We always stay in a Disney Hotel, but not only in the same. One time I prefer the Lodge, than the Disneyland Hotel etc. We stay in all Disney Hotels on serveral Times.

we always stay at the disneyland hotel as my mum comes and cant walk that much (afew hours around the park then she needs a lie down) i say to her that i'll put so much money to it and then if she wants the DLH she'll have to put the rest to it

I haven't voted because, not only do we stay in the resort hotels but also in the Kyriad, Vienna Dream Castle. We've even camped nearby and gone into the park with our AP's

Same as in the other treath :D :
My fav is the Newport Bay Club. It has all you need, beautiful rooms, a nice upscale ambiance, wonderful views over the disney lake. 2 restaurants and 2 bars and a disney shop, a big outside pool and a inside pool with health club and much more. And it´s near to the park.
IMO the best cost/performance ratio at the disney hotels.

I also stay at the lodge but not getting a fan. I´ve seen the other disney hotels and rooms to and must say, that I like the also the rooms of the disneyland hotel. The Cheyenne has a nice ambience too.

I don´t like the new york cause with the new colour schema it´s very near on old people's home group of germany.   :? :D A friend of me make the publicity for them and I see it always in my mind. Ans also don´t like the style of the rooms.

The Santa Fe is too hmm "deserted" to me  :)

We've stayed at the following:

DLH  x 2
HNY x 7
NPBC x 3
SL x 6
Cheyenne x 5
Santa Fe x 5
Camp Davy Crockett x 1
Holiday Inn x 4
Kyriad x 1

We will be trying the Marriott Vacation Club this time in June.

I used to swear by the DLP hotels, but I do not think the value are as good anymore if you are an AP holder as staying at HI or what I think the Marriott will be like.  Hence voting non Disney onsite hotels.

We always stqay in one of the Disney Hotels. I really prefer the Disney Magic and want to keep that going on while I'm in the hotel. But we always stay in a different Disney Hotel, this depends on our mood and the season we go.

We always stay at the Newport Bay club, but I'd really like to try the Disneyland Hotel.  Is it worth the extra money, and if so, why?   :)

@ suzy, we always stay in the disneyland hotel, but i cant say if the service and things are better or not than the other hotels as i have not tryed then yet, we have never had any compliants about the hotel the only thing is i can say is the times we have been (2003 and 2004) the swimming pool looks like is always needs money spending on it, it seems to be the only part of the hotel that they forget when it comes to a lick and paint and things, the breakfast is great (if you get there before 8am) and the piano bar is great but not many seats around the area, but the best thing is the views

Santa Fe
Sequoia
New York
Holiday Inn (great Hotel-hate using the buses tho. Thats the only thing that puts me off. Give me a leisurely walk back around the lake to travelling on the buses any time)

M'be Disneland Hotel (castle club) or New York (suite) next time.

Miss Disney Fan-have you stayed in the Castle Club?(Or anyone else!) Is it worth the extra?

Quote from: "tubbsy"Miss Disney Fan-have you stayed in the Castle Club?(Or anyone else!) Is it worth the extra?

I recently phoned and asked about the DLH, we were offered 25% AP Dream discount off a normal room which worked out at something like £315 but because there was no discount available for Castle Club, it came out at over £800/night. Not sure if the private reception and breakfast is worth THAT much :D

Okay! Maybe not then! Unless I come into a lot of money(Come on lottery tickets!)

New York suite? Anyone?

I did love the New York in general though. Enjoyed going down and using the pool first thing in the morning and coming back to find our breakfast we'd ordered the night before waiting for us. A GREAT start to the day.

Mostly we stayed in Santa Fe, but we have also been to other Disney hotels: Sequia Lodge,New Bort Bay and Davy Crockett. My favourite of those is Sequia Lodge. But if we go to Santa Fe we can afford it to stay longer....so I think its ok.

no tubbsy, hoping to stay in castle club this time, but as sam says the price is very silly, so if we do manage to book a suite it will be a one off

I didn't think Castle Club are suites? - the suites are even more expensive

Castle Club just gives u extra services etc - the suites are a completely different thing
Title:
Post by: miss disney fan on March 20, 2007, 02:02:06 PM
think it must be a castle club room then, dont really want that but my mum is treating us to it by making up the cost herself from the standard room whos going to say no,

The first time I stayed in Santa Fe, and I hated it, (ok I was 7 and probably didn't have the best judgement)..

But the other three times I have stayed at Sequoia Lodge and loved it, and plan to stay there this year too...

Smurfy - Doing Cheyenne this time (October). Friends stayed there in October last year and said it was O.K. In need of a tidy (seems to be the general comment on all the hotels) But a nice, basic hotel. She liked the idea of the bunk beds too, then she didnt have to put up with her two boys argueing about having to sleep in the same bed!

We've gone for it as we're working on a budget and if we stay here and with the children under 7 stay free offer we can do a Buffalo Bill meal.

In The Castle Club Area at the Disneyland Hotel they have Rooms and Suites, too. We stay in 2005 in a Suite in Castle Club in this Hotel.

!st trip - Cheyenne - I loved it , still think it has the best theming of all the hotels.
2nd trip - Santa Fe - I didn't like the SF, there was nothing in particular wrong with it and for the amount of time we spend in the hotel it was adequate, but if I had 2 choose between the 2 value hotels I'd definately opt for the Cheyenne.
3rd trip - Admirals Floor, Lake View @ the NPB - out of this world, everything about the hotel and our holiday was perfect.
4th trip - Sequoia Lodge (only 6 sleeps to go) :D/  will have to get back to you on that one.

:pluto: We have stayed in all of the Disney Hotels except for the Hotel Disney. Next week we are staying at the Sequoia Lodge for 1 night which is really nice, and its a surprize for our daughter. And for the other 4 nights we are staying at the Davy Crockett which we really enjoy.

How is the Davy Crockett Ranch like, Jayna?
Is it comfortable or is it a little bit cramped?

:pluto: You stay in like log cabins, they have one or two bedrooms, a lounge, kitchen and bathroom loads of space. Outside you have your own barbique and seating area, also you still get continental breakfast included in the holiday price the same as you get in the hotels. The swimming pool is the best out all the hotels that pools. :)

Is there also something like a "room maid"?
Title:
Post by: Jayna62 on March 27, 2007, 01:24:26 PM
:pluto: You can get the cabins cleaned like the hotels rooms and clean towels put in.

When I visited, I stayed at the Newport(1night) and New York (3nights),
the Newport is pretty good unless you get the room that i got with painting peeling off and the button for the toilet falling when u press it. But it was only for one night so i didn't mind. Also the Newport is almost the same as boardwalk and the yacht and beach club here in fl.
The New York Hotel was great in every aspect especially the bar!!!!

1st time I stayed in a hotel about 17 kms from Disneyland (forgot the name also, did not make a good impression though)
Second and third time I stayed in Santa Fe, fourth time I'd stayed in Seqouia lodge, fifth time I'd stayed in New Port Bay club at the admirals floor with lake view, sixth time I'd stayed in Cheyenne and next July I will be staying in the Kyriad hotel simply because I get 6 days there for the prive Santa Fe charges for 4 days.
I would love to go once to the Disney land hotel or New York hotel but still think they are rather expensive and I rather spend the money on goodies than....

I'm a bit surprised you're getting extra time in the Kyriad as opposed to Santa Fe. When I booked for September, the pricing at the Kyriad worked out more than the Santa Fe. I thought with it being further out, it would be cheaper.
Title:
Post by: Joseph Carter on April 23, 2007, 11:15:18 AM
Im not 100% but i think that Kyriad is cheaper (and more Comfortable) when there are more people but if its just 2 or 3 then Santa Fe is definatley cheaper than Kyriad.
Title:
Post by: Angela on April 23, 2007, 11:34:47 AM
I am going alone with the kid so 2 people.. so I can book a 2 persons room wich is always cheaper then 4 persons room. Also Kyriad is the only hotel in the area wich have the 5=4 or the 4=3 and the 3=2 action in July. So considering all that... Kyriad is defenitly cheaper than Santa Fe. Maybe troughout the year Santa Fe could be cheaper but since I am on a budget I wanted the cheapest hotel and I have explored all other options and Kyriad just gave me the best deal

We stayed at the santa fe once and hated, but then we dont much liek the all in one idea that a hotel has to offer.
We normally stay at the Ranch the pool is fantastic, and you can get brekkie the kids love going to get from the little hut, it comes in a happy meal type box, with plenty of coffee and jams to go around. We like our kids to go to bed and shut the door and have a little bit of piece in the evenings.

We also stayed t the pierre Vacances(sp) which was great as it also had 2 seperate bedrooms and kitchen diner. Ir was right next to the shopping centre so that was a bonus as we could just walk across. Would stay there again.

Ah, well I'm going on my own, so that must be it. I think I checked prices for my sister too (2 adults & 1 child) and Santa Fe was cheaper.
Title:
Post by: Angela on April 24, 2007, 08:49:54 AM
I checked it again and for Santa Fe for 4 days I had to pay 743 euro and for Kyriad I had to pay 748 euro with character breakfast wich is more expensive when you stay in Kyriad.
But coming to 4 person rooms I really do not know the price differences although my uncle (who has a family of 8 ) was also cheaper with the Kyriad hotel instead of Santa Fe.
It could also depends of where you are coming from I think.. maybe English travel agents do not have a contract with Kyriad of what so ever...
