Title: Princess Pavillion
Post by: haribosmum on January 20, 2014, 10:54:25 AM
Has the Princess Pavillion worked on the allocated ticket system lately?  It was just queue up when I went last Feb, then I read you went and picked up a timed ticket.  Not seen this mentioned again for a while, was it just a trial?

According to the schedule on Disneymagic, it dosn`t look like they have tickets right now. maybe they use it at times with more people in the park...

Aurora1 is right they just seemed to use this as a trial for busy times. When I went in November this was the only attraction in the Disneyland Park to have ridiculous queues. People started to line up during EMH for when the attraction opened at 10:30. By attraction opening the queue was already an hour long and simply got bigger throughout the course of the day!

Just don't get lied to. When we went in Feb 2013 we joined queue when sign said 45 Min waiting time around 10.30am, I asked the cm if this was right and he said it would be quicker as 2 princess . I didn't have a watch so joined queue with my oldest Daughter 4yrs and left husband outside with the 1yr. We seemed to wait along time and daughter wanted to stay when I said we'd try another day. We final got to see Cinderella and my daughter was over joyed, when we came out we meet up with my husband to find out we'd been in there 2hr 15min. So I was hoping for the ticket system this time.

Yes, queues tend to be ridicoulous.
2 tips, we followed last october( not so busy times): no matter what it says outside, take a look inside. If people are standing half way up along the "castle-windows", it never took us longer then 1 and 15 min.
Or go towards the end of opening times aat the pavillon. They close the doors at 3 (or whatever it says on the schedule) but still let you in before.

;) if there`s no one around in the park, they all queue up at the Pavillon! ;)

Can people give an update on this if they're visiting in the coming months please? I'm going to DLP in June and my daughter would love to see the princesses, but queuing for 2 hours doesn't sound like fun with a 3 year old

The Princess Pavillion is rarely closed. Also I doubt the queues will be a two hour wait if you are going to DLP during the low-season. I love visiting the princesses in the Pavillion, but if the queues are ridiculous you can always try to meet some of the princesses in the Studios! Ariel, Snow White, Jasmine and Mulan, who are in the Stars n Cars parade, often meet in the Studios about two hours before the parade. These meet and greets aren't scheduled though.

Yes they are. To my knowledge it says on the schedule "personnages Disney/Disney Characters" Ariel , we saw everytime. Mulan and Snow White most of the times!

Wouldn't worry. There was a man who I would say was in his mid forties queuing by himself one time I was there. Last time I got talking to a girl about your age by herself. She was lovely and it helped pass the time. Everyone is made to feel special when it is their time with the princess no matter how old you are.

Is the princess pavilion right next to the way that leads to Casey? I noticed a lot of people waiting there and I already wondered what they were doing.

If it is not too busy in March we will see if my daughter can meet a princess.

I'm sure I saw a pic of them in the parade over Christmas but not seen them mentioned in trip reports for the pavilion.

Just back from visting DLRP last week, they weren't operating the time slot ticket system, just a standard queue, queue was always at least 1 hour long and people were queing outside during EMH from 9am so they could be first in at 10am!
We didn't bother waiting for this but insteand opted for the princess lunch at Auberge. Quite expensive (cost us 210EUR for 2 adults and 2 children) but we did get to see Aurora, Cinderella, Snow White, Prince Phillip, Suzy and Perla. All spent plenty of time at our table chatting and taking time for photos and autographs.

The queues were longer at the Disabled entrance to Princess Pavillion than I've had the past 2 years too.  It was open officially at 10:30am (although they started letting them in about 10:15).  We queued for an hr one day which was a long time but able to keep daughter in her chair.  we actually found going a bit later meant there was a shorter queue.  as always lots of people moaning/shouting at the cast members that they only saw one princess or another occasion that the daughter hadn't seen the one princess she wanted to see (she wasn't even one of the choices at the time!)

That seeing one princess is not going to change. Imagine those queues!
At best Castmembers ask  what princess one has already seen. And direct them to the other. But if theres two that someone has already, there`s nothing they can do!
The princess queues are often the longest ones!

Anna and Elsa are not available for meet&greets at Disneyland Paris.
You can only find them on their Frozen float during the daily Disney Magic On Parade.

They only do meets at the US Disney Parks.

No, the Princess Pavillion is right next to It's A Small World.

I'm not sure about Frozen, but got fingers crossed at least for Anna next October. The ticket system for the pavillion has never worked when we have been there. The queues the last two times for tickets have been over 2 hours long, then there is still a wait when you get inside. Before the ticket system, the longest we waited was just under 2 hrs in total. The alternative is the princess meal, where we saw 3 princesses and 1 prince. Plus the 2 mice from cindrella. Its stress free and a great location, specially on a wet day. Plus they dance by the fire place every 20 mins, which is lovely to watch.

We did enjoy the meal at Auberge de Cendrillon (have no idea if I spelt that correctly) but found it to be verrrrrrrrrrrrrry expensive, especially if you have fussy kids that aren't blown away by the food they get given. The characters do come around a lot though and spend time at each table. We saw Cinderella, Aurora and Snow White with their Princes, as well as Suzy & Perla. When we queued in the Pavillion (about 90 minutes) we met Ariel which was lovely but my two girls had their hearts set on Belle and Rapunzel. We only saw Rapunzel in the parade and didn't see Belle at all during our whole stay, not even in the parade.  :(

Belle was leaving the pavilion as we went in, which was only at about 10:40 (it wasn't supposed to open till 10:30) so I couldn't work out who she'd been seeing unless it was VIPs or just a photo shoot.  The only other time we saw her was walking near the annual passport office, towards the big concrete stage (used to be winnie the pooh stage) and entering the back of the Auberge restaurant, she was there along with Tiana.

In previous years I've seen lots of different princesses, but on our 3 visits this time, Snow white was there for each of them.  We did see Cinderella for the first time in the pavilion this year (only seen her in the auberge before).  We got to see Rapunzel a few years back who is still my favourite!

Oh OK, I did wonder if we were just unlucky that time and maybe the cast member who plays Belle was ill or something  :-\  Does she not appear in the parade usually then? We're going back this year and my kids are determined to see Belle at some point even if its just in the parade. I'd hate for them to be disappointed again. Fingers crossed we see her this year!  ;D

Belle is not a part of the daily parade unfortunately. The only opportunity you have to meet her is at the Princess Pavillion, but that's a gamble since you never know which princess you get to meet.

I think she is often at the Auberge meal too.  Though again I don't think you can guarantee who're you're going to see.

She's at Auberge sometimes, but it's the same as with the Princess Pavillion... you never know beforehand.
The only difference is the Princess Pavillion is free and for Auberge you have to pay €65 for terrible food.

Oh what a shame, looks like we'll be taking our chances at the Pavillion every day then  :-\  I'm sure they won't mind too much as they get to meet a Princess at the end.  :)  I wonder why Belle isn't in the parade though, that surprises me I'd have thought she'd be in there.

I love Belle.  I was surprised that there isn't a Beauty & the Beast float but I believe that's where Rapunzel & Flynn are now?

I spotted Belle down the arcade on Main St when we went a couple of weeks ago. She wasn't out for long though my photo us quite blurred lol x

I have done the Princess Pavilion once because I too wanted to meet Belle and to have a look inside as it is a beautiful design. I queued for about 50 minutes  and it was very quiet in the parks when I went. It was the longest queue. I was very fortunate. I met Cinderella as Belle wasn't present at the time I got to the front.

I wonder if City Hall would tell you what time your favourite princess is in the pavillion if they are that day but then you still have to get to the front of the queue while the time your princess is still meeting guests.

I wonder the reason you saw Belle coming out at 10.40 is because they opened it early because of the huge queues of people waiting and the princesses were ready to meet their fans.

No they don't. If they would, everyone would be hanging around City Hall all day to ask when "their princess" is meeting at the pavillion. And it would be a chaos at the queueline of the pavillion, because everyone would be trying to wait until the right moment so they could meet the princess of their choice.

Lucky i didn't try that trick then. I just really want to meet Belle more then anything but I did enjoy meeting the princess even if I am a grown adult. First princess meet ticked off now want to meet as many as possible.

It feels good being a Prince for that short amount of time you are with them. haha
