun night :D
Thanks seraphelle. That's a great help. She's not really fazed by much. With her birthday being Halloween we have always decorated our house. I was just worried with people putt on one of the face book pages that they wouldn't recommend taking her as it's normally full of French youths and it's not monitored what they wear. She is desperate to have a villain birthday at Disneyland Paris.
It is full of groups of teens, and Disney Village is a bit more loose with the costumes. Unless we just missed all the creepier costumes (which to be fair and play devils advocate, could have been a possibility as we did a few rides, then went and watched the parade, then went and queued to meet Tiana and Naveen, did a few more rides, then went to the disco in Discoveryland, so we didn't roam around everywhere).
I do remember seeing a young lad with a sort of zombie-style costume by Phantom Manor (fake blood and so on, and pale contact lenses), that was the only thing that made my daughter do a double take, but she just said 'oooh that's a good costume!'. And in Disney Village there were a lot more risky costumes (and about a million Heath Ledger 'Joker in a Nurses Outfit' costumes). Like I say, it was just the big robots that freaked her out a bit. It is a very busy night though, and my kids found that more stressful than any of the outfits / costumes. Sometimes it was nice to get through a crowd and have a breather!
I did laugh at one point though, there was a stunning young woman dressed as Pocahontas, and as she walked through the crowd everyone stopped and stared at her. She looked just like her and her costume was perfect, and she was just having fun with her friends oblivious to all the attention she was getting ;D
we are thinking of hiring a pushchair for grace just for the evening as it will be the first time we have been there without one, and the day and night on the 31st will be so long for her, we are booking the princess meal hopefully so we will have a bit of a rest there. I'm very excited now and we have 6 months to go and 6 months of keeping the secret.
